I am reallyv excited. I just hope it isnt like so many alien strategy games. Civ always separated itself b/c we were grounded in history or history-like stories (for me).

The more they can do to make this seem grounded inv reality, the better...like different nations settling on different and helping or waging war on one another.

Wish they could have called this Alpha Centuari but then again if they had the rights to civ back then it would have been branded as a civ game. Now that they don't have the rights to Alpha Centuari they are branding it a civ game either way this is a must own game for any firaxis fan.

The platforms are announced and it is PC which should not be surprising at all. Firaxis has said multiple times Civ is for PC and would not work well on consoles. They have said for a verg long Civ is a PC game and they are PC devs first and foremost.

Playstaion 4 has keyboard support. I would bet the majorly of PS4 owners have a keyboard. They could do it if they really wanted too. It would even guarantee money cause you can't pirate games on PS4/Xbone. That's fine with them being PC devs first and foremost, but that doesn't mean they can't port it with the x86 architecture of both consoles at a later date.

a game that requires a mouse (only thing really used at all) on a console will not sell. only a select few would actually go with that.

as for piracy Civ5 would like to have a word, the devs idea on this is make a good game and there is nothing to worry about (smart people). Civ5 has sold over 1.4M physical copies (more than CivRev on ps3 and 360 combined) and odds are Steam has more than triple that number. It averages over 50,000 players online at a time (it came out in 2010) so sales are not anything they have to worry about.
