WC: Taking a look back it’s not hard to find a huge amount of under-appreciated gems and cult classics that are long overdue a revitalising push into the new generation by expanding on their universes or signature mechanics. For the purposes of this list we’re also not going to be looking at the most ‘obvious’ of games that haven’t been given further sequels yet – like your Half Life 2s, Red Dead Redemptions or Shadow of the Colossus’ of this world – instead these are the titles that would come primed and ready to sell hundreds of thousands of copies thanks to built-in fanbases that’ve been hungry for more for years – some over a decade.
17 years later, it still stands out.
The game was indeed amazing. Great characters, gameplay and story!
But the dream sequences penned by Shigematsu were sublime.
I still remember many of these stories and I have integrated in the past in my D&D campaign many years ago.
Microsoft should have just kept pumping money into these guys. Same with a lot of the other studios... the blundered hard.
Lost Odysee deserved a franchise even though development wasn't smooth
It's not like it has had any competition since 2007. Would really like to own the short stories from it in book form.
The problem with most MS games on 360 was they didn’t make the games they paid for them and that makes you less money in the long run and isn’t something you can continue to do especially with declining sales of consoles. MS should have been starting and growing studios from the beginning but they went for paid games and it leaves them without the knowledge and culture of making games.
For some gamers, The Legend of Dragoon is, hands down, the best RPG ever. Isn't it time for a remake or reboot and not just a port?
It never will. The game may have been good, but it was just average at best. The kind of game that is one and done.
I'm happy with the PS Classics port, but if they did, I'd like a port/remaster of Legend of Legaia as well (please put that on PSN).
A team of modders has been working on an unofficial PC port of the 32-bit Playstation JRPG, The Legend of Dragoon.
If Square Enix can remake FF7, then why not Sony?
Remake these classics, Sony ... not recent games like Until Dawn
Crazy square doesn't do this kind of thing themselves with all their classics. I'd throw lots of money. Thank God we have such great communities as they're always the ones that properly remaster these games.
Lost Odyssey and Jade Empire top my list.
Lost Odyssey 2 NEEDS to happen! Its not too late!
Surprised Heavenly Sword isn't on this list.
