Bungie Confirms That Destiny 2 Won’t Come To Steam

“Destiny transactions on Steam were made available in error. All purchases will be refunded manually by Valve. Sorry for the confusion!”

TracyMorgan2438d ago

"It remains to be seen how microtransactions may be handled in Destiny 2." Why the hell do microtransactions exist in full price games?

Sgt_Slaughter2438d ago

This is the norm now, for every major shooter or game similar to that to have it's own eco-system, that nickle and dime you for every single item.

I know devs have rising costs and prices stay at $60 but it's getting way out of hand.

Jmanzare2437d ago (Edited 2437d ago )

Destiny one has micro transactions for cosmetic items that you can aquire in game as well

Activision-Blizzard will not give the 30% to Steam. I think by next xmas, all Activision games will be on Blizzard Battle.net. So we will have uPlay for Ubisoft, Origin for EA, Battle.net for Blizzard and Activision, and Steam for everything else. And then we still have Playstation and Nintendo for their exclusives if they are for you.

NotAfanBoyy2437d ago (Edited 2437d ago )

Epic Games Launcher and GOG Galaxy.. just to name couple more. And didn't Bethesda or someone announce they were doing their own launcher soon?

Takwin2437d ago

True, but no exclusives. GOG is basically DRM-free Steam with a much more limited library. I love CDPR (my favorite dev next to Nintendo and Naughty Dog), but I prefer Steam/Blizzard because all my cheeves and friends are there.

Mithan2437d ago

And I don't blame them, especially when millions have battle. Net already.

TankCrossing2437d ago

Destiny 2 is currently the sole game under a new "Activision" banner on Battle.net, so yes it seems highly likely that Activision will start to distribute games on their own platform. I wouldn't be surprised to see COD release on Steam for a few more iterations though.

Coming to Battle.net, yeah? That's fine. It's just another launcher. One that I use anyway, so this is fine by me.

AcidDvl2437d ago

I don't understand people's problem with this. Battle.net is the second best platform after Steam.

freshslicepizza2437d ago

People don't have issues with the server, just trying to amalgamate your friends from other services.

Takwin2437d ago

It's an excellent platform. I would love for it to be for Act-Blizz and none of the ridiculous fluff and early access garbage that Steam hosts.

maybelovehate2437d ago

I don't have an issue with Battle.net but I would prefer it was on Steam.

10 Years Later, Bungie STILL Hasn't Improved Warlock Mobility in Destiny 2

Warlocks in Destiny 2 are great for loads of things. Healing? We got that. Awesome PvE action? Sure! Warlock Mobility? Severely lacking.

I already maxed out a free character just to see how far you can go, and it's not very far. They call it free to play, but it's more like a demo, which are free in the first place.
