Dean “Rocket” Hall hopped off the Gamescom stage and, apparently, headed straight to Reddit to make the case for why a PS4 release is a “win win” for both console and PC versions of the game.

As someone who has been waiting for this on PC to be an acceptable state to play in I don't find this announcement that great. To me, this just gives them more of an excuse to stay in alpha that much longer.

Absolutely not. Firstly they should finish the game on the PC, then think about releasing it on other platforms. A lot of people have already purchased the game on the PC and are waiting for the finished game. I'm glad I didn't buy the game on the PC, otherwise I would be pissed right about now. This game will never leave it's alpha state.

PC has NO benefits from a console version especially after 1.5 years of DEDICATED PC development that will now take a BACK seat to console depending on how much money Sony gave Dean.

BREAKING POINT a whole lot more now. Breaking Point is DayZ but on the Arma 3 Engine with no console development to slow down its progress.

Same CRAP was said about Planetside 2 which went for like 6 months in a broken state while they concentrated on console before finally addressing the PC issues.

and after addressing the PC issues the game was NOT the same as it became very arcade like and less tactical/strategic.

If it wasn't for pc, you would never get western rpg's, first person shooters, and mmo rpgs.
If it wasn't for pc, developers such as Bioware, Bethesda, Irrational Games would have never existed.
If it wasn't for pc, indie games would have never existed. And say what you want about indies, but they proved to be the most innovative genre lately.

Tryed it on PC, IMO it is broken and I would not pay a penny for it. Over the course of what a year + it is still in alpha and is a bug ridden mess. It blows my mind people play it and actually want it.

I'd be excited except for how much negative stuff I've read about DayZ in regards to game issues, glitches, bugs etc. Sounds like an Alpha that isn't going anywhere and now they've got more on their plate with a console version.

I could be wrong, but wasn't there an article awhile back about Dean leaving the project with other people because he wasn't getting anywhere and it would be better for the game if he did? Maybe I'm thinking wrong.

i hate to say it but i think dean has become obsessed with making the most detailed game in history. Its been almost 2 years and there arent even bikes in the game and they just figured out how to get loot to respawn. They seem to be more concerned about the cherries on top rather than the foundation
