Yup this clenches. Seems like publishers are finally taking the Vita more seriously. About time too.

TomShoe3663d ago

I'm waiting for a standalone slim Vita, but this guarantees I'll get one eventually.

Protagonist3663d ago

Games, games, games coming for the Vita ;))

SamPao3663d ago

Yeah! Freedom wars looks realy cool!

Protagonist3663d ago

Looks good indeed, but the game I´m most hyped about is Over My Dead Body 2, because of the art style in battle.

Beetey3663d ago

But the Vita has no games...

/Sarcasm

Blastoise3663d ago

Said nobody that actually owns one

majiebeast3663d ago (Edited 3663d ago )

Too addicted to Destiny of Spirits atm.

randomass1713663d ago

If people thought that before, they sure as hell can't say it now.

Hicken3663d ago

But they will. They still do for the PS3.

r213663d ago

All 3 games localized, all announced, all to be mine!

MightyNoX3663d ago

Told ya'll 2014 was the year of the Vita. Already bought Toukiden, FFX-HD, DanganRonpa, Conception II, Demon's Gaze and we're not only halfway through the year. We've still got SS Delta, Oreshika and Freedom Wars to go!

I'm so happy to have Japanese games. Actual Japanese games with their quirks without all the 'appeal to the west' bs.

Vita means life!

Inception3663d ago

This year i already bought FF X, Deception 4, and Muramasa Rebirth CE. Next i'm gonna get Dangan Ronpa 1 & 2, Akiba's Trip, Toukiden, Tearaway, One Piece: Unlimited World, XBlaze, Walking Dead season 2 (i bought the 1st season for vita and me & my bro are loving it), Wolf Among Us, Mind Zero, Legend of Heroes: TitS 2nd chapter, and this three games.

I wonder if Gravity Rush 2 will be out on this year too. But damn, too many vita games! I can't believe that some people still spreading the BS about vita doesn't have games :/

Protagonist3663d ago

I´ve seen some web stores with pre-order for Gravity Rush 2 as to be released this year...now whether they got some more info about the game, is a good question.

WeAreLegion3663d ago

I want Gravity Rush 2 so badly, but I think the Vita is holding the developers back. Just imagine how incredible the series would be on PS4!

Thehyph3663d ago

Unless you already have it, your list is missing Dragon's Crown!

I like Ys: MoC as well, but I gave up on the story and started holding down circle to skip everything. There's more dialog than gameplay it seems.

Inception3663d ago

@protagonist

Hopefully we will get the release date on E3.

@wearelegion

Gravity Rush on PS4 would be cool. But i prefer it stay exclusive for vita. Some mechanic only work with vita and vita needs unique 1st party exclusive like Gravity Rush.

@stevehypen

I already bought dragon's crown for PS3 because of the artbook. But some of my friends play it on vita, so maybe i will buy it too...

I loved YS Celceta. If you don't like the story, i reccomend you to try YS: the Oath of Felghana or YS Seven. The graphic is not as good as Celceta, but it doesn't have much dialogue like Celceta and the action & music really kick ass!

PS Vita Exclusives Freedom Wars, Soul Sacrifice to Have Servers Shuttered

Sammy: "Two high-profile PS Vita exclusives, Freedom Wars and Soul Sacrifice, will have their servers deactivated on 24th December, 2021. Both titles, published by Sony in response to its loss of Monster Hunter exclusivity, were built around co-operative play, and maintained relatively dedicated communities to this day."

Oreshika is also getting it servers shut down too. Big shame for these games. Honestly some of Vita's gems.

Snookies12879d ago

I'm surprised these were even still up! Loved the Vita though, had some great times with that handheld.

XxSPIDEYxX879d ago

These games deserve sequels or remakes. It was Soul Sacrifice that even got me into Monster Hunter.

Rangerman1208879d ago (Edited 879d ago )

Honestly surprised they never got ported to the ps4 or even PC. Since Sony won't give the vita another shot, wht not make a Vita collection? Could have Soul Sacrifice, Freedom Wars, KZ Mercs, Uncharted Golden Abyss, Murasaki Baby, etc. As a way to conmemorate the Vita.

CDbiggen878d ago

Freedom wars servers are still up? Holy shit.

jimbo6597878d ago

This why you never should have achievements/trophies locked to online only features.

How Developers Adapted to the End of Sony's Handheld Line

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "When Sony entered the world of handheld gaming in 2004, it provided a new opportunity for developers to chase a different market than had existed before. Over the next decade we saw multiple companies, from both western and eastern shores, shift their pipelines to focus on providing software for both the PlayStation Portable and its successor the PlayStation Vita. Despite the latter’s relatively weak hardware sales, there were still successes to be found on the console, which meant that it was easy to plan a future around being a Vita developer.

By 2014, though, it had become clear that Sony was no longer interested in pursuing the handheld market and this left a number of companies in difficulty – they’d either need to adapt to the shifting times, or face dying out altogether. In this article, I’m aiming to look at what happened to developers who made both the PSP and Vita their main focus, how they adapted to the demise of Sony handhelds, what future plans they made, and how well they’re doing in the current gaming market."

The moved to the Switch from Vita. Some of the exact same games or similar games from those developers. Loved the Vita and glad to see those devs still have a platform to release lesser budget fun games.

Vita's 10 Best Online Games

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "Competing with other players online is ingrained into the gaming ecosystem these days, with every hardware manufacturer (even the previously resistant Nintendo) offering ways to connect to others over the internet to engage in multiplayer. Ever since SEGA blazed a trail with their gone-too-soon Dreamcast and titles such as Chu Chu Rocket and Phantasy Star Online, the console landscape changed towards embracing the internet – solidified further by Microsoft’s Xbox initiative in 2001.

On handhelds, inroads into online gaming were slower, but with the advent of Sony’s PSP in 2005 that changed again and suddenly portable experiences were offered that could also connect with other players across the world. This was refined further with their next-generation handheld the PlayStation Vita, which offered improvements like easily accessible friends lists, system-based party chat, alongside some of the best portable online games that were available at the time of its release."

Killzone Mercenary has spectacular gameplay and great mp. Underrated game.

Helldivers was pretty awesome to have on Vita.

NFS MW worked well on Vita.

NecrumOddBoy1823d ago

Killzone Mercenary is not only a phenomenal KZ, it has the best integrated system shared between the campaign and the online community. I wish more shooters were this incredible.
