Come on son, you can do better than that Microsoft

darthv722325d ago

and those are what we know about.

DarkZane2325d ago

Nope, pretty sure that's pretty much it, minus the yearly serving of Forza.

fiveby92325d ago

Pretty unimpressive lineup....

"5 Xbox One Console Exclusives That You Must Buy In 2018"

Except not many are going to buy those games.

JaguarEvolved2325d ago (Edited 2325d ago )

Lol, I like the careful wording because I'll be able to play these games on my pc with better performance over the " JAGUAR EVOLVED "

CoryHG2325d ago

it's okay though because destiny runs 10% better than yours so saying this justifies my $500 purchase

NXFather2324d ago

Hopefully that wishful thinking is actually true. Plus nothing appealing gets axed.

We should know more considering Microsoft already had four years mature their first party development this generation, yet they still seem to be coming up short in that regard.

freshslicepizza2325d ago (Edited 2325d ago )

They are trying to announce games closer to release date (same with Nintendo) but I agree, they need to be doing better as far as releases. 2017 was slim pickings.

Rude-ro2325d ago (Edited 2325d ago )

@fresh
When they just spent over a year talking about a mid gen console...
That was just a lie because they had nothing.
Not to say they are not investing, but they had not at that point.
Just like the lie about “black tusks new game”.

Highlife2325d ago

@natfanboy
Crackdown says hi
Guess your choosing to ignore that

No Man's Sky was first revealed at the VGX Awards in December 2013 released June 2016

So when was Crackdown and Sea of Thieves announced?

Crackdown 3
The game was announced at Microsoft's press conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2014 in June 2014
but it was delayed on 16 August 2017 to an unspecified spring 2018 date.
wow i wonder when it will release.

Sea of Thieves
announced In June 2015
Release date: March 20, 2018
2yrs 9 months.

Don't let facts get in your way

Aceman182324d ago

Ouch natfanboy just got schooled with hardcore facts, damn lol. Nat if your gonna to defend your console of choice its best you check your facts before just blurting them out here lol.

Anyhow like i said other than Ori the other games look totally underwhelming and I wouldn't give them a try.

Aceman182325d ago

Only one I would buy is Ori but im not buying system for one game. CD3 I was looking forward to until I saw how crappy it looked at E3.

The others dont look interesting enough to even give a try.

Cyborgg2325d ago

I rather play the unfinished and cancelled Scalebound than these games

Atanasrikard2325d ago

I am interested in four out of those five, possibly all five once I look in to the last night. I think they are doing quite well, but thanks for your faux concern.

sammarshall1022325d ago

Tbh this looks like a good lineup to me. Forza Horizon 4 will probably be added to it

@JonnS

No sane company would cancel a big selling point just to fuel some stupid fanboy war list.

Ashlen2324d ago (Edited 2324d ago )

@JonnS

That's funny because when ever anyone talks about the poor sales of Xbox games all I hear from you guys is how you bought it digital for play anywhere...

I love Crackdown (the first one not the second) but this seems more and more like it's going to be a failure...

madforaday2324d ago

I think the reversal of the always online Xbox One screwed over production for Crackdown since that game was literally all about the always online concept and the cloud. I can't imagine that helping the developers.

2324d ago
mandingo2324d ago

Hopefully the delay does this game some good

DarXyde2324d ago

This list really isn't the best, at least for me. Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a given. Other than that, my hype for Crackdown 3 isn't really there anymore; it took far too long and, while I loved the first (and this looked more like the first), I just can't bring myself to care about it anymore. If you can believe it, I still don't have The Last Guardian (though I have played it and enjoyed what I have played of it). Sea of Thieves isn't really my thing since FPS games aren't my thing and I don't have a very loving relationship with Rare anymore, though I haven't heard bad things so for those who enjoy the genre, there's likely plenty of fun to be had. I will say though, The Last Night looks really neat. The art style just feels fun and I'm quite interested in seeing how it is. I know some people who are really excited about State of Decay 2, but I don't have Live so I'm not sure how co-op would work for me. If it's couch co-op and some friends willing to buy it, I wouldn't mind picking up a copy. There's a limit to how many zombie games I can tolerate though and with Days Gone and The Last of Us, Part II not too far off, I would need to pace myself.

The list isn't terrible for whom it caters (I think most Xbox gamers would actually enjoy these games a lot). For me though, there are enough conditional clauses to make this particular list not too terribly appealing to my tastes.

TL;DR: will get Ori, loved the original. Not sure about The Last Night, but it looks fascinating.

Still weak. Come on Microsoft.

Could Helldivers 2 Be PlayStation’s Sea Of Thieves?

Opinion: Why Helldivers 2 and Sea of Thieves, despite their obvious differences, are very much the same for PlayStation and Xbox

Tired of these MS fluff pieces. Sot does not come close to what hd2 does.

danno_omen3d ago

You should probably read the article then, I wasn’t comparing the actual games

Cacabunga3d ago

How can it be PS sea of thieves when SOT is on PS5? Were you just in a hurry to write something??

MrNinosan3d ago

Make a less click baiting headline next time, and people might read bwfore judging.

z2g3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

people don't understand nuance or abstract thought. they just hear two games and decide they like one better than the other so the one they don't like can't be anything close to the one they like. I get that you are speaking in a larger context, not a direct comparison. it could be a huge community building game that has a long burn that could also extend to other platforms and or be cross platform. it could be like sea of thieves in that regard etc. never mind the knuckle draggers on this site. its impossible to have a reasonable, objective conversation here.

redknight803d ago

I know the headline is a bit bonkers but it is otherwise a good read apart from that.

InUrFoxHole3d ago

Lol you didn't read it. It's just suggesting that it would be beneficial for gamers if HD2 came to xbox. Like sea of thieves did. Don't get in your feels over it.

Magatsuhi3d ago

Its a click bait article. It benefits only xbox to bring a successful game to their failure of a console.

InUrFoxHole3d ago

Lol you big 😠 😡. Just wait till the showcase!

GamerRN3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

Yeah, this site just constantly has so many positive Xbox sm articles, I'm tired of them also... 🙄

z2g3d ago

what a surprise, more basic thinking from basic gamers. the comparison it could be a huge community building game that has a long burn that could also extend to other platforms and or be cross platform. it could be like sea of thieves in that regard etc.... sorry thoughts get more abstract than what your brain can seem to handle

Sonic18813d ago (Edited 3d ago )

Well Helldivers 2 might be releasing on Xbox in the near future

Sea of Thieves on PlayStation 5: the next big Xbox multi-platform game tested

Sea of Thieves stared off life as an Xbox exclusive, growing over time into a genuine hit with a large, committed community. Now, in an effort to increase its audience still futher, it's become a key part of Microsoft's multi-platform push.

So, no one wants to talk about how the PS5 outperforms the xbox version in multiple ways, huh?

purple1013d ago

Draw distance better / shadows better

Also he calls most ps5 “oddity’s” and uses the term “not sure why this is happening” a lot

Ps5 is just more powerful, those 2teraflop difference and Xbox fanatics saying world most powerful console, is worth zip- zero

Sea of Thieves Welcomes 40 Million Players

Joe 'Three Sheets' Neate (Executive Producer): "As I’m sure you can imagine, when it comes to Sea of Thieves my days are full of numbers. Development costs, active servers, days until the next update… Sometimes, though, a truly extraordinary number stands out – a number like 40 million, which I’m incredibly pleased to say is the number of pirates who’ve now set sail in Sea of Thieves!"

Crows906d ago (Edited 6d ago )

40 million have set sail...that's great. How many are sailing now? Monthly active users....when it actually matters. How many people purchased the game is another important number.

Gamingsince19816d ago

You don't get numbers like that from MS mouth pieces, they just like to say stuff like "this game was looked at 129 million time, the biggest amount of people browsing a game of this genre on xbox gamepass ever in the last 3 weeks compared to before gamepass was out (small print only 2 million bothered playing longer than 20 seconds and only 100 people are playing it concurrently)

It's all smoke and mirrors

nibblo6d ago

There are usually around 10,000 concurrent users on Steam not counting Xbox or PS but really it doesn't matter as long as there are enough people on the servers to play which there always were and will be for a long time now with the PS players coming on board. Same goes for how many people bought it and how many are on GP, we aren't the accountants of these console companies so why would we care?

Hofstaderman6d ago

Reporting on MAU stats is very misleading. Other companies publish units sold, MS cannot or will not due to Game Pass. We all know that their prior startegies have not panned out so now they have to actually sell games on other consoles. In any case, SoT is doing impressive preorders on PS5 and will very likely motivate Satya to release more games other than the four indicated games on their competitor's consoles. Take note Phil is radio silent....

Jingsing6d ago (Edited 6d ago )

Yeah Microsoft would tell you the start menu has had 1 billions clicks on Windows 11 to let you know it is beating Windows 10 when the reality is something else. 10,000 concurrent steam users is enough for me to extrapolate there aren't millions playing this on console either. Lets not forget the motivation to bring this to PS5 is already an admission of poor player count. I'd prefer it is Microsoft would just say nothing when it comes to numbers as it makes them look stupid while trying to make everyone else look like an idiot.

Abear216d ago

40 Mil across Stream, Windows 10, and Xbox. Healthy numbers for sure, but when PC is the biggest platform, I expected more. It’ll be interesting to see how it does on PlayStation. Very well could be double that player count in 6 months with PS too. It’s crazy for developers to skip the most popular platform, not sure why they’d want to, but they must have had their rea$ons.

Christopher6d ago

PC is the market with the most competition for these type of games as well, so it's actually easier to break in on consoles where these games aren't as prominent.
