The Evil Within 2 Review (PS4 Pro) - Pixelated Gamer

The Evil Within 2 maintains fantastic pacing throughout its 20-25 hour campaign. Players will find themselves on the edge of their seat and nervous around every corner. The nightmarish creatures, bosses and psychological scares are some of the best seen this generation. Shinji Mikami and Tango Gameworks has crafted a truly terrifying survival horror experience that will no doubt stand the test of time with the other greats in this genre.

Shinji Mikami has done it again! This looks quite a bit better than the first game. How is the difficulty?

BootHammer2379d ago

Yes he has =) It's such a good game, well worth the wait. You can choose casual, survival, nightmare or classic for difficulty. It can be lowered while playing, but you can't increase it if you find it to be too easy. I recommend survival. Nightmare can be immediately chosen this time around if you really want a challenge, but you do have to beat the game first to unlock classic (which adds some additional obstacles and there are no autosaves).

Boothammer probably hasn't even played it, his recommendation is straight out of the review...almost word for word lol

He actually stepped back for the second game to just supervise the development. The director of the second game is John Johanas. You can definitely see Shinji Mikami influence in this game though.

damn that's a beefy campaign, looks like I won't be disappointed for getting it day 1!
