As much as I love raimi's older work his most recent films havent been the best, but then again they were huge blockbuster projects tied to massive film studios, they don't really let an Auteur shine on those types of projects, so I'm hopeful we'll see a return to form from Raimi on this one :D

Josh Brolin for Joel. Not only did Troy Baker use Brolin as inspiration for the role, he even looks like Joel.

I would not be opposed to Jackman, I just don't think he is a good fit.

Sam Raimi is an OK director for "first shots". He is HORRIBLE with sequels.

If Raimi is involved don't be surprised by Campbell's appearance as they are buddies. Also, Raimi likes to cameo himself or his brother, Ted, into his movies usually.

Horrible with sequels? Are you kidding? Spiderman 2 and Evil Dead 2 are landmark cinematic achievements. Army of Darkness is really fun, and Spiderman 3 would have been fantastic without Sony's meddling (IE without venom or the symbiotes). Other than those, he's never done a sequel, so his track record is pretty stellar.

This movie (if done right) needs to be at least a two part movie, period. You need to build characters and wanting the viewers to understand their story and love them as if they are with them while it all happens and you can't cram all of TLOU into one 2 hour movie. You need the story of Joel prior to the out break same for Ellie but with her friend prior to Joel.. Also so much happens in the game.. Just can't cram it without cutting into the story, without cutting into us liking the characters.

I don't think Sam Raimi would be right for this adaption, I enjoyed Evil Dead 2 and Spiderman 2 but his past movies prove that he's far too goofy for a subject matter like TLOU.

Heck I think turning TLOU is very unnecessary, the narrative worked as game because your the driving force ,the 12-15 hours you're playing it you're connecting with the world, the characters like Ellie which is what made it so powerful for some.

The difference between games and movies is that we interact with games, movies interact with us, that's why VG movies have never and will never work.
