Wii U and PS4 or Xbox1. PS4 and Xbox1 offer to many of the same, so it is only about 2 exclusives, you might like more on one plattform, but Wii U offers experiences, you cant get anywhere else.

My Wii-U and PS4 next gen combo is working great for me in addition to my gaming PC.

I will be revisiting the idea of buying Xbone in 2015. However, one thing I plan on waiting and seeing this time is how many x1 exclusives begin making their way over to PC. If Quantum Break is going to make it's way over like Alan Wake did, I'll probably pass on the console all together (which would be a first for me).

I agree, PS4 and X1 are both fine for exclusives, but PC has far more exclusives anyway and visuals that the consoles simply cant match. While PS4 owners (myself included until recently, I sold it) are bragging about 1080p, those of us with high end PC rigs are talking about 4k. That's what happens when your console has laptop CPU's and older GPGPU's and 5400rpm hard drives, they were obsolete out of the box.

Its a joke that 1080p/60 is still a high water mark for current gen consoles (yes PS4 and X1 are current gen, not next), it should have been a given and they should not have been released until they could build a box that achieves 1080/60 for a reasonable price. This will be a short generation.

PC is the best place to play mulch-platform games and are the only place to really play RTS and MOBA.

Also PC is very versatile in which you can have a controller and play it like a console. An easy choice.

Also Wii U is the only place to play my favorites such as Super Smash Bros and Mario games and Zelda. Those exclusives are the most unique and always high rated. Nintendo doesn't make crappy games.

Easy choice. At least for me.

Well... I have the most games for 3DS/Wii U, but it's been out longer.

PS4, Wii U, PS3, & 3DS... sold my 360 earlier this year for a cheap PS3 (needed a blu ray player and $100 PS3 is a way better option)

I'd say for exclusives, and this would depend on what you like, the best systems are the PS4, Wii U and 3DS. I can fully understand why some wouldn't enjoy Nintendo franchises though.

In all honesty, yes the X1 has other types of exclusives, but the X1 really (and I mean really) panders to shooters. I do not understand how much exclusivity and franchises of the same genre are needed for one console. How many exclusive FPS does Sony own? I may be ignorant but I can't think of one besides Killzone.

Currently X1 has Titanfall, Halo's, GoW, COD and BF exclusivity deals... They've tried to corner the market and in essence excluded themselves from the rest of the genre's of games. They're struggling to find unique exclusives to compete with Sony's franchises. Hell, I bet Sunset Overdrive doesn't do near as well as Infamous SS did for PS4.

Honestly see no reason to own a X1 unless your vast priority of gaming is shooters. For that reason PS4/Wii U is the smartest choice.

First off, it's not a tablet. It's a large touch screen, like the bottom half of the 3ds XL, only it's just a controller.
Second, if price is your concern, look on Nintendo's website.
A wii u refurbished there is only $199.

Each console will get exclusives that pc's won't, not including eventual illegal emulation.
Having said that, though, I chose a gaming laptop and wii u for my gaming needs this generation.
Pc for third party games that won't come to the wii u, and the wii u for exclusives, a select few third parties that just play better thanks to the game pad, and Indies.(yes, I know. Indies on pc, too, but have you tried siftinghrough all of Steam's shovelware to find the good ones?XD Wii u's selection is smaller, but at least all of its good Indies don't require tons of digging to find)

Um doesn't that work both ways though. Many games will only be on PC and won't go to consoles so that argument is weird when people say that.

I don't see consoles with Civ 5, Spacebound, Arma III, Command of Heroes, Day Z, Dota 2, Europa Universalis IV, Gone Home, Hawken, Sim City, Slender, etc. I can go on for much longer.

I can understand where you're coming from, but generally it seems to be a combination of:

Not as good exclusives, somewhat more online cheaters, less stable, introductory price, and importantly a general lack of computer knowhow...

I used to do a fair bit of PC gaming, but decided to move away from it except for at small-time LANs and such. It's hard to justify when you've got every console as well. And I just prefer to use my PC as a PC, and my consoles for games and entertainment. I love plug and play, and although modern consoles are bloated, it's still a purer experience. I don't have a need for the very best graphics either, and often play 480p Wii Games and N64 titles on a large HDTV.

Here's my thing. Whether or not you think PC exclusives aren't as good is subjective. I don't think they are better than the Wii U but better than PS4 and Xbox One.

I'm going from a base of simply the most versatile platform to game on period. Don't like mouse and keyboard? Fine got you covered with a controller.

Consoles are becoming just as manageable as PC. Xbox One has to update controllers now. Controllers!

Also the price thing is interesting because I'm sure you would save money going PC then you would console in a time span of 6 years. And you get to keep playing your games even after you upgrade.

Dota2, League of Legends, Starcraft2, Diablo3 (until they released it for consoles, I mean, same logic goes for people who act like PC wont get GTA5, even though the PC just gets the Next Gen Version of it), Command and Conquer (yes it is on PS, but who plays it there, it is a pain in the ass there), Counter Strike (just one of the best FPS of all time).

Yes, it mostly are Real Time Strategy, but strategy games are the most fun, make you think, instead of the generic shooter game.

It is a whole genre, that is missing, on PC you only miss exclusives and I for one, am not as interested in games like God of War or The Last of Us. i rather play Starcraft2, the next C&C, the next Warcraft RTS, all kinds of MOBA, MMOs, RPGs like Skyrim, which are by far better on PC, because of the controlls (still playable on console, but you get what I mean).

This is why I got a good gaming PC and a Wii U, so I can play Third Party with best graphics and controlls and the exclusives I would actually miss a lot, like Mario Kart, Metroid and Zelda.

Not to mention, that Xbox1 exclusives, like Dead Rising3 and Titanfall also have or get a PC Version.

Yeah, I don't disagree with anything you've said, but it's the initial price and not knowing what hardware they need that keeps people off. They don't consider the total sum over five-six years. And there are ways to obtain console games at similar prices, by importing or being patient / sales.

Sure, what exclusives people like is totally subjective, but considering there's these four platforms each with their own, it's more likely someone will fall under the three quarters called console.

People that prefer mouse and keyboard will naturally flock to PC as not many console games support it. But using a controller certainly is a possibility, I personally almost always game with a 360 pad on PC, as using a mouse for long periods tend to mess up my bloodflow and make my hand go all cold.

And I'd like to point out that updating the Xbone controller is completely pain-free, really straightforward and simple. I know, I've done it this week. It's pretty much just plug it in, press a button, wait a minute and voila. Managing your PCs drivers and background tasks is far more complicated.

I do want a ps4 for the eventual release of Kingdom Hearts 3, but its price is too high at present.
I can't justify getting one, especially when it has no native bc and its better exclusives are all delayed until next year.(And many of its multiplats are pc as well)

Luckily some relatives of mine helped me get an Asus gaming laptop, so even if I can't afford the ps4, I won't be missing out on much.(the thing had TWO one terrabyte hard drives! Like I'll miss out on any games with that much space!XD)

PC + Wii U combo is by far the best combo platform. PC has steam and by far the cheapest games (steam sales) along with the ability to play MOBO / RTS games. Not to mention PC games are fully backwards compatible forever.. Endless upgrades to make games look and run better with unlocked or cap'd frame rate..

Then you have the Wii U which has some of the best gameplay around with fully exclusive content that cant be had on any platform.

I like both the x1 and ps4 .. but I like my mouse and keyboard better than those platforms even if it means I gotta miss out on uncharted and so on (I know I will get disliked like crazy for this)

I have a 360, PS3, PS4, and a Vita. Not getting the Xbox One. Most games that are coming out for the XB1 are already coming to PS4...where they will look and play better. The few exclusives that MS has don't interest me in the slightest.

I HAVE been tempted by the WiiU lately...for one huge reason. COUCH BASED MULTIPLAYER! Nintendo, more than any other company, is offering games that can be played LOCALLY with your friends. Those are the most compelling games for me, ones that you can enjoy with others in the same room. So, yeah, chances are I will have a WiiU to complement my other consoles before the year is out.

You do realize all the highest selling games that the playstation and xbox get were originally developed on the PC.... Most the gaming engines you get on consoles were made for the PC lol .. And those crappy ports you talk about run and look better maxed out on a PC than most consoles...

Unreal , Forsbite, Cry Engine, Source, and so on are all engines made for PC games that are used on consoles now..

COD, BF, Borderlands, Diablo, Titanfall... are all games that run better and look better on the PC period... Not to mention when this gen is over you can still play them on your newer machine even faster than before. You can buy previous iterations of these games for more than 60 to 70% off on steam and origin sales as well.

Consoles do get games like Uncharted and Halo , which is a huge plus for consoles BUT on the other hand PCs do get better RTS / MMOs.. Most all multi plats are released on PC as well.. Both Tomb Raider / Alan Wake / Batman Arkham look MUCH better than console iterations and also include Tresfx / Physx for better environmental effects .. The best part is you can tune the graphics to what you want .. You can add AA if you want .. raise textures to ultra .. You get the performance you want.. AND you can use any joystick or pad you want.

And what does it matter whether it stays exclusive or not the point of this thread is to get the best combo .. which IMO is Wii U + PC .. you get the most exclusives and the best graphics with that combo when compared to anything else.

Also you act like the PC platform is this crap platform that only gets shitty ports.. Again those shitty ports all run at 60 fps at higher resolution... The pc can do much more for longer than the ps4 and x1 as a platform, which makes it more valuable from a cost perspective. You can do work , use emulators, use any joystick / steering wheel/ gamepad and use mouse and keyboard... You can use it as a HTPC... You have been able to do that for the last 10 years on a PC.

The currently announced exclusives for the PS4 do not really interest me much at the moment. Uncharted used to be awesome, but part 3 totally killed it for me.
