War toys are fine. War toys based on Call of Duty? An outrage, according to some in the UK.

lol, X-Rated game.. dear lord.

My Sister-in-law works for Mega Brands. She gave her 15 year old son a few of these Call of Duty sets. He plays the Call of Duty games, so he would appreciate these.

Should we not sell GI Joe toys because they glorify war? Or is it just Call of Duty because there is an optional level involving a Russian airport and innocent civilians?

why is it that when M-rated games get sold to kids they first blame.

The Developer
The Publisher
Gamers
The Investors
The Industry
The Society

instead of blaming the Parents and the store who sold the game to the minor without ID?

I mean Jack Daniels or Budweiser NEVER get blamed for under-age drinking so why is the Gaming industry different?

Oh I know, HYPOCRITES!

This^^^
I mean its obvious, because there are no organisations that lobby ministers, senators etc on behalf of games.
The games are easily blamed, and like you say a game wont make a person come home and beat their wife.
Jack Daniels will.
Its those same people who run the country and think marijuana causes half the issues in society, when in fact the relaxes them.

Becuz nobody blames the parents. If u piss off the parents, the soccer moms will boycott ur company and complain even more specifically about that particularly company.

Nobody has the balls. Gamers complaining about parents on n4g doesn't really count.

bumnut3669d ago

GI Joe isn't based on a game that you have to be 18 to buy, not really the same imo.

Neonridr3669d ago

M rated games are 17, at least here in Canada.

War is war, just because one is a cartoon and one is a video game doesn't change the fact that they both have violence. In the cartoon they are shooting off guns and blowing stuff up too.

"It is totally inappropriate for a company to use this name for play materials for those too young to play the video game.
“They should think again and not promote this brand to children.”"

Yeh sorta like UK's VERY OWN Harry Potter movies that were full of little kids and that was pretty violent at times. People got killed in those movies.

yeah.....it's just a toy harmless while in the hands of young kids who just like to play and get dirty.

*I wonder do they have a Kung Fu grip if so sign me up for some.

kreate3669d ago

I suppose getting killed by magic is ok. Maybe even swords. But not modern warfare.

TitanUp3669d ago

its a bit odd people are making such a fuss about these toys, do kids have army men kiss or something? i know i sure didnt i always thought of my army men blowing legs off and having tanks run over them.

ATi_Elite3668d ago

I use to burn my army men with a magnifying glass.

I guess I was playing Nuclear War, lol

Revvin3669d ago

This is just another chance for publicity for a few select self styled protectors of righteousness to get their name in the newspapers and promote their agenda's. Kids have played with guns and Action Man and other assorted action figures for years and when they can't get guns they make them out of lego or twigs.

Keith Vaz is a master at self promotion but anyone who knows anything about British politics will know he's an odious little toad with a string of allegations behind him about corruption over illegal passports, interfering in police investigations to help business associates and taking payments from constituents.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
