Destiny Beta Trailer Reveals Xbox Access Date

A new trailer for Destiny arrives to hype up the upcoming beta and reveals when players can access the beta on Xbox consoles.

It's disappointly short on both BUT it is actually only 6 days on PS4 and 4 on XB1 as there are two offline days on the 21st and 22nd where no-one plays.

Still, enough for everyone to get a taster without ruining the launch experience!

I'm still skeptical of this game. The beta is going to decide whether I keep or cancel my pre-order, so it is kinda important for people on the fence, like me.

It shouldn't matter, but the gamer on the short end of the stick (almost) always feels a little resentment for not getting the same treatment as fellow gamers on other platforms. As a PS3 owner last gen, I can tell you it matters (a little bit). I always resented that month wait while everyone else was already playing the new COD maps. Then I just stopped buying them to show my discontent and I didn't care anymore after that, lol. As a bonus, I saved $60 a year by not buying the map packs.

I'm still getting this game for my X1 over my PS4....much more benefits to playing on X1 for me. Sorry that it doesn't bother me like you wish it did.

...owning only one console would indeed suck if you are stuck with only an XbOne version.

I'm still getting this game for my Ps4, getting the inferior version with less contents would make no sense to me(and normal peoples), im not really into buying a gimped version of Destiny.

4 Days for Destiny on my X1.

I could always pre order it for PS4 but I want my achievements and to play with my friends.

Fuck it I'll pre order Ghost Edition and say forget the Beta.

Friends will be the deciding factor on which console people will most likely purchase the game for.
1) I have the alpha on my ps4, only played it with 2 friends.
2) I have the white Destiny PS4 bundle pre ordered, because I've wanted a white PS4 since launch.
3) I'm buying Destiny for my Xbox One, over 100+ friends and I know for a fact over 20 that are buying it on their xb1.

Anyhow, after playing the alpha on my ps4, the game was easy to jump right into if you played HALO games from Bungie in the past. The controller layout is damn near identical, with the exception of dancing and calling up your waypoint orb aka guilty spark from halo.

100's of friends don't matter when there is a limited amount of room on a Strike Team..

and the game is designed to be seamless... You will be playing next to other people in the same area... so you don't necessarily need any friends at all to play and succeed.

you will meet plenty of new people.

Why is that weird? I have a crystal white vita OLED, and I want a crystal white PS4 to match. I'll just give my cousin the PS4 copy of Destiny, along with my black PS4.

Speaking of which, the only retail PS4 game I purchased is infamous second son. Last night my cousin bought battlefield 4 for the ps4, and when we put it into the disc drive it kept making a grinding noise? And wouldn't read the disc. I thought he inserted the disc upside down or something lol. Anyhow, it's a launch PS4 console. So either my disc drive is defective or the battlefield 4 disc is defective. Either way something is wrong, and it's either an error on Sony's behalf or EA with the faulty Battlefield disc. Have anyone heard of a disc drive issue with the PS4 launch consoles?

Play with your friends? But you're buying 2 versions of the game? You could have a thousand in your list, it doesn't guarantee you'll play with them, if you really played Destiny, you'd know that you can play solo or seamlessly with players you mean who spawn in and out of a session on the fly.

You complain about only playing with 2 people in the Alpha...? Every trailer for the game showcases 3 character party/strike teams... So even if you had a hundred friends playing the game only 2 others plus yourself could form your fire team, and you can only chat to those in your fire team.

Secondly the Alpha was only 3 days long and had a max of 1200 players, it was limited and you'd know that based on how registration for the Alpha was conducted. So complaining about low player counts is silly. Especially when the game will likely sell more on PS4 anyway, considering how it's being marketed and the lenghth of time players will have with it thanks to the beta.

You don't have to pretend you're this multiconsole owner. Nothing's wrong with being a single console owner with a preference for one over the other. Your reasons for getting the Xbox One version over PS4 is silly considering how the games match making is designed, you come trolling and disingenuous rather than level headed and honest. Just Say you're getting the XBO version because that's the version you want.

Edit - @Andreasx you really think Destiny is going to be 1080p on the Xbox 1, when a game like Diablo III can't even pull 1080p on Xbox 1... Destiny is 100X more demanding than Diablo.

Is the beta going to be the same content as the Alpha? I really was bored fast being limited to lvl 8. Now I understand its just a alpha/beta, but you leveled up real fast and nothing to do really after you get to lvl8.

Hope they show different content on there, as that would be a nice demo of whats to come. I have a white PS4 on order with the game bundled, as my living PS4 is going into my office. This game should be a real treat to play from what I have played. Sadly, the lvl cap came to fast :-)

As an Alpha player I just want to give those a heads up about how fire teams work. If your expecting a mmoFPS your in for a surprise. It's not.

Only part you can interact with other players is at the tower. (only real feel of a mmo) Other wise out side of that on the field, you will see players but they won't be able to follow you ever where. They dissapear at certain spots. (making it feel more like Darksouls multiplayer) Unless they are in your fire team.

Right now fire teams are 3 for story. 3 for explore. 6 for raid. 3 for strike. Game is still amazing tho. alpha ran like a finished game. can't wait for beta.
