Movies Games and Tech writes: It’s almost ironic that Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle only exists because of time travelling misadventures, since anyone living in the past would laugh in Nintendo’s face if a company representative travelled back in time, to let people know it was letting Ubisoft run wild with its sacred Mario franchise. Not only that, but the very thought of a team up between the Mushroom Kingdom crowd and Rabbids just seems like a recipe for trouble. But is that the case or was it wise of Nintendo to throw Mario and co in the deep end with a group of deranged beings?
When a game hits on a good idea, some developers are content to play it safe for the sequel, making a few refinements but largely stick to what worked the first time. That totally makes sense. But Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope is not that kind of sequel; even though Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle surprised us all with its smart XCOM-style tactics in Nintendo clothing, this followup maintains its best ideas but reinvents itself to the point where it immediately feels very different. It’s bigger and better in nearly every way, with a more freeform and customizable take on combat and an almost completely rethought overworld that’s much less linear and absolutely packed with puzzles. The story’s all over the place and the Switch can’t always handle everything smoothly, but it’s a fantastic game that can be played as either an enjoyable cakewalk or a deep, demanding tactical challenge, all while maintaining its zany sense of humor.
The amazing thing about Mario is that this character is still meaningful, while at the sametime being anything.
When Mario + Rabbids creative director Davide Soliani first started working on Kingdom Battle, he was given express instructions from Ubisoft: Rabbids do not, under any circumstances, talk. But now, for the sequel Sparks of Hope, they do.
Daily Video Game writes: "Today, eShop has just kicked off a new digital game sale that features several popular games such as Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, STAR WARS: Knights of the Old Republic, and many more from Aspyr, Ubisoft, Navila Software Japan, Electronic Arts, and Outright Games for Nintendo Switch gamers now!"
there is no way this game is a 6. The game is awesome, and I know it isn't for everyone but it is objectively a solid 8, subjectively I'd give it a 10.
The graphics are crisp without any aliasing (even in portable mode) It runs smooth with 0 slowdown or stutter. It is content rich with replayability, in between matches there is a nice exploratory element in the over world in which you try to collect coins and weapons, there are simple but varied puzzles to do this. In battle things are fast and chaotic with a nice challenge curve. The story is ridiculous so far but I wouldn't call that a bad thing.
Also, the rabbids are really not that annoying at all in it, which was my greatest fear with the game
What sites will do for clicks...
Nah it is very much so better then a 6
7 should be the lowest score this game should get. A 6 pretty much tell me you are playing a genre you wouldn't enjoy.
For me so far it's would be somewhere between at 9-9.5
Don't agree, the game is at least an 8.5
The thing is, this game mainly appeals to nintendo fans... Ppl who arent will see it, and without playing say "meh its not for me" no matter how amazing it might be.
