This is the norm now, for every major shooter or game similar to that to have it's own eco-system, that nickle and dime you for every single item.

I know devs have rising costs and prices stay at $60 but it's getting way out of hand.

Destiny one has micro transactions for cosmetic items that you can aquire in game as well

Activision-Blizzard will not give the 30% to Steam. I think by next xmas, all Activision games will be on Blizzard Battle.net. So we will have uPlay for Ubisoft, Origin for EA, Battle.net for Blizzard and Activision, and Steam for everything else. And then we still have Playstation and Nintendo for their exclusives if they are for you.

True, but no exclusives. GOG is basically DRM-free Steam with a much more limited library. I love CDPR (my favorite dev next to Nintendo and Naughty Dog), but I prefer Steam/Blizzard because all my cheeves and friends are there.

Destiny 2 is currently the sole game under a new "Activision" banner on Battle.net, so yes it seems highly likely that Activision will start to distribute games on their own platform. I wouldn't be surprised to see COD release on Steam for a few more iterations though.

It's an excellent platform. I would love for it to be for Act-Blizz and none of the ridiculous fluff and early access garbage that Steam hosts.

We've known this. Activision own Blizzard and Bungie and D2 is gonna be huge. Why would they?

Activision doesn't own Blizzard nor Bungie. if you would have fired up one blizzard game since their partnership you would have known. Do you think activision would allow a company they own to publish their own games and not put an activision cinematic in when the game launches?

Because Steam is a good platform to sell games on (not so much for a big publisher) because a crapton of people use steam. It wouldn't surprise me if they put it on steam right before Destiny 3 releases.

Well, technically. Activision and Blizzard are under the same company - Activison Blizzard.own blizzard. They just run the studios in an independent model

Bungie on the other hand is in a publisher deal (10 years), but who knows what will happen afterwards.

Eh, I lost interest in this game after playing the Xbox One beta. It did not do anything to push the FPS genre forward... just more or less of the same. (Not that I have a problem with more of the same... I have been playing Call of Duty for about 11 years) Destiny just was not fun for me

Yep. The beta was a mess for me. 4v4 at 30fps without any considerable graphical improvements.

We had 6v6 in D1 and it launched on ps360. EVERYONE expected a huge improvement with the D2 Beta, since it was only launched on the current gen consoles, meaning it should've had more graphical or computational prowess - like better AI/environmental interaction.

And with no way to unlock those sweet dance emotes through real true gameplay, fuck the bungie corporation and their hilariously huge Activision budget. I can play games with less than 10% of D2's budget and get better results.

The problem is they based the engine Destiny is build in on the halo reach engine. So Im not surprised D2 is even more limited than D1 given to add content to D1 was a major undertaking.

Not sure why people would expect it to come to steam when they already announced they are using blizzard to handle this. why would they divide it between to launchers? that makes no sense.
