VRFocus - Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) has shown a strong commitment to the Project Morpheus virtual reality (VR) headset in its short life time. That said, questions were raised over if the company would actually release the device recently when president and CEO of SCE Europe stated that its release was still a matter of 'if' and not when. Now SCE CEO Andrew House has restored a little more faith in a consumer release, stating that the device is 'definitely more than an experiment'.
Recent findings in the latest PSVR2 software update, indicates that PlayStation is already starting to implement support for PC.
The icing on the cake would be if Sony / Valve allow for a Steam Link app much like it is for the Quest 3. Likely wishful thinking, though.

Its obviously not an experiment, but I think its possible they will say the tech isnt their yet or something when it ends up costing $200-$300. I think they might just wait till PS5 to release it
@60FramesPerSecond it's doubtful it will be released with Sony's next console. It's already been demonstrated with the PS4 and DualShock. If I had to guess it would most likely be a mid/late 2015 release at $399.

Considering the DS4 was built from the ground up with the light, it's obviously been planned from the outset. If Morpheus doesn't release, it would be a hell of a waste in terms of R+D and manufacturing costs
Virtual Reality won't be visually appealing until HMD's reach 1600p or higher. I wouldn't mind the visuals of an Xbox360/PS3 game in VR, if it was 1600p or 4K.
