While Sony Celebrates 'Infamous' Sales, Microsoft/EA Still Quiet About 'Titanfall'

Paul Tassi: "Sony took to their PlayStation blog yesterday to congratulate Sucker Punch for Infamous: Second Son racking up a million copies sold just nine days after launch. While it’s no earth-shattering COD or GTA total, those numbers are quite good, and definitely the best in the series’ history.

The news got me thinking about the fate of the other big next-gen launch title released within the past month, Titanfall. How has the game sold since its much-anticipated launch?"

I say we will hear about numbers soon.

Microsoft is waiting for 360 sales to build and proudly announce it sold something million units of Titanfall with no information on the break down on platform.

ArchangelMike3659d ago

Infamous released on only one platform. Titanfall released on 3 platforms. You can't really compare the numbers. Unless you compare XbOne sales of Titanfall with PS4 sales of Infamous. And even then it's not really a fair comparison as XbOne has sold less units than the PS4.

"Titanfall released on 3 platforms. You can't really compare the numbers."

That's the joke.

Flames763659d ago

Titanfall sold 1.3 million on the X1 and infamous sold 970,000 on the PS4.So whats hard to understand about that?Anyone who paid or pays attention in school knows 1.3 million is higher than 970,000.

Lawboy23659d ago

do you really think that titanfall hasn't reached over 1 million on the xbox one...really...like seriously do you think that it hasn't reached 1 million...some ppl, because Microsoft hasn't said anything now its doom and gloom...realy...smh

Lucreto3659d ago

It definitely sold over a million but it puzzles me why EA and Microsoft are not shouting from the rooftops. If it sold a million in less than 9 days we would have heard about it.

Sevir3659d ago

Considering that they announced Forza selling a million units it's puzzling that they haven't updated the press on their biggest game of the year so far. Perhaps they'll update us on April 21st when they do their quarterly report. We will know soon.

ger23963659d ago

With over 3 million Xbox one owners, you would think they sold over a million.

AceBlazer133659d ago

They're most likely quiet about it because of the amount of dollars they're burning away to get the game out there.Marketing,Bundled Free and Price cuts and the cost of exclusivity. The thing may never bring a profit, let alone break even.Who be proud of that?

Mean while Sucker Punch and Sony are selling a million copies of a game with mostly word of mouth and actually making profit off of it.Lol inFamous probably got free marketing from Titanfall, freakin genious.

AngelicIceDiamond3659d ago

Wasn't it a rumor that EA said TF sold a million?

Lawboy23659d ago

Guess what NPD comes out next week...I wonder what the top selling game will be for the month of march...some ppl smh

Majin-vegeta3659d ago

You mean a game that is on 3 consoles is gonna outsell a game that is exclusive to one console??Say it ain;t so say it ain;t so /S.

Nice logic buddy.

randomass1713659d ago

Why would that actually not surprise me? XD

100%, locked 60fps and still look great all these years later, same with the expansion, definitely worth a look if people haven't played it yet, not the best games ever made but a good experience, hopefully a new infamous gets released

KwietStorm_BLM97d ago

Never was my favorite infamous, but it was definitely a graphics showcase early on PS4. Still plays well with the unlocked frame rate.

SDuck97d ago

Still remember getting hyped about this game nearing release. Funny because I never even got a PS4. Jumped from PS3 to PC so I never played it ahahaha

OmegaSoldati97d ago

Its a good game. But thats it. Congratulations you made the best choice. I dream to have a great PC one day.

Profchaos97d ago (Edited 97d ago )

Graphically It's a absolutely stunning game that still holds up today.

Didn't have all that much depth to it forcing you to play though twice for a platinum trophy a good and bad run it was a little disappointing how similar those were Delsin would be like I'm not doing that for you in a cutscene but the cutscene would play out and force you to do it anyway just as you would of in a good run

I did like the story however it got a lot of complaints back in the day people hated playing as Delsin instead of cole despite Coles story being wrapped up.

Overall though the map wasn't overly saturated with useless points of interest there was some collectibles and things to find but nothing compared to a Ubisoft game.

I think it was a good game if a little hollow I've played it through around 4 times now since it's so short.

Also it's DLC was great a full story expansion

I've played 15, and I wouldn't consider any of those underrated TBH. Some of them are pretty high rated.

banger88129d ago

That's amazing, Gamingbolt actually put all 15 games on the same page.

shinoff2183128d ago

I. Not seeing anything on that list underrated. I never played concrete genie, the ASTRO vr,and one other but I forgot the name already. Nothing on there was underrated at all imo.

persona4chie127d ago

There’s only 4 of those games I never played, and no most of those aren’t underrated.
