Gameplay looks sick. I was afraid it would be too much of a departure from the originals, but it looks like a perfect evolution to me.

I think it fits right at home with the God of War narrative and mythology and I definitely like the tone of Kratos being a bit different and a little more human but I also love that they still show the absolute brutal barbaric Savage nature of him absolutely gutting dudes and cutting them in half!!!!

What they showed looked so much more epic than what I was expecting this is literally looking like it's shaping to be one of the best action games of all time!!!

Loved what the are doing with GOW, I also really liked Spiderman, the rest was fine but the VR stuff bored me. In the end I was a little underwhelmed. I thought for sure they were going to have at least one of those "WOW" moments or at least a new exclusive IP announcement. 'meh both conferences lacked that gut punch....worst E3 in years imo.

@4show

MS a 5? It was a solid 6 to me, they did learn from the past, more game trailers, less talking. Still had a few cringey moments like that eports commentator. Also multiplayer scripted gameplay is always a little yuck in my eyes. Also Sea of Thieves took a tad too long, looked great tho, but they should've halved it. I expected way, way more (console) exclusive tho, they only showed 5 of them of which only Lucky Tales was unexpected, 3 were from previous years and new Ori which expected to come. Also not a fan of the not quite clear messaging they did with timed exclusives by calling them "launch exclusives", was unnecessary to make it sound like they have more exclusives than they actually had. And not something I expected them to be able to do, but at least I expected them to try somewhat: they didn't blow me away with reasons to get a One X. It's hard to see the visual differences on a console that isn't released yet with games that aren't out yet either.

Sony disappointed me quite a bit as well, it was short, way shorter than expected and only 2 new games (besides the VR ones) announced, the rest we've already seen before. I think they are trying to announce games a little later than they usually do, still I would have liked to see them now already! Let's hope they have something to show at PSX (or GamesCom, Paris, Tokyo) but past years they seemed to have shown most of their stuff during E3 so I'm not expecting much at those other shows.

Was kinda sad I stayed up for Sony's pressco! (was 3am my time)

4Sh0w2500d ago (Edited 2500d ago )

Agreed Aenea,

I'm just harder on Microsoft because they had more to prove coming in as a longtime Xbox fan it was lacking. Anthem was hands down my favorite of E3, that's the caliber of game Microsoft's 1st party should have had to show off.

i actually hate the god of war series, always been a button mashing, graphics showcase. However, I can say without question, this new game looks absolutely amazing.

Aenea2500d ago

I don't hate them, but wasn't a huge fan either, this new one tho looks to be my type of game for sure!

hulk_bash19872501d ago

So hyped, God of War has been one of my favorite game series of all time. This, Spiderman and Days Gone look so freaking amazing. Just like this year, 2018 is gonna be an amazing year for PS4.

Ninver2501d ago

God of war looks fantastic. Also GTSPORT is a fall 2017 release. This holiday will be megaton!

_-EDMIX-_2501d ago

Did GT Sport even get a trailer?

Where they strapped for time?

I feel like they held back a lot of announcements probably for PlayStation experience which I thought they might do but I never expected them to have some of their Blockbuster titles skip a press event

Maybe they have plans to only show stuff like the last of us 2 at Playstation experience

luckytrouble2501d ago

GT Sport was in the media showcase that happened an hour before the actual press conference. There were a few smaller announcements packed in that hour that most people didn't see because they thought all the information was in the actual press conference.

_-EDMIX-_2501d ago

Really? that sucks I actually really really wanted to see the latest trailer.

I wish I knew that because I actually would have watched the hour before to see some of those trailers

rainslacker2501d ago (Edited 2501d ago )

I was more surprised at all the stuff Sony didn't show really.

While a decent conference because it had a good showing of games, with some of the VR stuff lulling there in the middle, it seems Sony actually held back a lot this E3. Considering how they wen't full throttle the last two E3's, I think I set my expectations pretty high for this one.

SOTC, more GOW gameplay, Spider-man Game play were the highlights for me. But I can say that the new gameplay footage of Days Gone made me interested instead of waiting to see more.

I fully expected Sucker Punch's new IP, so that was the biggest disappointment.

Games mostly looked great though. No need for 4K IMO, and it's funny that people think 4K will trounce what Sony just showed in some of those games.

BlackTar1872501d ago

they saw MS underwelm and put them into psx.

Edito2501d ago

I felt the same but i think they played the Microsoft game, if MS had showed more interesting AAA games i have no doubt that Sony would have shown the big guns, i think they held back... but it was amazing even so...

Xbox won this year sorry sony

UCForce2501d ago (Edited 2501d ago )

Nope, I think Ubisoft win this year. But at least, Sony show true exclusive.

Aenea2500d ago

Ubi surprised me a lot this year, yes!

With multiplats and indies? Sit at the serious table please

DialgaMarine2501d ago

Yeah, $500 for a Netflix box that plays Minecraft in 4K.. Hold me back...

Dark_Knightmare22501d ago

lol thanks for the laugh if anybody won it was Ubisoft with Sony coming in second. Ms conference was seriously average which is why you've seen nothing but negative articles about it since yesterday

Elit3Nick2501d ago

Lolno, I'm a MS guy (don't own PS4, pretty much all PC now), but MS's conference was mediocre, with an over-reliance on indies and too little shown for Crackdown and State of Decay 2. Still, this doesn't excuse the absolutely cancerous trolling by this site's PS fanbase (not implying MS fanboys aren't doing the same like this guy here), but seriously people, grow the f*** up.

Aenea2500d ago

And not ONE single Indie during Sony's pressco, that was surprising to say the least....

Crackdown's no MP gameplay was a silly decision, not sure why they didn't show it...

Bhuahahaha2501d ago

yeah enjoy your minecraft 4k!

Got of war spiderman and Detroit. They are my must have 4me. This e3 was weak compared to sony other showings. But they won e3 overall with them 3 games alone. 2018 going be great for owning a ps4 just like this year has. Hzd dlc also cant wait.

_-EDMIX-_2501d ago (Edited 2501d ago )

Don't forget Shadow the Colossus remake!!!

Don't forget they also announced two new IPs

The inpatient
Bravo team

Both by the developer that created Until Dawn

LOGICWINS2501d ago

Days Gone actually looked more interesting to me than God of War. Spiderman looked phenomenal. Then we have TLOU 2 coming out as well. I'm fine with those three Western games for 2018.

I prefer JRPGs to any other genre, so Tokyo Game Show is my E3. Yakuza 6, Shenmue 3, Danganronpa V3 etc.

rainslacker2501d ago

I dunno, I"m digging the direction GOW is taking. LIke that they are tying the old and the new together, and I think this kind of story direction is what the series needed. The story in the prior games, while decent enough, lacked a lot of depth IMO.

But I can say that the Days Gone game play did make me go from "wait and see"(not big on zombie games), to interested, because it seems like it's going to have a real story, and some interesting game play.

Elit3Nick2501d ago

This whole E3 has been weak in comparison to the last few years, Sony and Ubi's conferences would be considered average overall, but sadly everyone else simply had mediocre showings. EA focused too much on Sports games, Bathesda didn't have anything of impact like last year, and MS had a woeful lack of exclusives, with the few they had having little gameplay.

UCForce2501d ago

Yeah, Ubisoft and Sony has a solid show, but overall this year it doesn't feel special. It's like E3 2012 over again.

SoldierTypeNtGen2501d ago

Yeah and dont for get about days gone, shadow of the colossus & uncharted the lost legacy!!

Might be in a minority here but I didn't enjoy any of the sections playing as Atreus or having companions at all. If I had my way it'd be Kratos on his lonesome from start to finish. Straightforward action gameplay without the endless boring chatter.
