Xbox One vs Xbox 360 – VGChartz Gap Charts – November 2017 Update

November 2017 is the 49th month of the Xbox One being on sale. In the latest month the gap shrunk in favor of the Xbox One by 900,630 units. In the last 12 months the Xbox 360 has grown its lead by 2.32 million units. The Xbox 360 currently leads by 1.41 million.

Both consoles launched in November. The Xbox 360 launched in November 2005, while the Xbox One launched in November 2013. The Xbox One has sold 34.16 million units, while its predecessor the Xbox 360 sold 34.66 million units.

How so? The One has sold roughly the same number as the 360 in the same amount of time. It’s sales aren’t bad, it’s just that PS4 is selling more.

You may need to go back to school to learn how to count. The xbox 360 actually had exclusive games to play while I can play all Xbox one games on my pc. You silly xbox fanboys like Emilio esteves are silly and can't open your eyes enough because of all the tears to see that the xbox one is a failure. Xbox 360 sold better than the failure that is xbox one and the Xbox 360 was a bigger success

I don’t think XBO is a failure.

But it’s sales have been stagnant around 8m each year since release. The majority of that 8m always comes from the holiday season (usually half of their sales) where MS drops the price of the consoles steeply every year to make of the lack of sales for the other 10 months (a benefit for the consumer, but definitely not a corporate positive).

Meanwhile 360 is about to go into sales overdrive and avaerage 12.5m in sales annually over the next 3 years, which XBO has yet to do. This is the year where if XBO doesn’t do well at a year round $199 price, then 360 takes a big lead that will grow to over 10m in just 2 years, not to mention in 2 years we could have new consoles releasing as well.

You xbox fanboys are so silly but I'll explain it to you. Xbox 360 has a lot of exclusive titles that I can't play anywhere but the Xbox one games I can play on my pc with better performance. I'm a pc gamer that has a pc that is a lot more powerful than Xbox one where I have Xbl for free. Most people have a pc and can play Xbox one games with better performance over the Xbox one basically rendering the Xbox one useless. Seems like some fanboys would want a new Xbox one to play old 360 games because the xbox one doesn't have any software that's unique to it .

It's ok for people to play however they want to play but Xbox one is irrelevant for most gamers when they have a pc to play all their xbox one games. Xbox one is a failure because the older Xbox 360 is selling better in the same time frame and the Xbox 360 had rrod situation. You fanboys can sit and play on your irrelevant Xbox while paying for Xbox live and play inferior versions of your Xbox games . The xbox 360 will continue to trounce the Xbox one just like the switch and just like the ps4. Xbox one is irrelevant so calm down and stop crying

Except December numbers appear to have brought sales numbers where Xbox One is now selling over x360. So is x360 now a failure and XB1 a success? Your theory on this is way off.

The problem is the sales haven't been growing. Ps4 this year sold 20mil this is the Time when sales should skyrocket now that it is SUB 200$. The trend has been slowing not speeding up. Honestly think it has 50 million lifetime possible but that is a 30mil drop on the 360...

The 360 had inflated numbers due to the RRoD... so the One is actually doing better most likely. So if the 360 was deemed a success then they must be okay with the One. Obviously it ain't ps4 numbers, but certainly not "failing"

360 did a minimum of 84M units, XBox One will be lucky to hit 60M.
