Sniper Elite III is probably the best entry in the series to date, but unfortunately it’s severely brought down by immense repetition, strange AI and a strong lack of variety. I’m sure that fans of the series will be pleased. However it’s also often a case of quantity over quality here, and while fun the game does run out of steam before it should. It’s absolutely worth playing if you’re keen to give it a shot – no pun intended – and it’s pretty entertaining for a day or two, but it can be missed or acquired for cheaper if you’re hesitant."

Haven't tried the multiplayer yet, so I'll say I agree with almost everything this guy said.
Sniper Elite 3 didn't seem to do anything new with the series other than vehicle disabling, larger mission maps, and prettier graphics. In the end, those things are nice but they're not enough to keep the game fresh and enjoyable for any long period. It's fun for an hour or two at a time.
A lot of the game felt very repetitive and for the most part the game was; use silent pistol until you reach sniper nest, mask gunfire with convenient sound generator, move to next sniper nest, repeat.
The AI is pretty bad too, if you masked your gunfire (and there are sound generators everywhere) then it doesn't matter if you kill a guy standing right next to another one because he'll either a.) not see/hear anything or b.) see his friends brain get blown out, walk around "searching" for 10-15secs then go back to where he was and wait to be shot.
It's a fun game, but only in short bursts.
