Mini Q&A
Answers by Mike McCain, Studio Art Director / Dragonfall Game Director

Why do you make games?
Game development is performance art. We're passionate about telling great stories and entertaining an audience. We strive to make the kind of games we'd like to play.

Why should people play Shadowrun: Dragonfall?
Our goal with Dragonfall was to craft a classic RPG experience - a game by compelling story, strong characters and meaningful choices. When the game came out, we were extremely proud to hear that these elements really did resonate with players. If you're a fan of classic cRPGs, Dragonfall should be right up your alley!

What element of game design do you hold above all others?
That we don't hold any element above all others. Game design is about balance - it's a give and take. Art compromises must be made to support gameplay or engineering constraints, and vice-versa. If one goal takes too much priority over the others, the whole project suffers. That said, we firmly believe in "finding the fun" and focusing around that. We try to always design for the player's actual experience with a game - and this can be harder than it sounds at times. We might have a bunch of great ideas for game systems or visuals, but the only thing that matters is whether the sum of those parts results in a great experience for the player.

Day 22 | Harebrained Schemes

Salooh3565d ago (Edited 3565d ago )

Looks like a Transistor spin off :) . Less tactic and more action..

Raf1k13564d ago

I think it's a turn based RPG. Isn't Transister the one that's less tactics and more action?

Salooh3564d ago

The gameplay in the video doesn't show it's tactical xP . I thought it's action not turn base.

Raf1k13564d ago

It's not all turn base and tactical.

Since it's an RPG the exploration part of the game allows you to move around and interact with characters and the environment freely. When in combat it changes to a turn-based system.

MrxDeath3565d ago

is it coming to PS4 ?
if yes then i will buy it :3 because it looks great

LightDiego3565d ago

CrimsonAzure3565d ago

That genuinely, genuinely sucks. The reboot has clear flaws, but it really felt like a solid first step for this team to receive *greater* investment.

Alone in the dark is a fun game so that's unfortunate

I enjoyed the demo so I'll be picking this up. The gameplay made me think of Metal Max Xeno so it sold me on it.
