The thing people don't realize is the DLC done by Sony is mostly for marketing purposes.

Realistically the weapons and armor will be outdated or on par of with what's present in the early parts of the game already. It might even have some exclusive Bungie design on it or something.

The exclusive strike missions is really the only thing of worth right out of the gate.

Like I said its just marketing incentives to market the PS4 version of the game.

Still PS4 users get the complete package and the most fun out of their purchase. It's not only weapons and armor, there are some competitive multiplayer maps and cooperative dungeons exclusive as well. And it's only going to increase since the expansions will have exclusive content as well so it definately is a big deal.

You can fool yourself as much as you want into thinking the cod timed dlc is for any reason besides marketing purposes but at the end of the day you'll just be living in a fantasy world.

Timed dlc is a cancer to the gaming world and we have microsoft to thank for that, but at the end of the day it is a terrible practice no matter who does it.

I can understand why sony is doing what the are doing, because they think it's the only way to compete with microsoft who has been doing this crap for years, but this really needs to end.

I can only hope that with sony leading this gen now that publishers take note of the situation concerning EA with titanfall and the report that ubisoft released a few days ago and realize that choosing sides is a waste of time.

With these types of practices we the gamers always loose and the dev companies always win.

The only real complaint as illustrated by IGN is the season pass. If the price is the same and you are getting less content then XB1 owners have a right to complain. Otherwise there really is nothing to complain about.

All of this DLC fragmentation does is divide gamers and that's not really a good tactic from a consumers point of view. From a business point of view it makes more sense though. I guess it all boils down to how good the extra content is.

I still go back to play Titanfall. As one of those people who said it 'gets boring quick' I am really suprised how much it draws you back in, nothing like it on the market.

Be great for all gamers once it goes multiplat everyone can enjoy the fast paced free-running awesomeness (not a massive fan of the Titans although they're the best AI backup imaginable).

As far as Destiny is concerned, I figure its more of an Activision decision to entice PS users into becoming fans, since the Xbox user fan base already exists.

Yes, Bungie wanted to do something different than halo, so they created a new IP game called Destiny. A sic Fi universe with humans battling aliens that look a lot like aliens from another game, and the style is somewhat reminiscent of another game etc etc etc

There will be Destiny, Sunset Overdrive, COD: Advanced Warefare, AC: Unity, Dragon Age, Halo: MCC and many more ALL in Q4 2014 so there will be enough games to play instead of spending tons of hours into one game called Destiny.

I also think that Destiny is a little bit to overhyped.

Graphicswise and in terms of action there is no way to pass COD.

I don't get this lol. Xbox fans are throwing more of a tantrum over Desitny, a game that is MULTIPLATFORM, than Playstation fans did over Sunset Overdrive which obviously will not be on PS4.

So what do Xbox fans have to complain about? The mere fact that PS4 owners will get exclusive content that has already been revealed as TIMED? Is is really that big of a deal? Are Xbox fans seriously that entitled? That's a little scary.

As a Playstation fan, of course I was disappointed to see Sunset Overdrive not coming to my platform of choice, and I had a damn good reason considering Insomniac has been making mostly only Playstation games for nearly 20 years, but did I throw a hissy fit over it? No. Grow up, people.

I agree. I think a lot of PS fans (like myself) wasn't really bothered by the news of Insomniac making a MS exclusive because we've seen how Insomniac has changed over the last decade though. They went from a premiere developer to a slightly above average studio. The Resistance franchise and Ratchet franchise have steadily been getting worse over the years so maybe this is just what Insomniac needs.
It seemed like Insomniac kind of got pissed at Sony because they're games werent marketed very well and they didn't sell very well, but if I was Sony I wouldn't have waisted much money on their games either. If Insomniac was capable of releasing a quality title like ND Sony would've spent that extra money. Sunset Overdrive looks awesome though so hopefully Insomnaic is getting its mojo back.

I only have two guesses as to why Insomniac is only putting Sunset Overdrive on X1: money or IP rights.

Insomniac was basically a Playstation developer for a really long time, but they never allowed Sony to buy them like Naughty Dog, Santa Monica, and Sucker Punch did. It seems as though remaining independent is very important to them. My guess is that, if they did present Sunset Overdrive to Sony, Sony likely wanted to gain rights to the IP. Chances are Insomniac has learned from doing that in the past. Sony owns Ratchet & Clank and, while that's an amazing franchise, they have made way too many of them. Insomniac can't be overly thrilled about seeing one of their creations get milked like that.

The other possibility could be as simple as money. We all know how Microsoft likes to buy off second and third party exclusives, so they may have just pointed a money gun at Insomniac and agreed that the game would not go over to Sony. It could even be a combination of both.

At any rate, given that Microsoft doesn't own Insomniac or the IP, and when you factor in how much better PS4 is selling than X1, I wouldn't be surprised to see the game eventually cross platforms, especially if it doesn't sell very well on X1. Playstation fans can only keep their fingers crossed on this one.

What separates those games you listed and Destiny is significant. The hype for Destiny came only after WE(I didn't get in) got our hands on it. The word of mouth by your fellow gamers, and consumers is where this hype has been generated from.

I'm not too worried about the extra DLC. I'm interested, though, in how the two versions will compare graphically. I don't want 1080/30 if framerate is going to be an issue. The screen tearing with Sniper Elite 3 for Xbox One was ridiculous. I'll take 900/30 with the same AA and everything else to keep the framerate stable. Anything less and I'm going to have to get Destiny for my PS4.

Bungie favoring Sony with DLC is not that big of a deal. If they favor them graphically beyond resolution; such as framerate, then Halo and MS fans have something a little more worth bitching about.
