Sometimes when you are playing online, you might find that you are often disconnected from your online gaming sessions on the PS4 and PS3, or that your ping is too high. One way to try and solve this issue is to change your NAT type (network address translation) for the PS4 or PS3, and you should notice a significant improvement in your online gaming.

Plenty of unforgettable games have completely messed up their players throughout the years, all the way back from the PS1 days to the dark recesses of the modern internet.
Games such as Mad Max, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Batman: Arkham Knight desperately deserve a modern-day revisit.
RDR2 still looks astounding on PS4 Pro. i cannot imagine how it could look with a next gen upgrade.
they describe NAT 2 as the best one but i got major headaches getting a single item i wanted traded on Warframe due to Strict Nat type 2, you can say it ruins the experience when you really need something, waste hours looking for someone to trade for the end result being you cannot trade due to strict nat, i will give this a go and see if a different one works better, useful article.
They say they don't recommend setting a static IP and putting ps4 into a DMZ but I disagree. If you set a static IP and you're sure the IP is correct. DMZ is the way to go on a console. Never have to worry about ports being open and virus' are a non issue for consoles
Nat 2 just means you're behind a firewall or something usually. Nat 3 is the bad one. You can also try just setting up your network manually under 'network' on the PS4. Just copy the DNS, Gateway, etc. down and type them back in manually, then change the last digits of the IP address after the last "." to any digits, probably a single digit to not interfere with anything else. That way you make the IP address static, if it's not already. Sometimes this fixes Nat problems.
Does this work for the Vita? my Vita is at NAT 3, while my PS3 is NAT 2
@nope - Yes it should, because the ports are the same for PSN and Sony stuff
