What you're saying is insane. Graphics and art direction are not interchangeable terms. You know it actually takes ARTISTS to make Infamous:SS look good, right? From the hand drawn concept art to the final textures and shading in the game. The two games are entirely different. But if you wanna go that route, then games like Rayman Legends have better "graphics" than Wind Waker HD.

Wind Waker's art direction was creative in 2002. Over a decade ago.

@bullymangler I can agree that windwaker is a fantastic game, but you need to get your facts straight. No art skill was used in the hd collection. They used all the asserts they had before, besides a few menus the wind waker hd requires a very small amount of art talent because everything was already made. God your stupid.

Second point you explain how second son is unimaginative by replicated real life when all art including wind waker does that. Art can be an opinion, so that means graphics can be too, as much as some fanboys would disagree, but the art skill of windwaker is no more creative and challenging then infamous second son.

Third point. You assume small detail is easy to do, learn to draw kid and you'll see how strenuous that work is. I'm no artist but I have made sprites for my own games and small detail is tough not easy. Why you would even assume that is beyond my comprehension.

Last point: if anyone can draw second son please I would like you to make me some texture maps and models cause I've always wanted to make a 3d game but couldn't because of my lack of art skill. But if anyone can do it please please help me out and create some lovely art for me

Wind Waker HD is a Wii game that was touched up and ported to the WiiU in no way shape or form is it next gen. It has low poly characters models with mapped on faces, few characters on screen at once, no reflections or particle effects and its cell shaded. It wasn't demanding on the wii so getting it to run at 1080p on the wiiU is unimpressive. You have no idea how anything you mentioned work or how to do it in a 3d modelling program and I can tell you from experience Wind Waker graphics if alot easier to do than photo realistic graphic cuz not only is it dependent textures but correct lighting.

Disagree, both Ryse and Killzone look better than this game. It is open world, and in all fairness you should compare open world games to other in their categories. But just because it it open world I don't think that should be taken into account and say that it looks better than other games when clearly it doesn't.

When I tried putting the framerate cap on it got really soupy and slow.
So basically, the game runs at higher than 30 MOST of the time....I'd guess 40-45 at any given moment.

Sucker punch did an awesome job making textures for SS.
Not only did Sucker punch focused on the big stuff, they focused on the small stuff as well. Like the fire hydrate, barricades, etc.

I've used 3d application like maya/3d max in the past and believe me making textures like SS is hard.

I own 2 'next gen' i.e THIS gen consoles, the PS4 and the Wii U, and while I dont own every game on each I would suggest I own the best of the bunch. Seems to me that while it is impractical to compare semi-realistic and stylized games I would say - in my experience - SM3DW easily the best looking game to date, Ground Zeroes the best of the semi-realistic games.

What gives SM3DW the edge for me is that not only does it look good static it runs as smooth as butter, Eurogamer I believe did a perfomance analisis in which it didnt drop 1 frame, running the entire time at 60fps, no screen-tearing or any of the nasties you still find on many modern games.

While ISS is a beautiful game I can't help but wonder how adding more activity would've crippled this game. The streets are pretty empty compared to GTA V, and that's a last gen game.

Sure ISS can have amazing textures and visuals etc. when there's nothing really stressing the engine. No real-time night and day system or weather. There's so much more that could've been done in ISS, so I don't feel comfortable giving it any kind of visual prowess award.

Anybody who has played Infamous:SS knows that the game is packed with life. There is tons of pedestrians in the streets (sometimes it gets hilariously packed), there is always lots of cars driving on the streets, and when the going gets going... the amount of action on the screen is absolutely insane. Were talking enemies numbering in the 40's in one area, and each one of them is doing something unique and even using powers of their own.

This game is a visual masterpiece, and if it was on the PC it would be without a doubt the best looking game released to date (it pretty much already is).

Pedestrians aren't really doing anything besides walking around (and take pictures with their phones now and again). GTA and Assassin's Creed feel a lot more lively in comparison. It's hard to complain about the number of pedestrians though.

inFamous is a VERY good looking game, ESPECIALLY when you consider that it is an open world game, but calling it THE best looking game is stretching it a bit. There are aspects of the game that are gorgeous, but then every now and then you come across textures and such that just look completely bland and out of place. However, where it is important the game looks great. I'd say its the best looking open world game at this point, but not best period.

THe more I play, I notice more details. I put in Infamous 2, and couldn't believe the visual difference. Infamous 2 still looks great for a PS3 game, but Infamous SS takes it to another level. The encouraging thing is that it is a launch window game. The potential for future titles is huge. If you want to make your eyeballs melt look at screens for the next Batman game coming out in fall. I would normally not comment on a ps4 game because I own a xbox one but I did own a ps3 and I played the infamous game and it really did bore the shit out of me, I don't care how pretty a game looks, it has to play well. I once dated an extremely unbelievable beautiful woman that made all my buddies totally jealous but after a few weeks I couldn't stand the sight of her, I just couldn't listen to any more of her shopping blah blah blah girl talk it bored the crap out of me. I guess what I am saying is don't be blinded by beauty it's all about who and what you are compatible with.
