The Division Xbox One GamesCom Demo "Jaw Dropping, Solid Gameplay, Went From Dashboard To In-Game

The first impression of Tom Clancy's The Division Xbox One GamesCom 2014 behind the closed door demo and insider information on DirectX 12 and more.

christocolus3527d ago

Damn. I can't wait. This is one game I'm really excited about.

BiggerBoss3527d ago (Edited 3527d ago )

Wow I didn't even notice he was the source lol. There goes any legitimacy to this story

Edit: referring to the directx part of the article. The statements about the division are actually from a legitimate source (justin robey)

iamnsuperman3527d ago (Edited 3527d ago )

That is a terrible source. He has possibly the worst track record out there. The author might as well say anonymous source. Other than that part the rest of the article is interesting

Edit: What website thinks using him as a source is a good idea. What Justin said is good but half the story is based on a terrible source

whateva3527d ago

Source: MisterxMedia LOL. who would approve this?

creatchee3527d ago

Ehhhhh.... MisterX... The source might as well be Mel Gibson in the film Conspiracy Theory.

Kayant3527d ago (Edited 3527d ago )

Lmaoooo talk about picking bread crumbs.... To source mistermediax and write a serious piece about it is damn shameful and poor journalism.

How do you source someone that has not been right once will any of the so called "insider" info.

No doubt the division will look great because it's next-gen only and is not coming out for a good while. Would be great to have impressions from non-MS employees but no doubt the game will look amazing on any system when it's out.

DoubleM703527d ago

Yeah but the first guy confirmed it.

Justin Robey, Senior Producer on Sunset Overdrive, Ryse: Son of Rome and Scalebound. He said it was Jaw dropping.

Ezz20133527d ago

i pretty much lost it when i see Misterxmedia as the source

this guy think his left hand is his right leg

AngelicIceDiamond3527d ago

Great, this story would of been fine if MistermediaX name didn't pop up anywhere near it.

Either way I believe Justin Robey considering he was actually present at the demo showing.

Hardcore_gamerxbox3527d ago

If it was from ahsan Rasheed that bloody heart doctor if it was about ps4 it would have been true am I right ?

mikeslemonade3527d ago

"Steam and environments were unreal. Gameplay also looked to be solid. Sold!"

I know I will buy the game. I bought Watchdogs afterall..

Still doesn't mean the game will meet expectations. Anything Ubisoft puts out is suspect. They're just known for putting out above-average to good games.

ziggurcat3527d ago

holy crap, there's no way that this article should have been approved if misterx was the "source", then...

BG115793527d ago

Have any of MisterXmedia ever turned out correct?
I know this is an Rumor Piece, but common...
How was this approved? No really how????

fr0sty3527d ago (Edited 3527d ago )

We've all seen the game, and it looks amazing. Easily one of the best looking games coming to any system. As such, a demo on X1 should also look amazing, even if not running at the same resolution and framerate as PS4 or PC.

Just because a system may have to scale things back to run an amazing looking game, it isn't always going to be enough of a scaleback to keep it from looking amazing.

We all know Blu-Ray HD, or even broadcast HD, is far better than Netflix, between 2-5 times the bitrate of netflix video, however that hasn't stopped netflix from selling enough subscriptions to make cable and satellite providers wet their pants and begin throttling their bandwidth until netflix agreed to pay their ransom.

mark3214uk3526d ago

dont hold your breath it was probably running on pc not xbox one

sonarus3526d ago

Even more likely than running on pc, ms pr stunts

Just pray your username doesn't end up having anything to do with it...

Evilsnuggle3527d ago (Edited 3527d ago )

This is great new that my most wanted game The Division looks great on x1 . This means it will look even better on PS4 . Because the vast majority of mutil platform games perform better on PS4 . Be it resolution , higherer frames , more stability frame rates , better AA , or better lightening and shadows .

AutoCad@
" Doesnt surprise me,The Division is being built on xbox one first..Only if they use the dedicated servers instead of gimping it to P2P.."

Why would any develop use weaker hardware x1 as a lead platform . The developer announced back in may 2014 . Thats PS4 was the lead platform for the Division .

PS4 lead platform for Tom Clancy's: The Division, "Most powerful hardware, Snowdrop Engine works better": Dev

In a recent inteview to GameReactor Eu, Massive Entertainment denied the rumor and said Playstation 4 is the more powerful hardware and is easier to work for.

"That's not correct. PlayStation 4 is the more powerful hardware and we feel it is easier to develop for. Snowdrop works better on PS4 and even if Microsoft do want us to shift lead platform that's not something that has happened." said Massive Entertainment.

The delusion of some fanboys

I know fanboys will down play 50% more GPU cores and 30% real world preformace benchmarked PS4 GPU vs x1 GPU digital foundry . Thats not take in account the PS4 advantage in GDRR5 unified memory architecture vs slower DDR3 and more complex small 32 mb architecture . Also PS4 huge advantage in ACEs vs x1 . PS4 8 ACEs vs 2 ACEs 400% advantage PS4 .

I can't wait for The Division and the Wicther 3 .

AutoCad@

Hardcore_gamerxbox3527d ago

Woow some body is good at copy and paste

GearSkiN3527d ago

Oh god another PlayStation guy... Smh.

christocolus3527d ago

@evilsnuggle&the gang

You just had to go offtopic didn't you? This is an article about the xbox version of the division, what does ACEs,Gddr5, SpUs and GPu have to do with it? You just had to drag in the ps4 into this. If you wanna brag about 400000% raw power advantage why not go do it in a ps4 article, where you will be applauded for your efforts. This is an xbox article doubt any one cares about all that. You guys are amazing.

3527d ago
lunatic00013526d ago

If Xbox 1 is weak why also use another weak system like the ps4 as the lead platform when we all know it will run and look better on pc

Ubilying too much so I can't trust anything until we see actual footage. Not after Watch Dogs and definitely not after what they've been doing to Tom Clancy games lately

After seeing the xb1 version of the witcher I have high hopes for this game.

So, because it's an Xbox related source, he's untrustworthy.

None of these douchebag insiders are trustworthy, yet they still appear in the news as being reliable.

Just ignore them, but you can't if it involves a precious playstation.

How do you think i feel? I have to get this so called "news" for both next gen consoles.

An insider source from "misterxmedia"

Hate to break it to you but MisterX has no indsiders. He is the insider who makes up all this BS.

http://misterxmedia.livejou...

Neonridr3527d ago

what about Justin Robey though. Is he not to be trusted?

Raiz3527d ago

he is a producer of ryse son of rome, sunset overdrive and scalebound

TFJWM3527d ago (Edited 3527d ago )

The only thing that Justin Robey said was that the Division looked great and it was running on Xbox1. All the rest was from MisterX "insider" "forza_maniac" which even if true which I doubt. He would be talking about PC CPU and GPU since they said in other articles they haven't even started on console versions. I'm sure MisterX will somehow spin it to be talking about the Xbox1 thou

Ezz20133527d ago

@neonridr
Better Question :

*Harvery Dent, Can He Be Trusted?*

Raiz3527d ago

he shared some images from his meeting with developers..... but still reported as RUMOR...

TFJWM3527d ago (Edited 3527d ago )

So his proof that they really said this to him is some pictures of people eating lunch and a sweatshirt that says "DEVTEA" on the arm and AC(symbol) Unite on the back?

Yes that totally changes his statements from RUMOR to truth....

christocolus3527d ago (Edited 3527d ago )

Regarding the article two sources were actually provided, Justin Robey and a mr X insider. I don't know about the other guy but Justin Robey isn't an insider. I actually follow him on tweeter. he has worked on a few xbox one exclusive games and some more in development.

Majin-vegeta3527d ago

I have no problem with Robey.I;'m more questioning mister x so called "insider".

Volkama3527d ago (Edited 3527d ago )

Working on games isn't enough to qualify someone as an insider? What, do we only take in-game characters as reliable sources now?

Hmmm now that you mention it I would quite like to know what the Master Chief thinks of all this.

Death3527d ago

In game characters are the ultimate insiders. I just returned from Disney and Universal so that one made me laugh.

I have a 5 year old little girl who was very excited to meet the Disney princesses. When we arrived and she met the first one she looked her straight in the eye and said "you're not a real princess, you are just a girl in a costume that looks like a princess." It really set the tone for the week.

Thanks for the chuckle, it made my day.

christocolus3527d ago

@volkama

What are you talking about? He isn't cboat or tidux he doesn't have to use a fake name or hide his identity cos he isn't some low level developer or friend of a developer(who was fortunate enough to get some inside knowledge on the project). The difference here is that he actually works with microsoft. He is a producer at MS&is currently working on some upcoming xbox exclusives. I just felt his position at MS would probably enable him easy acess to some of these games in the first place..

I don't know, maybe I'm getting the definition of an insider all wrong.

@Lennox

Twitter.."Lmao. mixed it all up while typin on my phone. Lol.

Volkama3527d ago (Edited 3527d ago )

Yes you are getting the definition wrong. Insider doesn't mean secret identity or dodgy rumour mo get. it's just someone on the inside of the organisation or entity that has the secrets.

The producer of the games definitely qualifies as an insider.

I was just having some fun with what you said. Nothing personal.

Go_Go_Se7en_303527d ago (Edited 3527d ago )

@Christo...you're 1 of the few posters around here whose comments I normally read & agree with because you post with a different understanding or logic than the majority. Despite what the article says, Forza_Maniac is just a passionate gamer who happened to live/work in the area where Gamescom was held. He was seeking knowledge and was able to get some answers from these dev teams he came across. Being labeled an "insider" automatically put a negative connotation on the subject matter, but the picks and tweets all speak for themselves. Credible devs giving credible answers contrary to media fud. Ppl will downplay/disagree and thats fine. You can lead a horse to water, but you cant make them drink ;)

hello123527d ago (Edited 3527d ago )

Majin@ I agree misterx shouldn't be a source for anything, but you have to look at the tweets.

One Tweet is from https://twitter.com/Robeyon... So you can't dismiss that one easy.

The directx12 quote is not as easy to confirm. Who is the Star Citizen developer who talked about directx12? We don't have a name so its just hearsay.

BallsEye3527d ago (Edited 3527d ago )

Oh yea, he probably forged that picture with the devs as well! THE CONSPIRACY!

3527d ago
aceitman3527d ago

yeah its because of mister x that everyone was hyped up about a secret chip in x1. I thought stuff from him was banned.

corroios3527d ago

Diretx12, Next-Gen GPUs/CPUs, Just a BIG LOL, this was already explained...

Volkama3527d ago

Yes, it has been discussed before. Does that mean nobody else must speak of it?

This is (apparently) a Star Citizen dev discussing DirectX 12 on PC hardware. Someone that could offer some real insight.

Stop Forcing Multiplayer Into Single Player Games

I am in absolute agreement with the OP 👌

shinoff2183374d ago

I hate when I see single player games and see people begging for multi-player. Jeez guys it don't need to be on every game. Latest one I seen was atomic heart.

-Foxtrot373d ago

Multiplayer or even co-op

If it was always a single player game then that's how it is

Inverno373d ago

It's a trend that never really went away. For me multiplayer in a primarily SP focused game was an excuse for DLC. Then there's the mentality gamers had that adding multiplayer makes a game worth the price, otherwise it should be half price for half a game. A way of thinking devs reassured when they started adding multiplayer to their sequels. We see the same with multiplayer focused games getting SP in their sequels.

Flawlessmic373d ago

Tbh multilayer now is a way to add live service and mtx elements, very rarely does it come of well.

What single players game used to be in a lot of cases now require 3 other people for keeping to really enjoy it and I hate having to rely on others to get the maximum from a game.

Sp should be sp, if devs want to add a separate multi mode then that's fine with me, the legends addition to ghost of tshushima was fricking sick but totally separate to the main game. Sick of co op too.

Hofstaderman373d ago

I remember when certain single player games had them as included optional modes that was played on the couch. Had brilliant times with Syphon Filter and Golden Eye. Me and my bro used to used to fight over who would play as Gabe even though it was technically just a skin. Good times.

Dagexon373d ago

I didn't notice your comment before I added mine.
But good times indeed
