Former Konami Employees Blacklisted Across Industry

If you once worked for Konami, don't try putting them on your resume. Reportedly, the video game giant is now preventing "ex-Kons" from putting them down as job experience, even going so far as denying former employees health care via connections elsewhere. Unsurprisingly, former employees who went on to work for Kojima Productions seem to be the ones most under fire.

Konami are literally scums that should be wipe off the face of the earth doing to their former employee over this.

It's seems I need to activate my Bankai for this.

UltraNova2497d ago

Well said. Jim Sterling should elevate his "Fuck Konami" segment status to full weekly episodes.

Can they even surprise us even further? Damn Komami...damn!

sonarus2497d ago

Over time their business practices will screw up their profits an they will be gone. They don't put out any games that matter to me except MAYBE pro evo soccer

NewMonday2497d ago

"Kojima Productions" looks much better in a resume anyway

freshslicepizza2497d ago

There should be a lawsuit building if true. Konami needs to be exploited on how they treat employess, past and present if any of this is true.

morganfell2497d ago

This is why Boycott Metal Gear Survive needs to become the anthem of gamers everywhere.

indysurfn2496d ago

This is coming back to bite them HARD. They will reach critical mass on reputation! People will have to make a decision. Do I want to take a job at Konami, and never be able to get another job? And also be labeled a scum for it? Or do I want to be able to apply to 99.99999999% of jobs in my field?

CitizenFour2496d ago

Sonarus,

while I agree with you to some degree, Konami also makes slot machines, which is a huge business. I do hope they fail in the games industry at the very least. They deserve to drown.

People still want to buy the new MGS ? hopefully not

conanlifts2497d ago

Did they even show it at e3. I don't recall any konami news at all.

JokerBoy4222497d ago

@sd11 yeah they did but no one really cared. The whole setup they had didnt get alot of attention.

XanderZane2496d ago

I won't be buying it. Was Konami even at this years E3?

UltraNova2496d ago

Unfortunately, at least 50% of gamers are oblivious to corporate practices revolving gaming, so yes people will buy a game with MGS in the title.

Its up to us to help spread the word out and boycott the shit out of them.

thats why i didnt buy that bomberman game....

and thats why i wont buy anything else from them..

XanderZane2496d ago (Edited 2496d ago )

The only game they have coming out next is Metal Gear Survive (PS4, XB1 & PC - 2018) and we know it will be crap without Kojima.
Over the past 4 years (2014, 2015, 2016 & 2017) the only games they've released were Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, Metal Gear Solid & Pro Evolution Soccer. Oh and Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu Heroes (2016) for 3DS. That's it. I'd say Konami is probably running out of money and they are angry that Kojima (their money maker) left them and took a large chunk of their employees with him. No one cares about Konami anymore. Only thing I wanted was another Suikoden game on the PS4. Oh well, that is never going to happen.

Konami finds new ways to sink lower

TheOttomatic912497d ago (Edited 2497d ago )

If you honestly want to hurt Konami then hit em where it hurts the money just don't by anymore games from them and they'll change their tune soon.

Snookies122497d ago (Edited 2497d ago )

I stopped after MGS:V. They certainly won't see anything from me ever again.

kent800820072497d ago

They make most of their money with Yugioh and slot machines, I don't think kids and Japanese workers give much of a shit about their business practices.

morganfell2497d ago

Don't refuse to hit them because you can't knock them out. Wound them wherever possible. Death by a thousand cuts if necessary. And best of all, humiliate them as much as possible in the public eye. Regardless of money and this being the 2017, humiliation still carries weight in Japan.

RommyReigns2497d ago

And if you do buy Konami, make sure it's second hand

1Victor2497d ago

The problem with that is that the ones we want to help are the ones that will suffer the most as the employees will be fired and can't use the company name on resume or be taken to court (I thing I might be wrong but that is illegal).

And I guess I'll never buy anything with their name on it if this is how theyre going to treat their employees.

If there was ever a time for gamers to boycott a company this is it. Don't even click on articles related to their games to disuade outlets from covering them due to low clicks.

Hit em where it hurts.

These seems like one of the best options for use with a PS5, high quality sound and design. However, you will likely need a dongle for use with many of your bluetooth devices such as an iPhone as it requires a LE signal.

Pocketpair Studio Boss Calls Out Tencent For Developing A Palworld Clone

The game in question appears to be dubbed Auroria on Steam, which shares a plethora of similarities with Palworld.

Inverno22h ago

No offense but Palworld isn't that original either, with that said… ew Tencent no thank you. I love the survival genre but all these half baked early access games have ruined the genre for me.

exputers7h ago

>Palworld isn't that original either

Can't disagree with that, but it did spin the Pokemon dynamic in a unique way, you gotta give Pocketpair that. Now by doing so, prepare for a ton of Palworld clones, both on PC and mobile.

Christopher1h ago

True, but big pocket people pushing out little pocket people is a huge problem. It's Walmart of the digital world.

Inverno1h ago

Not much that can be done though. Tencent been making clones of what's popular for a while. I don't touch anything they make, except for Don't Starve but i bought that before Klei sold themselves to the devil.

Christopher48m ago(Edited 47m ago)

@Inverno: There's a lot that can be done, actually. Just no one is willing to do it. Anti-competitive/monopoly laws literally exist for this exact reason. Governments are just letting big corporations do whatever they want.
