And do you know how much praise he gets otherwise? The idea of living in a world where you receive nothing but praise and affection is nice. It really is. But a lack of any criticism doesn't make a strong individual by any means. Eating a bit of humble pie is healthy and, considering his fame, sometimes needed. The fact that he does what he can to shy away from it doesn't say anything positive about him, as far as I am concerned.

Not sure if you've noticed on this site, but there are comments that praise and act, comments that criticise an act and, comments that offer nothing but destructive criticism (aka. trolling,immature comments). To say that the cause of disabling comments was due to criticism is far-fetched. I meant just look at this site, see how much trolling goes on here? If this site's comments section were ever to be shut down, it would be (by far) much more likely due to immature comments.

This is the most important word in your comment. There is a significant difference between the phrases 'if I' and 'I am'. IF you were making millions playing video games, you MAY not care about what others think, but here's the thing, you ARE NOT earning millions playing video games, so you DO NOT know what it's like being him.

You could ask anyone on the street what their response would be if they saw a girl physically assaulting a boy and they would say they'd intervene. But what really happens when it occurs? Ever seen the public reaction videos? The by-stander effect occurs and everyone just watches in silence.

You could say all day what you'd do in a given situation, but if you've never experienced the situation before, how do you know you'd do it? There is a very distinct difference between hypothetical situations and real situations. Your argument consists entirely of a hypothetical situation and holds no weight in argument.

Agreed. Luckily, most don't get the chance to have a voice loud enough to be heard, unlike PewdiePie. What he does for the industry essentially states that you can be a complete idiot, and people will notice and love you for it. The way he acts, and the fact that he caters to an incredibly young demographic, only serves to support the idea that games, as a medium, serves to little more than man-children and twelve year olds.

I used to enjoy his videos. made me laugh, but the past year it all seems to have been taken to the extreme compared to how he used to screw around on his videos. Now i primarily watch markiplier. I respect that guy greatly for what he does with his fanbase.

But I guess if there are people willing to actually spend time listening to this guy and someone actually willing to pay him then game on. I will say I can't stand the guy and will skip anything he does but that is my personal opinion.
