PlayStation Outsells Xbox 3 to 1

So According To An Article On Polygon Sony’s PlayStation Continues To Dominate The Market!
Comparing Sony’s latest financial report to that of Xbox’s sales. The PlayStation systems outsold the Xbox systems 3 to 1.
The combined sales of the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 3 totaled near 3.5 million units in the first quarter while in 2013 the sales were only 1.1 million units sold. Microsoft’s financial reports came through with sales of the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 of around 1.1 million units of the first three months of the financial year thus proving PlayStation outsold the Xbox 3 to 1. Sony has also confirmed they’ve made about 2.5 billion dollars in sales generated from game sales and network services like PlayStation plus.

And Indies are the blood and bone of this gaming era. Saying that there are many Indies in PS4 is a really good thing. The more, the better.

Good AAA take at least an year to be developed and that if they are lucky. AAA take to many resources now a days. You'll be lucky if you have one AAA per month and a half that you like. Indies games will fill that time. More over, some Indie games have better quality than some AAA games, so, it's always a win-win situation.

Dude PS4 isnt even a year old, just released Infamous, MLB the Show and about to release Drive Club. Then Little Big Planet 3...not to mention the best console version of every multiplat and by far the best indies.

I think they need to speed up with the indies. I'm having more fun with them than just about every AAA title out there right now. Those are the games that dare to be different, and they're not all 8 or 16 bit throwback games. Right now War Thunder gets more playtime than any other game I own... and it was free!

Many are melodramatic like the service is a failure, and they are all stating the same things. Own both, so not being biased here. This actually worries me a bit. You want them both to sell well as competition is what ultimately benefits the gamers. My figures are not entirely accurate because if Sony didn't have the PlayStation division they wouldn't have the expenses of that division either which would affect their profits. But you get the general idea.

On the contrary to what most people believe the PlayStation division isn't the biggest or most profitable division that Sony has. Their financial division is the biggest part of their firm that makes them the most profit. The movies division is also extremely important to them as well as their mobile decision.

As for Microsoft most of their profits come from Office, windows and cloud services. The Xbox division barely makes any profit in comparison to those 3 core divisions.

How are these negative things? external power brick, less internal heat generation, which means cooler running console. Swappable rechargable (or disposable as you say) batteries, instant full charge whenever the controller dies. Yes, there is upfront cost of rechargables, but you use them in all controllers in the living room and they last years and years. Plus, no inconvenience of plugging in a wire to the controller to continue playing or charging between sessions.

I guess it just depends on personal preferences. I.e.: i bought the bundle with killzone, infamous and knack-played the first two, then traded inf. and knack for tlou and nba2k14. Seriously, infamous second son was an ok game, but i couldn't be bothered to play through second time(tried, but got the neon powers and just stopped playing). And knack is neither for me nor for me son. He prefers angry birds and stardust hd, being under 3 years old and such xD so out of those games, the nba2k keeps me going, can't stop' playing my career. Tlou will have to wait till i get my ps plus subscription so i can play the mp.

Microsoft screwed up at launch you swear it was level playing field throughout. Plus Microsoft was never going to be leading Sony anyway's. Sony has been in the console business longer than Microsoft and have a larger fanbase worldwide.

Take history into account, PS3 launched a year late, at $600, with a barebones network, with inferior multiplats, with terrible marketing, and media doom and gloom… everywhere Sony and its fans looked.

PS3 still outsold the 360 practically every year, and if both consoles had launched simultaneously, PS3 would be 11 million units ahead in sales, rather than tying at the end of a generation, and PS3 still selling more as its popularity continues.

PS4 has NONE of those disadvantages and both consoles launched simultaneously, so, I'm willing to bet and bet LARGE that the sales gap won't only remain, but get larger as Sony releases their big guns and their cycle gets truly rolling ;)

Sony turned a 600 million profit for one quarter. Its not enough money to finance AAA titles. This money will have to go to other projects and squaring up debts.

DELUSIONAL is what you are. Sony has invested more into PlayStation division than they ever have. They invested in having superior hardware that fanboys like yourself told me they wouldn't be able to do. They invested in Gaikai. They invested in an improved network. They have more games in production than they ever have. They have more devs making new AAA IPs for their new console than they ever have.

And all of this was DURING them making yearly losses. They were making losses during the PS3 years, and they still financed AAA titles.

You enjoy spreading these lies as you think they will catch on, but all it proves is that if Sony has been releasing less AAA games for PS4, it can be attributed to them keeping their resources focused on actually supporting their PS3 in its latter years, unlike a certain other company that you are comparing the exclusive output to.

AGAIN… Sony has released more first party AAA exclusives than Microsoft has so far this gen, and that's saying something.

Then we might see you owning up to another reality, just like you have been forced to own up about Sony's dominance on the market being a reality, through factual presentation.

There aren't really any compelling exclusives from Sony yet. TLOU and second son are the only ones that have me interested. looking forward to uncharted, the order and bloodborn.

On the other hand I really enjoyed Dead rising 3 and titanfall and look forward to the masterchief collection. but my tastes are partial to competitive multiplayer

that white destiny ps4 is tempting tho

News flash just because you personally don't like sony's exclusives doesn't mean everyone else thinks like you.

The PS4 has been getting great releases every month unlike the xbone. The last notable release was way back in March. If anyone's going to be saying "console haz no gamez! hur dur!" it should be towards the xbone.

It is your taste and I respect that!
I can only speak for myself, but I'll take Uncharted/the last of us/God of war over any game on Xbox1 or Xbox360.
I'm not a big shooter Fan so it is obvious I didn't follow the Titanfall hype.

Playstation offers the most diverse gaming catalogue on planet earth.
Why would I trade that for shooters and racing games?
And as listed above the Critics are pleased way more with what Sony Playstation has to offer than Microsoft.That my sir is a FACT.
