Games Should Have ESRB Ratings for 'Gay Content'

Max Level: "What about the children?” you ask. “Their young, impressionably innocent minds can’t handle all this natural human development or any semblance of real life.”

And you know? You may be on to something.

So as to not corrupt our youth further, I’ve compiled a small list of other ESRB ratings that need to be expedited as soon as possible – for the children’s sake.

Can you name a E rated game that delves into sexual preferences???

You cannot?

Well then, children should not be a focal point of your argument.

This article better fail. N4G is not a place where people should express their homophobia.

EDIT: Okay, so the "snipet" of the article is completely misleading. Admittedly, I had a blind rage and replied before reading the article (which is why i'm forcing myself to have my original comment still visible, instead of editing it out).

The author expresses how outrageous an ESRB rating of "gay content" is, then takes on a humorous attempt of pointing out other things that should carry ESRB ratings.

The issues i have with the article is, the ESRB doesn't even rate games based off of Gay content. If they have, i've never seen it.

The author has literally made an article about a non-existing issue (ESRB rating games based off of Gay content). Games like Mass Effect 3 are just labeled as strong sexual content, nothing about Gay content.

yamelmegames3576d ago

Have you attempted to read the article? It's explicitly condemning blatant bigotry and homophobia through the use of other wildly stupid ESRB ratings.

Neonridr3576d ago

but who or when was anything to do with gay content ever labelled with ESRB ratings anyways?

The Title of the article is Games should have ESRB ratings for 'Gay Content'. Who ever said that in the first place?

Just seems like a poorly written article to attract hits to me.

There aren't even any examples of games given to help the article out.

Prime1573576d ago (Edited 3576d ago )

It's sarcasm guys... well, angry sarcasm talking about homophobia.

The question is, why did this author write it? Was it just a comment on a board? I'm confused where it stemmed from... still, the author makes a valid argument.

crxss3576d ago

The title of this article needs to be changed to match its content. Pretty hilarious article but the title is misleading.

ShinMaster3576d ago

Are the ESRB and MPAA run by the same people?

JD_Shadow3576d ago

@Prime157: I agree. It seems like this was made in a vacuum. Was there any news about the ESRB even considering doing this anywhere that we missed?

Someone didn't read the article...

My edit: Your edit still doesn't excuse you. You are what is wrong with N4G. You rush to comment on something you know nothing about. It's tiresome and old.

And then you ramble as you try to justify your first nonsensical viewpoint.

ifistbrowni3576d ago

somebody didn't read my edit.

yamel has an excuse, because I was in the process of editing when they commented. However, the edit had been finished before you commented, so... I'm kinda confused on how you missed it.

I'm sticking to my guns. The presentation of the article is entirely mis-leading. I completely disagreed with what the Title and summary have presented (most people will) and I was debating on whether or not I should click the article (generate ad-revenue) and finish reading what other "stupid" things the article had to say.

As I had already pointed out, the author uses the "Gay" thing to point out other ridiculous things that should carry ratings. ESRB doesn't rate based on "Gay Content" so i'm having a hard time understanding what this article is about.

JsonHenry3576d ago

Read the article first next time, lol.

turdburgler10803576d ago

Wasn't the author complaining about a comment someone made in a comment section?

I hope this gets reported....

JBSleek3576d ago

Why it was a funny article.

Romudeth3576d ago

Did you even read the article? Probably not. You just read the headline didn't you?

Rimgal3576d ago

I think you should put an exclamation point in the title of the article. There is a lot of people here that just simply read the title and go by assumptions of what the article may be.

Romudeth3576d ago

That's their problem. People really should actually read the articles before mouthing off without knowing what they're talking about.

ifistbrowni3576d ago

Not many people are going to want to finish reading what the author has to say. I instantly thought it was an "anti-gay" article based on what was presented.

There should be something placed in the summary or title that indicates it as being a humor piece. I was having a serious debate within myself whether or not I wanted to give the website a click (therefore supporting it through ad-revenue).

Spotie3576d ago

Articles shouldn't have misleading titles.

JBSleek3576d ago

It is a satirical article therefore the headline isn't misleading. It actually is a good headline for what the article is saying.

Doubt post...

Dragon Age: Inquisition Retro Review – A Nostalgic Leap Short Of Legendary

Dragon Age: Inquisition, developed by BioWare, is the third installment in the cherished Dragon Age series. It represents a major evolution from its predecessor, Dragon Age II, incorporating elements that were well-loved in the original Dragon Age: Origins but also introducing new features that stand on their own. While Inquisition improves upon Dragon Age II in many respects, it falls short of the exceptional standards set by Origins.

The quality of these free games has been awesome. Before anyone says they are not free I was already giving Amazon $6 a month for prime shipping and video this isn't why I pay for my subscription

Teflon02908d ago

Still technically paying for it, even if it wasn't your intent. They've been giving out games with Twitch prime, they just changed the name. It's the same sub as that was. If you weren't aware, great. But you're paying for it.

That being said, I don't personally care. For me as long as you're willing to pay that for 1 service and get more. I personally take it as free. Like prime video, music though the prime version is trash, and all the Twitch benefits are all free to me because I didn't care about those when I got it. Just comes with it.

Only noted because that's technically wrong as a defense to that argument, whether I'm on yourside with the initial statement lol

mkis007908d ago

It's free to anyone who has already been paying. IDK why people need to split hairs.

TinkerNation908d ago

How does Prime Gaming work? Do you keep the games, or is it only as long as you have Prime?

Germaximus908d ago

lol Nice distraction from how they're now charging people to increase viewership. It's "just an option." /wink lol
