Thats great and all but my question is whether 1080p will really benefit the Xbox One. Don't just up the resolution. You want to at least maintain the same level of detail as the 900p beta; which by the way looks close enough.

Well I've played the beta for the ps4 and x1 and can confirm that the ps4 version is better. Less screen tearing, better textures, less jaggies and better lighting.

Some people are not sensitive to tearing at all, but if you know tearing is a problem for you and you are playing destiny I'd like to hear what you've found!

Volkama I am super sensitive to screen tearing and haven't seen it on either beta.

They both look nearly identical to me.

The only difference I've actually noticed is that the PS4 version looks darker. (yes I calibrated the brightness properly)

And the load times are MUCH faster on my XB1, but only because I have it installed on my external drive that speeds up everything.

I clocked a full load from the tower to the free roam area at 1:30 on PS4, and about 45 seconds from my XB1 external HDD.

But again, that's with a 150 dollar add on hard drive. I'm not trying to say the XB1 version will have faster load times by default because I'm sure it doesn't.

I'm trying to understand how changing the tv settings effects this video when as far as i know... Capture cards bypass the tv picture.

The tv picture is the end result, the tv isn't going to resend that picture back through a recording device.

I have a ps4 this time around but frankly who cares? You will be hard pressed to be able to tell the difference if you don't have a 4k or high end HD TV.

Also, how long is this stupid debate going to go on for when we know the xbone is slightly below par to the ps4's processing power? I don't see many of these people going on about how much more better it looks on PC compared to ps4 or other games.

Don't like these articles then stay out of them. This is something that will continue the rest of the generation so get used to it. And it doesn't require a "high" end HDtv, just a HDtv is all. Cause you can't compare this to PC, cause it is not coming to the PC. So you have to compare it to the consoles that it is out for.

I agree completely!! I knew the PS4 was/is more powerful before i bought a next gen console and i still went with an xbox one for the extra 100 squid and the kinect included. Ps4 games may perform/look better than their competitors counterparts. I as an xbox gamer got over this fact a long time ago. I dont believe any secret sauce is coming for the xbox one. But i believe there are some great games coming, and that my friends is the reason i bought a console in the first place. To play games.

I put the power difference comparison forward as a knee jerk response to the amount of articles that compare every type of blade of grass between the console versions of every multiplatform game that video footage is available.

I dont try to downplay anything. The PS4 version looks better in all the comparisons i've seen. Am i going to buy a PS4 because of it? No, i have it pre-ordered for xbox one and will jump into the beta tonight after work. At the end of the day it is still exactly the same game.

In a nutshell, the beta is at 900p because it was developed before Microsoft freed up the reserve horsepower that was going into mandatory kinect functionality. Since then bungie has stated that they will be able to hit 1080p 30fps (same as ps4) for the final product but that the update did not become available in time to effect the beta's resolution.

I had to laugh at your gluing the Kontrol Freeks to your DS4 sticks statement, as I did the exact same thing and they are perfect. It raises the sticks to the perfect level for comfort and precise control. I suggest it to anyone who has a PS4, you can try it without glue first... But with any type of decent play, they tend to pop off. Superglue permanently fixes that issue.

It felt so good to play Destiny last night with the XBO controller and at the same time i missed the DS4 only because of the touch pad ease....but Destiny being the first time i really played my launch PS4 i hate everything about the DS4 sticks. the PS4 beta is 1080p while the XB1 is 900p upscaled to 1080p

so of coarse the 1080p one will be easier on the eyes..

The only site that'll spot minuscule differences is Eurogamer's Digital Foundary.. using retail copies of which will both run at 1080p.

If that's your attitude, I hope you didn't buy a PS4.. if your primary concerns are microscopic differences in graphics that you'd never notice under normal circumstances, then surely you have a high-end gaming PC so that you can enjoy the massive difference in graphics that it provides over consoles..

Let's not pretend that the Xbox One version isn't going to provide an identical gaming experience.. as long as game reviews and reviewers are rating the PC, PS4, and XBO versions of games equally, that means that my gaming experience on a Xbox One is no different than your gaming experience on a PS4 in terms of "pure gaming"..
