Yes, Destiny's Xbox One Ghost Edition Does Exist, Here Are All The Box Arts For All Platforms

With the promotional and content partnership between Activision and Sony Computer Entertainment, PS4 assets of Destiny are definitely getting the most attention, and Activision itself sent a press release that included the box arts for the PS4 version only.
This, and the fact that the Xbox One ghost edition is currently not available on Amazon, led some to believe that it won’t be made available at all. Luckily that won’t be the case. All the box arts included.

I have to agree with a lot of what you posted.

On the same price paid but not same content stance? This is exactly why CD Projekt RED are awesome and becoming one of the most popular game developers and unsung heroes of the industry IMHO.

Call it what you will or think of it in anyway you like - It doesn't change the fact most AAA devs and publishers milk franchises and ripoff the gamers 9/10 with dlc and exclusive offers.

Then you have the DRM.....

I sincerely hope we begin seeing an increase of game devs and publishers following CDPR's lead.

As it stands now - This it not how I personally want things to be. It isn't right nor is it fair to the consumers - US.

It's more likely that Bungie needed to show audiences that after ten plus years of Halo on the Xbox platform that they are dedicated to the PlayStation brand.

You should also take into consideration that Activision is the publisher, and they split the difference with Destiny, giving exclusivity rights for the Call of Duty series back to Microsoft, and gave Destiny to Sony.

They didn't give anything to either platform holder for free. It's a Business partnership, inked by silver pens, blank checks and suits of the publisher, platform holder and the developer, all of which happens in a conference room probably at the platform holder's main headquarters.

Sony Paid top dollar to have bungle's new IP represent PS, the same way MS paid top Dollar to have COD represent XB...

Does this content give performance enhancements? Will X1 and PS4 platform forms be crossing over to play with each other? No on both counts. Bungie remember where they come from hence the time released content. Yes PS4 will get it first. But eventually the x1 will as well.

All big publisher's are doing this, yes I do not agree with paying more to get the content way later. But that is what happens last cycle this was what Microsoft and Sony both did this is not anything new.

The idea, that PS and Xbox users will pay the exact amount for the season pass, but the PS users will get more content, is just wrong. It's a new low in DLC practices... Which have already been appalling.

So no I won't be buying this ghost edition, or any other edition for that matter.

I was really interested in this game after the well received Alpha, but we have GOT to stop rewarding activision for this crap.

Well when you think about it, anybody who has purchased an XB1 (before or after the price cut) is in the same boat. Paying the same, or more, and getting less than the competition (graphics/performance wise).

Perhaps Activision is testing the waters, they probably figure if MS can do it with the XB1 and get away with it, they can do it with DLC.

Kind of funny, as not only is MS at fault for all this exclusive DLC crap to begin with, but now with the XB1 they are showing businesses that you can charge the same price, or more, for a product that does less than it's competition, and get away with it. And it's ironic that Activision is using MS's own tactic against them by short-handing those on the XB1 who pay for the DLC.

Not really... The xb1 and the ps4 are completely different products... When people evaluate these two products, graphical capabilities may or may not be a determining factor. The Xbox 1 does not do 'less' than the competion . Microsoft just prioritized hardware and software features differently. And they haven't 'gotten away' with anything, as the market clearly shows that it favors the ps4.

The DLC expansion passes are not in competition with each other... As they are both being sold by the same company. In this case, 2 customers are actually buying the same content from the same company, but 1 customer is being told they have to wait a year to use it all.

^^ I couldnt agree more. Its not the fact thet the content is timed exclusive. Its the fact that they charge X1 users the same price as PS4 users for DLC that has content deliberately held back for a time period...it like some kind of of weird exclusive DLC within the DLC...I can understand why they did it this way though...they couldnt lock the entire DLC( which will no doubt include new areas) as its too integral to bungies plans for the game..so yeah...exclusive DLC in the DLC...lol!

Typical timed exclusives don't really bother, me... All they do is allow one group to spend their money sooner. But when you are consciously giving one group less content AFTER taking their money... There's really no excuse... I'm really surprised at Bungie. When they were with Microsoft, I think they used their rockstar status to give great value with their DLC, and they were sure to release content for free overtime, so as to de-fragment the base.

I would like to think that activision is behind all of this... It's hard to believe Bungie would subscribe to this blatant disrespect towards some of their biggest fans... But they are still rockstars... They should have more decision making power...

I beleive its activision cashing on what sony sees as an opporunity to be associated with bungie, who are... yeah...rockstars..and not just any rockstars.. once MS crown jewel...Activision know that much and knew sony would get their wallet and pay whatever they ask. hence sony pushing their vesrion harder than any of their own inhouse games...they want to recoup that money.

The irony would be in COD and probably GTA5, outselling destiny on PS4...which I think will happen. Im also going to say, it will be interesting to see which platform has the larger active player base on this game in a years time...I think I already know..but wont say.

MS is doing the same thing with the XB1, it is the same price as the PS4 yet is significantly less powerful. In fact at one point they were charging $100 MORE than the competition (try to imagine Activision selling the DLC with less content to XB1 users for more money).

It's like some kind of bizarro world, where the salesman at the car dealership tries to get the customer to buy the cheapest car on the lot, because it is actually the best car they have.

Bottom line is, I bet Activision took a page from MS's book titled "How to screw over your customers and have them worship you at the same time". Don't want to spoil anything, but Obama is currently working on a book with a very similar title, just replace "your customers" with "US citizens".

You must be in bizarro world because two companies competing on price =\= one company treating groups of paying customers differently... Two completely different and unrelated concepts...

In the case of Xbox 1 pricing... The market dictated what the price shall be as seen with the new SKU and price drops.

In the case of the DLC, There is no competing source of Destiny DLC. It's just activision. And activision is choosing to give a portion of their customers less content.

The difference in price was the Kinect. PS4 was not sold with the camera as a must to buy their console. They were not charging the console $100 more for less. If you are comparing grahpics, then PS4 has the edge, but others might view they are getting more with their X1 if they happen to enjoy kinect. It's extremely subjective and an awful example to use.
