See How Halo 2: Anniversary's Cinematics for Xbox One Stack Up Against The Original-Video Comparison

The original Halo 2 released on the Xbox and PC on November 9th, 2004. Obviously with any 10 year old game, the graphics aren’t impressive when faced against the games of today.

Halo 2 Anniversary is in development and will launch with the Master Chief Collection on the Xbox One, and with Microsoft revealing a new Cinematic Trailer for the Halo 2 portion, we just couldn’t keep ourselves from seeing how far the looks have changed.

I agree. What 343 did with halo CEA was great and this one looks more impressive too. That said Halo 2 the original still looks amazing even for a 10 year old game shows what power the Xbox and the talent bungie had one this game. Can't wait to get Halo Collection and Halo games are really something special.

IDC what system everyone pledges their allegiance to.. there is always space for halo in my heart... This is incredible this is really "REMASTERED". This is why i have a Xbox one along with ps4 and wii u i can't miss out exclusives for all 3. When you hear that Halo theme you know shits going down i remember riding the scorpion tank the theme came on i was blowing shit up crushing aliens beneath me i cannot wait for this!

Yeah every time I hear that Halo theme it sends shivers. I went PS4 so far this gen. If I don't get an Xbox One for Forza2, I know I won't be able to resist the master chief collection. Even after playing the Destiny beta it reminded me how much I miss Halo..

Right now I believe that 343 can make a masterpiece with Halo 5. Corrine Yu's departure isnt going to affect the graphics because she wasnt even the one that made the graphics for Halo 4. They have over 300 people working on Halo 5 and industry leading graphic programmers that have been working on Halo 5 for years, and with the boost from dx12 and yeah whatever the cloud can help out with, I wouldnt be surprised if Halo 5 comes close to whatever Naughty Dog comes up with in Uncharted 4.

I believe Halo 5 will be one of the best looking games this gen. The tech&effort the guys at 343i are putting into that game is mind blowing and they have multiple graphics teams all working on their engines. MS said the first games built with dX12 will be releasing fall 2015 and its no coincidence Halo5 will be out just within that time frame. Coincidence? I guess not.

And about corrine yu I don't think she had any real input into halo4 or halo 5 graphics engine. She was a great coder but im sure 343i won't be missing her much cos they've got some really bad ass graphics coders at the studio and they have been recruiting still. Tim longo is there too and from that article corrine yu actually never played a major role at 343i...

Honestly I think Remedy = Naughty Dog in terms of Amazing looking Cinematic Action.

I agree 343 has an excellent team, Halo 4 was beautiful. And since they want to build on halo 4s strengths while not repeating their flaws...I have faith in them bringing Halo into new light.

I know N4G will condemn me for what I'm saying but I still think Quantum Break will be a real contender for Uncharted 4. Remedy has the talent, and Quantum Break is a very new idea and it's all about execution at this point.

Halo 5, should benefit most from not having to run 2 graphics engines; thus freeing up more eSRAM to be used as a frame buffer or for tiled resources etc. The game should also benefit from the new SDKs and a 3 year development cycle.
