I am really not bothered about the graphics to be honest..

Remember the days when we played games for the gameplay alone? oh...

Dynasty20213657d ago

Is this the new console owner's excuse now that 60 FPS is being proven to be out of reach by almost every game so far?

Bugz3657d ago

Oh... i am a console owner you are right ... but i also own a high end gaming pc.. so i'm not making any excuses...

don't be so quick to jump to conclusions.

I just don't consider graphics to be a deciding factor.

Sethry1013657d ago

I got a ps4 at launch, I have also just ordered a gaming PC. But do I regret getting the PS4? Not one bit. Sure PCs have more raw power, but console offer exclusives, better optimization and a fluid gaming experience (not needing to fiddle with settings and such).

If a person can afford a gaming pc, then sure go for it. But if you have a smaller budget and want hassle free gaming, go for a consol.

on topic, It would seem the graphics have been down grade, who knows why, there are no facts. One thing for sure is that they have not optimized this game well for pc.

Tzuno3657d ago

ha ha you nailed it. lame people that are blind to the truth.

randomass1713657d ago

Some people just prefer consoles. Not everyone needs a game to be full HD 60fps. It depends on the person. Don't be so judgmental.

Graphics and gameplay are absolutely reliant on eachother. Without graphics, there is no game. Without the game, you're just watching a movie. People who say "it's all about the gameplay" are right to an extent, but the gameplay is built on the graphics and what happens on-screen. They're VIDEOgames. The hint is in the name. The enjoyment you receive is predicated on the results of your (inter)actions being reflected on screen in a satisfying manner. Graphics have to suit the gameplay perfectly. A game that gunning for dark realism and a gritty city ambience benefits greatly from advanced graphical techniques that bring the city to life. I can understand peoples' disappointment in this regard, being shown a well-realised cityscape with perfectly toned atmosphere before disappearing and reappearing without that vision intact after all the hype they knowingly orchestrated is something of a "bait and switch".

mkis0073657d ago

I love you. Bubs for you. I will wait and judge when I pick up my copy if they ruined the city, but in essence what you said is exactly what I have been wanting to say to people who keep trying to tell me graphics don't matter. Infamous is a perfect example of this...Without the extra fancy gfx and particles I would never have been interested in it. The superhero genre needs those effects to create a convincing superhero.

When batman comes out(and came out) We will be awestruck by the world of batman and Gotham city being fully realized and explorable...as Batman himself. The beauty lies in how they are tied together.

hiredhelp3657d ago

Look ive been Gaming since retro days Early 80s when i hear in this Next gen of Gamers Graphics dont matter its Gameplay.. I kinda scratch my head as to why pay £400 for next gen console.. Why do you go wow when u see first gameplay of infamouse killzone ect ect... GRAPHICS VISUALS. thats why so your excuse gameplay over grapghics is flawed..
Since dawn of gaming its been about evolution next big thing tech growing so does what we see and what we can do.. Gameplay has to go hand in hand when cones to next gen has done for decades.
Yeh some games made with low budget can be awsome draw you in simply because gameplay addiction is there.. But when you pay full price you expect both graphics and gameplay.

stuna13657d ago

Well said!!!! That is what so many have tried to convey when trying to explain why graphics are important to gameplay. In all actually all aspects of a game are dependent on one another to truly enhance a well rounded gaming experience. Bubbles to you!

Salooh3657d ago (Edited 3657d ago )

Perfect comment ^^ . That's what i was trying to say , you can't choose one. You have to balance both. The more in both sides the better for us. New consoles means better graphics and better gameplay , without that you are stupid if you buy new consoles or parts for pc.

randomass1713657d ago

I agree with this somewhat. That being said, a game doesn't need to look great to play and feel great. We went generation after generation with graphics that are not as good as we have now. Just because graphics have gotten better doesn't mean that all of those great games have gotten worse. Graphics can help games be better, but it should not be the core focus of the experience.

UltraNova3656d ago (Edited 3656d ago )

With every new system comes a standard expectation of better gameplay mechanics but a far greater expectation of even better graphics.

In essence graphics will always come first regardless if some of us agree or not. When we reach true photo realism say in 20 years (give or take 5) then gameplay will come first only because progression on the former peaked.

Maybe for console owners, but i have over a £1000 invested in graphics cards for my PC alone, i want the best graphics available for my considerable investment.

Chris5583657d ago

investing 1000£ in a card alone lmao .....

hiredhelp3657d ago

Chris he said graphics cards. This could mean SLI Crossfire..

papashango3657d ago

that kinda setup kinda puts someone out of the pc gamer crowd and into the pc enthusiast bunch.

duplissi3657d ago

Agreed. Granted I only have one Gpu (Asus Direct CU II R9 290X).

I didn't buy it to not have it push pixels.

I care to some point but I don't seriously see a reason for this kind of comparisons and nitpicking about small details and textures

Magicite3657d ago

Watch dogs is coming and my PC IS NOT READY!
OMG, the hype, game looks gorgeous, lets just hope gameplay will live up to the expectations.

Psychotica3657d ago

True, I used to play games on the old Atari 2600 for hours on end. Graphics don't get much worse than that.

im also not bothered by the graphics, i want to play this game for the story and hacking.

Display3657d ago (Edited 3657d ago )

How about you all stop fantasizing on that E3 2012 vid , when there's already something on par , or dare i say , even more visually impressive , available on consoles.

Watch dogs (E3 2012 footage + nvidia 2014 footage) VS Infamous second son

https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Better character models , better lighting effects...The rest is more or less on par. Regadless of what you think of Infamous. (if you don't like the franchise). It's not like consoles can't handle these graphics. Maybe not at 2K or 4K. But it's possible at 1080p 30fps.

I don't know what watch dogs will end up looking like on consoles. But considering what suckerpunch has been able to achieve on sony's console. Ubisoft has no excuses.

Shane Kim3657d ago

Infamous looks miles ahead of this crap. Wonder what PC elitists have to say now paying XBOne price for their GTX780 graphics card.

MadLad3657d ago

Probably "aren't games fun not at 30fps?"

SniperControl3657d ago

This is coming from a PS4 owner, i would like to see the PS4 or X1 running something like Crysis 3 on ultra settings and 1080@60.

KakashiHotake3657d ago

@SniperControl, I highly doubt PS4 and Xbone can handle that until probably the end of the gen. Crisis 3 is a highly graphically intense game at full settings. Maybe Xbox One can do it if they utilize their cloud jutsu.

GamingTruth3657d ago

sniper control youre a ps4 owner but a pc fan that makes you playstation and console biased pc should try running playstation exclusives at any frame rate then come back pc cant even run gow3 lol

Chicago is over 4 times the population and 3 times the area of Seattle. The Seattle presented in Second Son is quite bare and lifeless most of the time too, there are no interesting NPC AI behaviours to speak of and there doesn't seem to be much of a simulation going on, just some instanced traffics and crowds to fill out the scene. Watch_Dogs seems to have a lot more going on with regards interactivity and the role the environment and EVERY NPC, car etc. plays in the game.

mkis0073657d ago

Kinda sad you had to bring me down... these two games have very different focuses...The powers are the focus of infamous, while the AI is the focus of watch dogs. I think they will both accomplish there goals in the end
.

Salooh3657d ago

Both fanboys are sooo negative. Why choose ?. Get both if you can, if you can't why bash two great games ?.

I never played the witcher games but i know how good they are and i'm really looking forward to playing that pc game on my ps4. It's a good time for both hardwares. Both are working together more then ever.

starchild3657d ago

Infamous SS is a gorgeous game and I'm enjoying it a lot, but I don't think it looks better than Watch Dogs.

The character models are very good in both games and visually there's not much difference there.

Lighting would definitely go to Watch Dogs since Watch Dogs uses a true global illumination engine with dynamic time of day and weather changes. Also, Infamous Second Sony lacks shadows from the majority of local light sources in the game. Only certain select light sources cast shadows. Now in Watch Dogs there are thousands of lights and obviously not all light sources will cast a shadow (that would bring any system to its knees), but I've seen A LOT more dynamic shadows being cast in Watch Dogs than in Infamous Second Son.

Watch Dogs also just appears to be denser with detail. Infamous looks a little sparser in comparison.

Both games use real-time screen space reflections for the wet pavement and other reflective surfaces. On the other hand, the actual water in Infamous Second Son doesn't look particularly good, while the water in Watch Dogs uses tessellation and looks incredible.

Watch Dogs has a city-wide wind simulation that affects vegetation, clothing, debris and other objects in the game world. That section in the PC Watch Dogs video where you see hundreds of trees swaying in the wind is simply amazing. I've never seen animated foliage of that quality and on that scale in any game before it.

Texture detail looks fairly comparable from what I can see, but I will need to see Watch Dogs compared against Infamous SS on my own display to say for sure which one wins here.

Anyway, I think both games are amazing-looking, but I have no doubt that Watch Dogs (on PC at least) will be the better looking and more advanced game.

then you go ahead and have no doubt your comment is so full of crap

Watch Dogs Deserves A Remake, More Than Ever

With the world of information and technology, privacy and security growing every day, Watch Dogs deserves another chance in the spotlight, now more than ever.

RaidenBlack996d ago

The only Ubi title that deserves a faithful remake right now is Splinter Cell 1.
All 2014+ Ubi titles are just underwhelming. Especially ones from 2016+ are just cancer.

LucasRuinedChildhood996d ago (Edited 996d ago )

Seriously, are we so far removed from Ubisoft actually making good games that people now praise Watch_Dogs in retrospect?

"Watch_Dogs has remained one of my favourite games of the last ten years." Jesus Christ.

HankHill996d ago

I remember being so disappointed in Watch Dogs when I played it at release. It was alright, but I think I fell for the hype and I needed a game to play on my new PS4.

obidanshinobi996d ago

This is what happens when mediocrity gets praised as good.
Standards are slipping across the whole entertainment industry.
What was once considering rubbish is now considered as OK, what once was OK is now being praised as good etc etc.

LamerTamer995d ago

Everyone has their own likes. I liked it a lot myself. I played through it twice and liked the car chases and the open world with fairly decent environments and missions. It suffered from the whole downgrade thing where they showed graphics that weren't actually there. No game will appeal to everyone but it was still ambitious for it's time.

gantarat996d ago

assassin's creed 1 should get a remake.

ExBee996d ago

For certain! AC1 was brilliant at the time but with new graphics and gameplay it would be amazing! Do you prefer old combat or new though?

RaidenBlack996d ago

I'd say a reimagining of AC1.
I direct AC1 remake would be a bad idea. It'll need better story pacing and significant better world building.

BlaqMagiq1995d ago

Old. Let it play like how it did with AC2-Syndicate style gameplay but refine the setting and story.

Profchaos996d ago

It would need a lot changed for it to be enjoyable again as even back in 2007 on launch we were all complaining about it's repetitive gameplay go here perform one of three side quests repeat then assassination now do it over and over until a big battle with a unforgiving checkpoint system.

BlaqMagiq1995d ago

Absolutely. It needs it. The only AC I truly didn't enjoy.

chicken_in_the_corn995d ago

I'd prefer it didn't. Ubisoft would make it so bloated, it wouldn't be anywhere near the original

smolinsk996d ago (Edited 996d ago )

Absolutely, this watch dogs legion was terrible boring.

Profchaos996d ago (Edited 996d ago )

As a fan of the franchise legion was garbage and I regretted my purchase for the first time in the franchise the entire thing felt like an experiment in NPC behaviour and released without the writers input on what makes a good story.

I don't think I'm alone in that feeling though as wrench and Aiden are brought back and the campaign was rewritten to fit them.

I am tempted to buy the season pass to play it again with Aiden but fool me twice shame on me I'm waiting for a deep sale

camel_toad996d ago

Agreed. Despite the annoying hipness of the characters in part 2 I thought it was a really fun game. I was extremely disappointed and surprised at how many steps back they took with Legion. You'd think it was made by an entirely different team. Or was it?

It was just so devoid of fun.

LamerTamer995d ago

Honestly one of my biggest annoyances with Legion is that they took out the camera views for the driving. I mean the behind the car view that they stuck us with is near unplayable. I always used a first person driving view. After two releases why did they take OUT features? I don't get it.

TheSinsibleOne996d ago

The fist watchdog game was the best by far
After that they weren't weird and annoying with that hipster stuff. Aiden was a badass.

LamerTamer995d ago

I thought so at first too. I got used to it and it ended up being good after some play time. I just had to give it a chance.

TheEnigma313996d ago

Remake the PoP series from xbox/ps2/gc era

RaidenBlack996d ago

They are remaking Sands of Time.

TheEnigma313996d ago

That's good news. Hopefully it's done right.

Inside the Driver game that died so that Watch Dogs could live

From VG247: "When cars slide, they leave tyre marks. In a game like Driver, they’re an aesthetic touch, part of the inherent cool of a handbrake turn. But those dark shadows in the road also tell a story. From tyre marks, you can determine the speed of a vehicle, when it started to skid, and its ultimate direction of travel – long after the car itself has vanished into the distance."

vallencer1061d ago

Different spellings in different parts of the world friend. Tyre is a correct way to spell it.

Pridefall1060d ago

Dunno why you got downvpted when tyre is correct in Australia.

neutralgamer19921061d ago

Give us driver San Francisco remastered

IGiveHugs2NakedWomen1061d ago

Why did they stop making some of the best games ever? Driver was one of them.

Gameseeker_Frampt1060d ago

Assassins Creed 2 showed Ubisoft how to make money and Far Cry 2 showed them that gamers don't like complex ideas. Now Ubisoft just turns out games that are just variations of the same thing.

WeAreLegion1061d ago

Best driving mechanics ever made. Nothing has come close.

Gardenia1061d ago

A story driven game with pure driving gameplay. I'd love to see a new Driver game or a remake of the first one.

ApocalypseShadow1061d ago

Yes. This one. A definite remake of the first without adding any ridiculous fluff. The first game had great physics and sound for its time. The start of the car in the beginning cinema I watched constantly. My father and uncles were big muscle and classic car freaks. Only thing crazy about the game was the relentless cops in the last level. Insane the way those police cars were and launched at you.

Bleemcast made it look better just like PC emulators. But would definitely take a remake.
