When Will PlayStation Plus Subscribers Get AAA PS4 Titles?

This is the heights of ridiculousness. How the hell can anyone expect them to start giving out free games for a system that isn't even a year old? People like this author are the reason the gaming industry is in such a sickening state.

Why would anyone who is a true gamer at heart even expect this? Giving away free AAA games so soon after they release will not be a good thing for the industry. We would have more companies going the route of Airtight Games and crytek.

Some gamers today are becoming more and more idiotic with what they believe they are entitled to. We'll get AAA games when the time is right. Sony delivers, they have proven that time and time again. We need to let the ps4 library grow before we can expect these sort of games.

The First AAA Title is Driveclub and that comes in October, last I checked it was suppose to be a launch title for PS4 and available for Plus subscribers day one!

What AAA games are available for Games With Gold on XBO? Didn't both these consoles just launch in November? Their catalog of AAA games are rather small and most these games have to have sold a certain amount before they can be offered on PS+ or GWG before Sony and MS can foot the bill to offer it for free.

This idiot who wrote this article is one of the reasons why game journalism is so crappy. unless its first party, Both Sony and MS have to be willing to fork over hundreds of thousands to the developer/publisher to insure sales aren't lost for a period of time. you cant expect new games that have released on these consoles to be Offered on Plus... it took years before mega franchises like Assassin's creed was offered on Plus or Batman on GWG. and Plus has been hugely successful for Sony on PS3 and Vita LONG before PS4 was around.

Expecting AAA this early is stupid. A lot of people will be buying PS4's this year and will still pick up launch games, If they are still selling they wont give them away. The only way I can see a AAA game given away this side of 2015 is if a studio wants to promote a sequel. WE could get AC4 a month or two before the next installment. AC3 was given away last summer when AC4 was announced.

I subscribe to PS Plus solely for the fun $15 or less titles. Everything else is icing for me. Still, they can improve. Rather than offering AAA titles several months to years after launch, Sony should just offer Day 1 discounts on AAA exclusives.

My PS+ subscription ends in a few months. If Sony doesn't start offering better games for the PS4, no way in hell I'm renewing it. Don't care for online, I mostly play single player games. If I feel the need to play multiplayer, I have the PC for that.

That's funny, as most of the ps+ offerings have been giving a lot of single player experiences.

I just don't get people's expectations of these two services. Supply and demand dictates AAA prices, and Sony purchasing those licensing agreements is what brings those games available.

The absurdity in some of these, "I'm canceling" complaints always baffles me. I wish I could keep up with the six games a month that they give me.

Just because Sony offers those "free" games, doesn't mean I'm going to waste my time playing them. If I'm not interested in those games, I simply don't play them. I'm not going to force my self to play all those games.
If you feel forced to play all those games simply because they are offered for "free", then you're a sad person.

As for PS4 PS+ offerings until now, I've only played, or felt interested, in 1 or 2 games out of all those games "offered". 50€ a year, that's a very sh*tty deal for me.

... and by the way, before you start with those PS3/Vita games offered with PS+, I don't give a crap about those games since I don't have a PS3/Vita.

There is really no need for Sony to offer them. The system is selling well and right now there isn't much to choose from. Knack should be the first one but I think there is some sort of Metacritic score it has to reach in order to qualify so that won't happen with that game if that's the case.

Driveclub will be free but only part of the game. Good thing people called them out on what they intended too otherwise they planned to lock the game to your PS+ account even if you bought it after online.

I bought my Vita on launch day and also got PS+ on day one. I have had so many free games from PS+ that I haven't had to buy a Vita game so long its stupid.

If you had PS+ on PS3 you could have been downloading the Vita games this whole time just in case you ever bought a Vita. All you had to do was cancel the download and they would be in your list forever.

You can't blame them your your choice to wait.

I am not asking for AAA games but I just checked this month's offerings and I have to admit I am disappointed to say the least. Like I said I'm not expecting the highest budget blockbusters for ps4 right away but can we at least get something that couldn't be played on a NES or a mobile phone?

Can we at least admit that this retro styled Indie thing is getting seriously out of hand?? I get that it's a means of keeping production costs down but there are ways to do that without having to do the same overused 'retro' thing. It's the lack of creativity that bugs me about it. This whole 'Not so much a game as an experience in a beautiful 8bit world' thing is starting to get just as hack and cliché as the macho Michael Bay set pieces of AAA games. I don't want to play as a gruff thirty something humourless badass antihero with a gun out for revenge and giant set piece explosions but I'm also getting seriously sick of walking through an 8 bit inspired forest while listening to you read poetry about your grandmother's struggle with cancer. Surely there's something we can get between these two hacky extremes.

This month sucked 100%, but all others had good games.

Don't Starve, Resogun, Strider, Contrast and Outlastalready are much worth 50 USD.

Mercenary Kings, Doki Doki and Stick it to the Man are very nice games too, if you consider the package value.

Finally... Trine 2. The game is pure magic.

Would I like TLOU, Diablo and Shadows of Mordor on PS+? Sure, but let's be realist here...

I have both ps4 / xbox

got the xbox in november / ps4 in april, so far the only decent free game on the xbox was max:Cotb on the ps4 stick it to the man. my ps plus ran put last week, I haven't bothered renewing it don't see the point till that one free game is out that makes me want it.

PS+ will not get to the current state of its PS3 version for years.

The same is true for Xbox gold. But in fairness I think you will see ryse and dead rising 3 hit before you see killzone of Second son. Knack that will be first.

Am personally happy with the titles am getting from PS+. If it was not for Sony and the odd youtuber. I would never of known about these little titles. Stuff like Trine 2, Resogun ect are fantastic.

I think we will seeing retail titles maybe starting next month? I mean publishers like Ubisoft and EA are going to be releasing titles like Assassin's Creed Unity and FIFA ect so maybe will give us Assassin's Creed 4 and FIFA 14?

from everythin i have read a game has to get 70 on metacritic to qualify for the igc if true the following retail games qualify:

TLOU remastered, Rayman Legends, Fifa 14, A realm reborn, battlefield 4, nba 2k14, tomb raider definitive edition, Black flag, lego marvel, mlb 14, watch dogs, injustice gold edition, nfs rivals, second son, wolfenstein: new order, swap force, trials fusion, cod, mgs v, just dance 2014, maddn 25, shadowfall, lego hobbit, lego movie.

a few of them are too new for the igc

I have no complaints with Killzone: SF being labeled AAA, as it is moreso, than Titanfall, which is a less complete title. And Infamous:SS is a solid 9/10 game, for a Infamous fan, who has completed the other 2 titles.
I guess is the true sense of AAA, Wii-U is the ONLY machine that has mustered up 1 AAA worthy title, in Mario Kart 8, & that took them 1.5yrs after the machine launched....And NO, as a Wii-U owner, I certainly do not consider Mario 3D World to be of a AAA standard, as it feels the opposite of what it is called & advertises as, in that it feels more a cheap 2.5D, Crash Bandicoot throwback, & it doesn't even compete with Mario Sunshine, let alone Galaxy or the pinnacle Mario standard in Mario64. So, both PS4 & XBOne do not have a single 10/10 definitive 10/10 exclusive (or even 3rd party) on there machines at this stage... But, they do have some awesome multiplats, such as Wolfenstein & a select few others, as well as some damn fine exclusives, that are more than worthy of my time, until the big hitters arrive & I can barely keep up.. I already have a decent collection of games on my PS4, double my Wii-U, which I've had for over a year more... Games like AC, NFS:R, Infamous:SS, KZ:SF, COD:Ghosts, BF4, Wolfenstein, Watchdogs, Trials: Fusion, are those that spring to mind (& I think there are 2-3 more, I've forgotten), & to be honest, I am still playing GTA5, TLOU, & a mass of others, that I;ve not finished on PS3 & X360.... So, I have the best of both worlds, & I dread the impending unflux of PS4 & Wii-U titles that will hit like a Tsunami & flood me, thus slowly phasing out my PS3/360 time.
