I can actually see a difference.

It looks compressed on X1 while the PS4 looks sharper.

Insomnia_843564d ago

I'm not sure if it was because the guy moved the camera around too fast on PS4 and slower on XBone but a noticed framerate drops on the Xbox One.

AngelicIceDiamond3564d ago

So far I haven't experienced frame rate drops really.

Some minor ones here and there but nothing annoying however.

thrust3564d ago

The beta on ps4 is 1080p and one the xbox one is 900p there will be a difference!

tbone5673564d ago

PS4 looks much grainer and blurrier. XB1 looks more sharp.

Kavorklestein3564d ago

It WAS because he was turning slower.
I used to have a PC that could max out Skyrim, and when I would turn at a slow enough rate, (while playing with a controller, never happened while using a mouse) the game would chop up, even tho I was running 75-85 fps on the game, no matter how much action was on screen.

It happens in other games too, it's just the way certain games react to pressure sensitive turn speeds via a analog controller. A mouse can't cause this problem unless you have the steadiest hand ever, that applies pressure evenly for a slow crawl with no screw ups. Whereas a controller, can spin the camera around in circles infinitely with the pressure being held at the same point, which is MUCH less difficult to do. I'm pretty sure The person who made this video has experienced the same thing playing on all kinds of platforms, (maybe he hasn't determined that it's near impossible to do with a mouse) but he probably knows you can do this in many games and did this just to make the xbox one look bad. The place where it chopped up was when there was actually less on screen than before too, so that's how you know that it's due to the turn speed.

Also, the vegetation never moved in a choppy way, just the actual camera. if it was framerate, the entire frame would be effected, not just the movement of the camera within the environment.

I find it amazing that xone fans suddenly accept there is a difference at higher resolutions, before resolution didn't matter

KnightRobby3564d ago

I have played hours of the PS4 version and finally got into the Xbox One version tonight.

There is no difference. I cannot see it. TV size, distance from TV, etc all matter. The final product for the X1 will be running at 1080p and Bungie is intimately familiar with Microsoft's hardware.

They both provide an awesome experience anyway and that is why I play Destiny.

nicksetzer13564d ago

Idk what the point of this comparison is... they have said over and over that the XB1 beta is old code and will be 1080p native at launch. So who knows how they will compare, but this isn't going to be tue thing to answer that.

ravinash3564d ago

Both versions look good to me, will it really matter when your in the middle of a game if the plant a few feet away from you is a little fuzzy?
You wouldn't notice unless you had both games running side by side.

gaffyh3564d ago

Very negligible differences, Xbox One seems to have slightly less defined trees, though the colours are a bit darker. Can't really see any difference unless side by side, so not a bad effort by Bungie.

DigitalHope3563d ago

You can really see a difference. The PS4 is better but this is a completely unfair comparison. Destiny in that video is 900p and at release it will be 1080p. Compare them then and only then.

TheRedButterfly3563d ago

Yeah that's definitely the giveaway. The resolution was hard to spot at first, but I eventually noticed it in the panels of the distant structure.

:) Glad both XO and PS4 will be running at full parity though. The amount of crap that X platform has given Y platform (and vice versa) is starting to get annoying, so I'm glad that Bungie squashed all of that crap and is offering truly identical games outside of the timed exclusivity and the controller prompts.

it is compressed beta wise since its 900p on x1 & 1080o ps4

LonDonE3564d ago

@AngelicIceDiamond
Agreed i have it on X1 and PS4 and have switched input to see difference and i noticed straight away the PS4 version is more crisp and for me seems like lighting is a bit better too, also the x1 version has more aliasing and look soft while the PS4 version looks crisp and pops!

Its understandable i suppose since the PS4 version is native 1080p being played on a 1080p screen for most while the x1 is up-scaled!

The both run pretty much the same for me, frame rate seems fine on both.
But i swear it the way light bounces off everything looks better on my PS4 compared to my X1 but obviously X1 is known to crush blacks and look darker overall!
for me i prefer the PS4 version, but it will be nice to compare both once both versions of the full game are out, since bungie did say the X1 version would be 1080p by launch but since its near to launch i think most likely it will be patched in after!

AngelicIceDiamond3564d ago

I think your taking it just a bit too far but sure, I agree.

poor_cus_of_games3564d ago

On the ps4 you should change the RGB display to full. It really makes a huge difference on the colours and really dark blacks.

Greyfoxdbz3564d ago

Comparing the beta at this point might be redundant. Bungie has brought the Xbox one version up to 1080p instead of the 900p we see in the beta. I played this beta on my PS3 so any of the current gen consoles will be an upgrade for me. I'll be happy when i finally get it for my PS4

XxExacutionerxX3564d ago

Lol Wow, stop lying to yourself sony fanboy. Xbox One version isn't washed out like the Ps4 verison is as far as color. Ps4 is not sharper looking, lol

jagermaster6193564d ago

Its only 900p right now for the beta they claim it will be 1080p when it launches so I'm sure we will see a needed increase but I really don't see a huge difference

ramiuk13563d ago

the thing that im getting fed up with is the fact it looks alot better on my ps4 and tv,youtube, twitch etc are compressed garbage that need sorting

TheXgamerLive3563d ago

Yes there is a difference, as usual the Xb1 vedsion has a bit more color and details, however a couple times tbe ps4 had better lighting however this is dualshockers so of course they'd try to tip tbe scales.
What gets me is all tbe lieing denying sony fan boys. Your own eyes see which looks better damn yet you still lie. Wow.

objects seem darker on the xbox one, on the ps4 random objects pop out just a little bit more

imt5583564d ago

If objects are darker, then it's a crushed black issue.

Kavorklestein3564d ago (Edited 3564d ago )

It really all just depends on what the object is, the hood of the car with snow on it looks almost the exact same amount of aliasing on it's white edge, and other items (depending on the distance from the player) look better or worse on either. But not by much, and certainly not enough to matter, especially when we know these are both at different resolutions.
The full game is not different rez, the Beta IS, but example is pretty much what is to be expected when there is a difference in Resolution.

I'd recommend watching the people streaming on twitch for a better idea of how it looks in motion, and you can also see that the framerate is holding up quite well.

larrysdirtydrawss3563d ago (Edited 3563d ago )

that's not a goog thing,,especially when those objects arent suppose to be that dark.crushed again

Scarfy + 14h ago
To my eyes, the PS4 boosts minor improvements over the XBox One. Doubtful players will notice when the game is in motion and you're too busy fighting.

Good work, Bungie, seems you're making an incredible effort to make the game the very best you can on each platform.

not sure about that, you mean make it as good as you can get it on xone, while making the ps4 version just as good/slightly better as the xone version(near parity)...meaning the ps4 was obviously held back for parity(ps4 slightly better)... so no,they didn't get all they could get out of the ps4,it was held back to make things close. welcome to the world of near parity

zsquaresoff3564d ago

Comparison videos on youtube are pointless. Even if there is a difference, can't really spot it because of youtube compression.

bunt-custardly3564d ago

Then look at the screenshots...

Volkama3564d ago (Edited 3564d ago )

Comparison videos that appear after confirmation that at least one version is not representitive of the release candidate is a pointless endeavour in itself (bordering on FUD).

HeWhoWalks3564d ago

Can't be "the very best" on each platform when talking about parity.

NatureOfLogic_3564d ago (Edited 3564d ago )

The graphics are not really impressive compared to other games I've played on my PS4. I believe Xbox One parity is really holding this game back a lot graphically. I know It's just a beta, but I don't expect a graphical upgrade in final version. I actually expect PS2 a free to play game to look better on PS4.

AngelicIceDiamond3564d ago

"I believe Xbox One parity is really holding this game back a lot graphically."

And I bet you couldn't be more wrong. Because if that were least bit true COD Ghost and BF would be running at 720p on PS4.

Reality must be hard on you.

The only thing I noticed was slight compression on X1. It wasn't that big of a difference I had to watch it twice to see the small detail.

imt5583564d ago (Edited 3564d ago )

Well, i think it's not. Game is a CROSS-GEN! Game looks pretty, but it is not a graphical showcase.

@starrman1985

Quote :

Xbone - Contrast seems better (I'm assuming the author ran them both on the same screen settings..)

It's a crushed black problem then. You know about "higher" contrast issue in BF4 or COD : Ghost on Xbone? Sounds familiar, right?

Destiny Made Over $160 Million In Microtransaction Revenue In Less Than 2 Years

Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.

Sgt_Slaughter331d ago

That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it

LucasRuinedChildhood331d ago (Edited 331d ago )

This was back when the game wasn't free to play.

The figures are from November 2017 to February 2019 (1 year and 4 months).

Based on that projection, the MTX revenue for Destiny 2 likely would have been closer to ~$240m for 2 years.

Not sure if premium expansions are included in that figure either although ... I'd hope that they are though and that most of the revenue was for actual content like Forsaken.

People spend way too much money on cosmetics.

Rude-ro331d ago (Edited 331d ago )

Seasons($10 and just got bumped to $12) and dungeon keys($10 each, two a year) are through the eververse(micro transaction) store.
So for those two years, in order to play a season, you would pay through micro transactions.

Sonic1881331d ago (Edited 331d ago )

Bungie Marathon will be worse since it's designed around it as well

Kurt Russell331d ago

It makes me sad to agree... but at the same time I am looking forward to giving it a go. Destiny 2 is so far in, I find it difficult to figure out what I am meant to do first.

buffig331d ago

I think FIFA alone makes over $1bn a year from mtx

anast331d ago

FIFA promotes a worldwide sport. It should make more money than destiny.

CantThinkOfAUsername331d ago (Edited 331d ago )

Let's compare something similar. Apex Legends and its ridiculous $18/$40 skins make EA a billion each year.

z2g331d ago

For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.

spicelicka331d ago

By "people" you're referring to millions and millions of people. Obviously the ones complaining aren't necessarily the same as the ones spending all that money.

There's millions that purchase MTX and there's nothing we can do about it

I've been thinking about playing through D1 again before it goes away...

CobraKai482d ago

That’s the sad reality of a game like this. I bought it, invested lots of money, and it can go away at anytime. I still think this was more fun than 2.

jeromeface481d ago

prob because 2 is a grindfest slog

spoonard479d ago

That's the bummer of 'games as a service'.
