Dan Webb: "State of Decay 2 is a perfectly fine game. Nothing more, nothing less. Sure, it may be buggy and it might be a step back from the original, but it is nevertheless still a fun game, albeit one that doesn’t really motivate you to keep playing. To keep grinding. I imagine it’s what a real zombie apocalypse would be like, we just wanted more from a game about it."
GF365: "Here are the best zombie games for Xbox One. Many of these post-apocalyptic zombie games are also available on other platforms. Plus, you can play any of these games on Xbox Series X and S via backward compatibility."
The Humble Survival Instinct Bundle just launched recently. It includes seven items including State of Decay 2, Chernobylite, The Long Dark, and more. As always, a percentage goes to charity.
Daily Video Game writes: "Today, Xbox Store has just kicked off its Lunar New Year and Publisher Spotlight Series sales for Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One users, featuring over 400 games on sale that heavily discounts AAA games, recent releases, Xbox 360 era games, and more!"
I’m very disappointed because I thought the idea of having a community where you and others work together to protect your premises from zombie onslaught is an amazing concept for a video game...
I wish they had taken the time to perfect the idea. Make it a full fledged game, charge 60; but deliver.
Back to back first party disappointments from Microsoft. They need to stop worrying so much about monitization and GaaS and focus on shipping great games.
When even Xboxachievements cant give this game a decent score, you know its a mess
I gotta read the review because I'm not understanding how it could be a step back...?
Edit: after reading it seems he means that it's a step back because of the bugs? He doesn't really explain that statement at all. I'm not sure how a game that expands on everything from the original and which he states "At its core, this is very much a State of Decay game, so as someone who thoroughly enjoyed the original, I did find myself truly enjoying the sequel. The mechanics are nigh on identical, the core of the game that made that made the original so enjoyable is all present and correct in the sequel. ".
So a step back? Huh...
Damn, what happened to xbox?
