Ninja Theory Tease The Reveal of Their Newest Project - Heavenly Sword 2?

AMHNetwork has spotted a sneaky tweet from Heavenly Sword & DmC developer Ninja Theory and theorise that a it could mean a Heavenly Sword sequel is on the way

i think HS2 could end up being good if they correct some problems from number 1 that had potential but kind of bored me some times.
I unfortunately don't think HS2 will be their next game because i remember Ninja Theory relations with Sony haven't been that well after HS release so if HS2 sees the light of the day it will be with another studio on the lead.

I wish they make a next gen DmC i enjoyed the reboot!

Where did you get those numbers? DMC sold less than 1.2m copies across 3 platforms. DMC 4 sold 4m+.

Ninja Theory has never sold over 2m and heavenly Sword is their highest selling game at 1.5m only on PS3.

The one thing I'd give credit to NT is that they know how to create cool worlds and great character (excluding Dante and Virgil of course). Loved Trip and Monkey, as well as all the HS characters.... Especially the bosses of Heavenly Sword like flying fox and King Bohan.

It's a shame they stink at combat. I wish they would outsource combat to Platinum. It's like they are opposite studios. Hate everything about platinum's game aside from the combat.

really heavenly sword didn't do as well as it should have solely because it got put in as a new ip when the ps3 was still selling at 600.00. I bout it day one and still own it as I loved it for what it was. Most people around this time was either doing the 360 gig so never really saw the game for what it was and to me it was flawless. People tend to expect more then what is reasonable. Another thing is the lead character was not a man and many people guys mostly scrutinized it because of that. Their could always be improvements but as you say this would be a day one purchase for me for sure.

It's little short but since it's cheaper you won't complain about the game length.

Yeah, that title is very misleading once you read the tweet. Nariko it's one of my favorite female protagonists in gaming. With the upcoming film I would like to see a sequel and not a reboot. NT did some good stuff with dmc however I still much prefer Heavenly Sword.

The reason people are so excited for a Heavenly Sword 2 is that Ninja Theory & Sony have been randomly dropping sporadic hints regarding a Heavenly Sword sequel for the past 6 months.

Really loved the first game.For the early days of ps3 this game really left its mark.Don't get me wrong it was just hack n slash but the graphics and story made up for it.Great lead character also.It doesn't officially state that a new game will be coming but a sequel to this or enslaved is certainly not a bad thing.

Somehow though I don't think Sony is gonna have them develop HS2, i'd Love if they did. But All signs point to it being a new IP, and I did some snooping through some of the developers LinkedIn profiles at NT and 2 of them confirmed that they've been working on a Top secret project that went into R&D September 2012 for a Next Gen platform, then went into full Production in Jan 2014. The Creative Director for the Project is Rahni Tuker and she's been the Creative director since Jan This year and was the gameplay director for the game since Sept 2012 when the game entered Pre Production. So I have a feeling when this game is announced and it'll likely be at GamesCon she'll be there to talk about it since its been in full on production now since last year when NT's cofounder Tameem was present at the PS4 reveal and spoke in the Developer Video for PS4.

I have a strong feeling this game will be KILL STRAIN, that was Trademarked back in April This year but was strangely absent at E3 with the other 3 games that were trademarked in April that were announced, Bloodborne, Guns Up and Entwined.

You're confused ? They kept revising the "initial target" before and after release . It didnt sell well at all for the franchise and the noise it made. The game is in no way a success (i dont think anyone even claimed more than 1 million on 3 combined platforms).

For a while the Devil May Cry Collection was even doing better saleswise . Everything you heard beyond that is expected PR damage control or from the fans .

And i dont think you should expect anyone disliking any game , to care that it got a 8 or 9 in reviews . Especially when it was obvious some of the reviewers didnt even really know the Devil May Cry franchise .

Just search online , we shouldnt even be having this powderkeg debate again , either fans or "haters" .

I also loved Heavenly Sword, and enjoyed Kung Fu Chaos. I have Enslaved downloaded ready to go when I get round to it.

They're a talented studio, I look forward to seeing what they do next.

DmC sold 1.5-2 million before coming to free to PS+ just 9 months after. Capcom revised the sales figures for not just DMC but for quite a few of their games because performance of their software was facing stiff competition. RE:ORC was initially supposed to sell 5 million units, and after reviews came in the game sold 1.5 million units and they revised they figures to reflect it. They wanted RE6 to sell 7 million and it sold 4.5 initially before they revised it, and it later went on to sell 8 million units. They wanted DmC to sell 5 million, then they revised it to 2 million and then they revised it again to 1 million, the game sold 500k in the first month and then later on sold 1.5 million in 2 months following the release and crossed the 2 million mark when the Virgil DLC was released in March that year.

The vehement hate for that game is seriously laughable and silly. Its not only a great game but an excellent action game that was far more cohesive and thought out than the other games in the series...

I only hope that Capcom allows them the opportunity to create DmC2, because it was by far NT's best game and a great reentry to the DmC series. I understand the redesign in the character may be off putting but beyond the cosmetic changes and rewrites to the story the game really was great and the story had a sense of purpose to it and things didn't feel so disjointed from a narrative point of view. And while the combat may not have been as insane as DMC3 It was excellent, tight and solid and wasn't too far from the DMC formula.

it doesn't seem as if Capcom is doing western Partnerships anymore with the renewed focus to developing all their IPs internally, But The thought of a very cinematic and even more polished DmC2 running on PS4 with UE4/Panta Rhei at 60 FPS is just mind blowing and Capcom would be damn stupid if they let a minute vocal few dictate what is widely regarded by the industry and journalists as a great game. They should definitely foster a relationship with NT regardless of how cocky and prickish Tameem is. That franchise shouldn't die. the reboot was a step in the right direct. Refocused on Story and proper character development and Great solid combat to go along with it.

I've played them all. Here comes my opinion....are you read? I LOVED their take on Dante. I liked his look, his attitude, and his style. I thought it was an awesome revisioning of the franchise and I LOVED the boss battles. Some of the more creative battles I've played.

That's just me. I thought it was just AS GOOD as all the other Devil May Cry games. After playing it, I recommended it to all of my friends.

Thats just the preview image and has nothing to do with the tease. The tease is just that they mentioned a new game will be revealed soon (does within "the next few months" really count as news?) and the author figured it might relate to the HS movie and nothing more.

I really liked ninja theroys DMC it wasn't as good as the first or 3rd but was better than the second the only part of the game i didnt like was the office tower block part that was boring.

I'm hoping that this is a case of the stars aligning. Fingers are tightly crossed, I love the studios work on DmC and Enslaved but in particular Heavenly Sword.

I'm sure it is a sheer coincidence, but knowing Sony's recent form, and the fact that commercially (not critically) DmC and Enslaved both flopped, there's a chance Sony may come calling for Ninja Theory again.

I have a feeling this game is exclusively for PS4. The PS4 reveal had developers discussing the hardware. And the fact that NT was among the devs suggested that they are back onboard as exclusive developers.

Just to point some instances out.
Ru Weerysia was apart of that developer reel for the PS4 reveal and it turns out his studio is working on The Order 1886 exclusively for PS4.

Qgames Head was apart of Said reel and Pixel junk Shooter was rereleased on PS4

Harmonic CEO was also apart of the video during the PS4 reveal and earlier this year in May they revealed Amplitude is coming exclusively to PS4/PS3.

Ninjas Theory's Tandem A, was very much all over that developer discussion about the PS4 and so far, That studio hasn't said what they are working on. Furthermore of the 4 game IP trademarks that were filed in April this year, Bloodborne, Entwined, Guns Up and KILL STRAIN, only 3 were revealed at E3 this year, with KILL STRAIN curiously being abscent, Shu was already coy about it saying the company has things set aside for GamesCon and TGS this year.

With Ninjas Theory being European and very much on good terms with Sony I'm betting that GamesCon 2014 is going to be the reveal of KILL STRAIN and it'll be by Ninjas Theory, since that was filed for since April. NT has been quiet since the release of Virgil's Downfall in March 2012, Theyve more than likely had PS4 Devkits since late 2011 since they were nearing completion of DmC.

This year's GamesCon will be surprising...
Updates on Rime, Shadow of the Beast, EGTRaptor, a first look at Without Memory, and debut gameplay of Ratchet and Clank PS4, I'm sure we'll get an announcement of Beyond 2 Souls:Director's Cut for PS4, KILL STRAIN will be announced world premiere gameplay footage of Bloodborne is said to be shown at Gamescon.

Ninja Theory is all about the Action stuff so we will see what they are working on and soon. Gamescon Soon.

I remember playing the PS3 demo of Heavenly Sword over and over and then when it released I bought the full game. The game was amazing, the motion capture was fantastic, graphics were incredible at the time, and the combat system was fantastic.
