I'am a PS4 gamer, i soon hope to be an X1 gamer, primarily, i am a PC gamer.

"Murdered: Soul Suspect's PS4 & Xbox One quality is 'like a high end PC"

Urm no, just no, lol, i have seen the trailer, more like a mid-range PC.

Have Square ever seen Crysis 3, Farcry 3, Bioshock: Infinate, these games have "high end" quality.

Nitrowolf23676d ago (Edited 3676d ago )

Well TBF, it's most likely true as in the game matches the same quality as the PC version on highest settings. That doesn't mean it's the greatest looking game, meaning this is most likely just marketing to try and get people excited after all those previews downplaying it. I have a feeling that's what they mean though, otherwise yeah XD.

And TBH, I really would be shocked if this game didn't as it's being cross developed, and knowing SE this game will probably have parity across ALL systems, not just the PS4/X1 (even if they look better, I don't think they are exactly pushing it or utilizing the new consoles persay)

SoulMikeY3676d ago

I think developers are more knowledgable than consumers about that. It got old in 2005 with every PC gamer thinking they are better than everyone. Please don't continue the line of stupidity.

SteamPowered3676d ago

Developers also pump their own product. There is no comparison from these Next Gen consoles to a High End PC unless the PC is hobbled for parity.

Razputin3676d ago

I think this is true for now. I also believe that all PC games vs their console counter part will look better.

Will it be extravagantly better absolutely not. Barely any noticeable difference aside from aliasing, shadows, and lighting that will be slightly better on a high end PC. Is it something major to boast about absolutely not.

The difference s will be there but very minor compared to the latest consoles.

gamernova3676d ago

In my case, I am a PC gamer and don't think that in any way makes me better than anyone. However, tech ignorant people will read this title and assume the ps4 can rival high end PCs. That's just not going to happen. Just because PC gamers highlight that doesn't imply we think we are superior. What it does imply is that we know our hardware is superior and we just don't want there to be any confusion.

ATi_Elite3676d ago

This game is NOT i repeat NOT graphically challenging.

so yeah a PS4/XB1 should be able to run this LOW GRAPHIC FIDELITY of a game at the same clip as a High end PC.

Seriously there is nothing in this game that will punish a GPU. Graphically this game is a CAKE WALK, my toaster can run it.

Nice FLAIMBAIT MISLEADING title though, gotta get those HITS!

starchild3675d ago

Devs often say things like this but it's never true. It will generally look like the PC version, but there will still be advantages on the PC. All the multiplats I have played so far look better on my PC than on my PS4. ..e.g AC4, Thief and Battlefield 4.

Section83675d ago

God of War 3 and God of War Ascension looks better than those 3 games you mentioned.

Ah I just spit coffee through my nose and fell off my chair. Stop it.

Good to hear. It's not exactly the best looking game on the market, but I love when there aren't major differences. Everyone gets to experience the same thing.

voodoochild3463676d ago

Why does it make sense for people who have superior equipment to be forced to have gimped versions of games? It makes no sense when xbots want ps4 ports to be limited and it makes no sense here. Video game parity shouldn't exist if the platforms they're played on don't have similar specs. Simple as that.

WeAreLegion3676d ago

If a game isn't that demanding and can run perfectly well on both systems, it's a good thing for everyone.

You're talking about parity, in general.

WeAreLegion3676d ago

Wow. Didn't expect 7 people to disagree with something like that. What a bunch of douches.

ATi_Elite3676d ago

I hate having a more powerful system only to have "Some Devs" make games using specs of the LOWER system.

at some point PS4 owners are gonna get SICK of multiplats that do not utilize some the great power that the Ps4 has as games get made using the lower consoles specs.

gameslayer24113676d ago (Edited 3676d ago )

In my opinion Gameplay first, Functionality (I don't want a broken, bugged, and Glitched game), and finally Graphics. People don't seem to care so much about gameplay now a days. Everyone is Downgrade this, Upgrade that, Graphics blah, Mine is better, PC is best, enter fanboy rage and all out war. Of course ALL PC games will look better, games are developed ON PC, they are optimized FOR PC right at the beginning, and then they are used with the dev kit and voila. Having Parity across platforms is great for multiplats, and thats generally how it should be. I am primarily a PS4 Gamer but I own all consoles, and will continue to buy all consoles because I love games, graphics be damned.

Edit: Yes, disagree with my comment because it is SO bad.

Razputin3676d ago (Edited 3676d ago )

Well I am a visuals man myself but if the game is crap I won't play it. With that being said if the visuals are crap or downgraded I.e. 16/32 bit graphics games I won't play it either.

I have a slew of indie games I won't touch even though they have been more highly rated overall compared to big budget titles.

Example Battlefield 4 a franchise I adore and still say looks amazing. I can't play that game it's completely broken to me.

Game Play and story matter just as much as visuals to me. Though one can be better than the other.

gameslayer24113676d ago (Edited 3676d ago )

I agree it is all about preference, but the people who think a game had better be the greatest looking game ever and could care less about gameplay bother me. Call me old fashioned but like you said BF4 had great visuals but the game itself was broken and people hold it to high regard saying its amazing, and Crysis 3 compared to the original Crysis isn't half as good and the Graphics look identical. I modded the hell out of my Skyrim because I love when I enjoy the game AND I can upgrade it to my own preference. But overall I agree, when everything is top notch (Gameplay,Story, and graphics) It is a plus, and when it all comes together it is amazing and thats why I'm glad to be a gamer. Bubble for you sir for your opinion!

SniperControl3676d ago (Edited 3676d ago )

I am a PC gamer by choice and decided from the start of the build that i wanted a high end PC, i have forked out nearly £1000 on GPUs just to have superior graphics.

What i dont want is to play multiplat games on PC purposely held back by lower powered consoles, murdered is quite obviously one of these games.
What makes it worse is that Square are blatantly BSing PC players with BS marketing talk, thankfully, most of us are switched on.

Of course gameplay matters, just look at Crysis 3, one of the most graphically intensive games on PC, yet it is boring as hell to play.

Razputin3676d ago

This to me isn't much of a debate. P'S and Xbox One will have visuals up to pay with a decent high end PC minus some of the bells and whistles.

With that being said this will only be true to maybe a max of 2-3 years and that's being optimistic.

Developers need to push the envelope on PC first before trying to do it on consoles. If games like Uncharted, The Last of Us, and MGS 5 where on PC they would look like their prerendered counter parts.

Anyone who plays on PC knows you will always get the better visuals there since we have the capability of upgrades and such.

Direct X 12 is coming out and we can only hope to see better visuals and performance for PC games in the coming years.

These consoles look great now. I saw Battlefield 4 on PS4 and it is nearly identical to the PC version on Ultra settings that I play, but the PC version shines just a bit more with upping the scale resolution, anti aliasing, shadows, etc....

Axonometri3676d ago

When I see the final product I will make the judgement. Every game claiming to be mid-to high end PC in comparison ends up having lots of aliasing and a multitude of other technical disparities to the PC version.

Now, if we could just get the PC versions back to a state of being lead and fully polished, unbroken works.

Actually it does deserve to

Loved this game's premise. Great voice acting too. Shame the gameplay was very easy.

AK911787d ago

It was a unique game for its time but I felt like the devs coudln't decide whether they wanted it to be a detective game or a supernatural game.
