I did enjoy Nintendo offering especially seeing Zelda Wii U. I can't wait!! 2015 is truly insane. My most anticipated games of 2015 is Zelda, Witcher 3, TheDivision, and Rainbow 6.

Wasn't it just a short time ago that gamers were moaning about the Wii U not having any games? And rightfully so, the Wii U has been out much longer than the ps4 or xbone and the lack of quality titles for the system was a bit confusing. Now everyone wants to reward Nintendo for finally producing some upcoming compelling content? This is what their E3 2013 should have been, and we should be playing these games this year!!! Nintendo is fully one year behind where they should be, and their sales suffered for it. Now, better late than never, but I think it's funny how quickly gamers forget just how long the Wii U has been out with little content.

Are you high?? Sony's entire e3 showing was a bore fest. I saw their presentation in the theater too and it was was a huge waste of time. You could even see people disappointed in the audience and dudes' girlfriends falling asleep lol.

If you'd asked me before E3 I'd be inclined to agree. Even though we were aware that Ninty was going to do a "Digital Event" for E3, I suspect few of us expected them to go for it quite as hard as they did. They've been rightly praised for dedicating the full three days of E3 to demonstrating their upcoming games as opposed to showing heavily scripted gameplay videos... It really was a digital "event", and it was great :)

Nintendo was not just able to win it. They won it, fighting through all the bias and prejudices. And they even won against Sony, which is hard, not because Sony is so great, but because there is a big big hype around Sony and its console.

Finally the Nintendo Direct format becomes a success for Nintendo. The funny and nothing tedious show helped to provide a better perception of games to people. Reactions to Splatoon, Mario Maker and the Bayonetta 2 offer have been positive, for example.

Overall, Nintendo's presentation was overwhelming, excellent.

Because they showed game after game? Sure, they showed CG trailers but we can still expect the games to look and play good, especially if they're sequels.

Microsoft's conference was head and shoulders above Sony's crap presentation. Sony spent tons of time talking about tv shows, features and sales and that stupid letter crap (when they coupdve talked about the Vita) while Microsoft showed nothing but awesome game after game.

I'm glad that they got some positive attention out of this years' E3.
Winning or not[though this result makes me happy] isn't as important to me as seeing more people buy the system, because it's getting an even stronger line-up that would be a real shame to miss out on.

What Sony and Microsoft need to understand is that nobody cares about multiplat titles on their own conferences.... Sony showed Destiny? big deal is also coming to Xbox, Microsoft revealed Tomb Raider? who cares also coming to Playstation.... people tune to this conferences to hear about exclusives and that's why Nintendo won because they were all about exclusives...

Will the Wii U pick up fire with sales? probably not, it still have no third party support and having none of the big multiplat titles mean most people would only consider buying one as a second console after they already have a PS4 or Xbone... However, Nintendo deservedly get the title of best E3 showing because they did not bore people in their presentation

But isnt being a secondary console a good thing? While Sony and MS fight for the main console spot, one will get a PS4, one will get a Xbox1, but both get a Wii U. If you know what I mean. That is why I believe they say they do not compete, because they really dont, they make their system in a way, that people will get you, even though they already own one of the others.

problem is Wii U missed the price mark for a secondary console.... it needs to be $199.00 (half the cost of primary consoles) more than that is more than most people are willing to pay for a secondary console (and the Vita and Nintendo's own 3DS do compete with the Wii U in the second console space)

While some people may not feel that enthusiastic about Sony and Microsoft dedicating a good amount of time to third party E3 coverage during each of their respective conferences, it is obviously within the plaform holder's best interest to help promote third party software at big industry events such as E3. It's a mutual relationship between platform holder and third party publisher, so they both need one another to be successful in this industry. With that said, I was personally annoyed by the exclusivity agreements between Sony and Microsoft partnerships with some of the third parties. It's just kind of annoying because you'd naturally want a multiplatform game to be consistent in all of its released versions.

I do agree about the significance of console exclusives for platforms and their relevancy at industry events such as E3. Quite frankly, Nintendo did a pretty good job covering that basis at E3 this year. Of course, they had too because 1st party exclusives really are what their console essentially has to offer to consumers. It's a differentiating factor between Wii U, Ps4 and Xbox One, but it's also naturally a disadvantage at the same time.

Nintendo proved naysayers wrong about the perception of it potential irrelevancy at E3 this year because it didn't hold a traditional press conference like the other companies do. Clearly, Nintendo isn't afraid to differentiate itself from the other industry big boys, and sometimes, it works out in Nintendo's favor as it has at E3 this year. Now, that's not to say that Nintendo's presentation was flawless, because in my opinion, it wasn't. However, it earned respect for trying to take a different approach and executing it well enough, whereas Sony in particular, could have improved on their conference given how long and fairly bloated it was. Microsoft's conference, was in my opinion, pretty good, but Nintendo outdid them in terms of the amount of exclusives it showed and nearly all of it being presented in gameplay form. However, Microsoft deserves credit for giving a coherent, consistent and well-paced conference.

If I had to buy one console this year, it would be a Wii U. Fortunately, I already own one as well as a PS4, but I'd be lying if I said I was pleased by Sony's 1st party support this year. Sony's got a good propositional value going on with the PS4, but if its exclusives aren't compelling enough for buyers like me, then I would have been better off sticking with my PS3 for a while longer given how 99% of the same multiplatform games can be done on it with free online play and good content from PS+.

Wow I'd figure IGN to be biased but I'm impressed. Honestly I still wouldn't buy a Wii U until Smash Bros but they did deliver on exclusivity. I'm not a big Zelda fan either so I feel that may have swayed me to not care for the games. Well done though Nintendo. Just give me SMT X FE and I'm happy

I was honestly expecting the IGN community to flip the table over and go full-on #PlayStationisBeast Mode.

Not trying to knock the PS4; but let's be real - IGN is probably more pro-Sony than N4G - and THAT'S saying something.

But in all honesty; Nintendo really deserves it. They did an amazing job at this year's E3. It's the best one from since E3 2010. Awesome presentation, indeed.

This year's e3 was really nothing to "win" imo. Pretty much the same games from last year we already knew about. I agree that Nintendo had the better show but that's not saying much.

Devil's Third, Yoshi's Woolly World, the Kirby game (forgot the name), Splatoon, Captain Toad, Mario Maker, Project STEAM, the new Zelda. None of these games were shown last year...

I'm pretty sure Sony and Microsoft showed new stuff, as well. Overall, this was a solid E3 from all three companies, in my opinion. I think you're downplaying it a bit there.

It is about hardware, development architecture third party support, online gaming, social features, operating system features, controllers, entertainment features, TV, and many other things that make the entire console experience complete.

Nintendo wins in games, but loses in every other category.

At launch the only new games were Resogun, Knack, and Killzone.

In fact the only two new retail level games have been MLB 14 and inFamous Second Son since.

Almost the rest of the entire catalogue is games that people can play on other platforms.

You spend two minutes on Metacritic and Wii U by far nails quality games. I love my Nintendo games on the Wii UI... Wonderful 101, Mario Kart, Zombie U, etc. and they by far are the best this generation so far.

For Games:

Wii U > X1 > PS4.

I own all three, but my PS4 almost never gets turned on.

The Nintendo presentation was brilliant. They made the best attempt at saving the WiiU. Even if it only goes on to sell approaching Gamecube-like figures that's all it could ever realistically have hoped to achieve at best. Original Wii sales were a fluke.

My boyish love of Nintendo died with the GCN. I had a brief interlude with the Wii, and I have no interest in the WiiU. I have no love for any traditional Nintendo titles except for Pikmin. Mario Kart is played out, 3D Mario is played out. Zelda is played out. Metroid would be cool if they would go back to making it a platformer, and Smash Bros. just isn't fun anymore.

Yay Nintendo. winning E3 means very little anyway unless they can sell games and consoles. I already have a Wii U and wont be buying another console this generation. Shadow of Mordor and Dragon Age please. I will still be getting Bayonetta 2, devils third, Zelda X.
