So all they did was raise the resolution, enabled anisotropic filtering, improved shadow maps if you lock frames at 30fps, and tweaked the contrast/saturation/brightness ...

Remastering typically involves re-texturing the whole game, adding new graphical features like tessellation, HBAO+, full dynamic lighting + shadows, and perhaps remastering the music to a higher fidelity bitrate/format.

They seem to have done none of this, and want to charge $60 for it. lol. I'm sure it's a great game even though it's clearly a rip off of Dawn of the Dead, 28 days later, and I am Legend. You guys can't deny that last part, it's so obvious.

though i agree it doesnt look remastered enough,
it IS the best looking game on ps3 and improving it significantly would need a great deal of time and effort,which could impede with other games.
this re is meant for those that never played the ps3 version and not feel like an old gen game,which it doesnt. id rather have them move on now.
also i dunno what the fuss is all about when ive seen people double dip tomb raider with far less rambling.i mean it wasnt an exclusive,not better than tlou,and not better looking either

personally though i would have preferred a remaster 5-7 years down the line. i think they could have gone with not naming this version remastered and just tlou for ps4 ,with obvious improvements.

Don't see the need to purchase this game again if you already own it for your PS3. The improvements do not WOW me. I will pass on this. All games I purchase for my PS4 must be unique experiences I cannot get on the PS3.

Same. The frame rate is the key factor for me. The visual difference isn't going to effect the overall experience for me but the increased fluidity will.

I'll be waiting for a sale or possibly a trade in copy.

I'll be trading in my ps3 copy of it since I don't have my ps3 anymore. So it will be like $25 that I have to pay for it. There's not much difference here though.

Ive no issue with the game its one the best I've ever played but as with the Masterchief collection i feel its to early for this game to have a remaster.

Halo 2 on its own would have been enough. I personally think a game needs time on a shelve before it needs this treatment.

Doesn't make it any less off a game but as proven in the past with ICO Zelda etc games that are worth there salt will have a fan base years after there release and bringing them games back will be all that more special.

Don't get me wrong i like what they have done with TLOU and MCC just feels a bit off a cash in esp in the likes off Halo4 and TLOU.

I'm one off those that believes these games are filler till next gen content floods the market to keep peoples interest.

After watching that comparison, I feel like the PS4 version has that Soap Opera effect you get with TVs that simulate 240Hz. I think that feeling is only because I'm watching the game and not playing it cause I don't get that feeling when playing PC games or any other game at 60 fps. I don't remember if I noticed that effect on other PS4 or XBO titles that are at 60 fps, though.
Oh well, one more day and I can find out for myself. I wish PS had started the preloading with TLOU. It sucks that only the EU has this feature for TLOU.

no, im paying 50$ for the game of the generation with upgraded graphics,AA,draw distance, twice the framerate and almost twice the content,one of the few games that is worth purchasing twice a game that i feel like $60 was too cheap for the quality that i got with TLOU, a game that I regret not buying the survivor collectors edition at first, a game with over 200 GOTY wards and a ton of perfect scores, a game that is a Masterpiece, a game that set a new standard, a game that will be copied in the future, just like uncharted was copied with the tomb raider reboot. a game that i will always remember.

What a great way to remember just how epic the ps3 version was. Sure, it looks better now on ps4, but these side by sides really still showcase the ps3. I can't wait to see what naughty dog can push out of the ps4 in 4-5 years!
