The Scorpio and Windows 10 have some lessons for Sony to imbibe with the eventual PS5.
Danish from eXputer: "DLC for Baldur's Gate 3 could resolve some unanswered questions and offer more sought-after content for what is otherwise one of the greatest RPGs in recent memory."
See this is what damn near killed gaming in the first place, DLC! I respect a good game that’s already heavily content driven. Whatever happened to having a good game, playing it from start to finish, and then enjoying it for what it was and waiting for a sequel with a whole new outlook? I hate the fact that there are people out there willing to get nickeled and dimed by developers then complain about how we get pelted with unnecessary dlc.
I feel more devs need to do what they are doing. Tbh, I couldn’t care less if dlc was gone completely. I could go as far as saying dlc ruins game preservation as well. Not going to go too deep into that but basically Baldur’s Gate devs gets my thumb of approval.

Microsoft's strategy with Scorpio isn't necessarily going to affect how Sony handles PS5, as long as PS4 dominates and the strength of their platform-defining exclusives are what everybody is talking about.
What Microsoft sees as offering value in services and features, the mass market doesn't choose to agree to with their hard-earned. And as the article points out, Sony cares more for the future investment into games of all kinds, and Microsoft more for investment into services and features, which is why their games lineup can't touch what PS4 has going on.
As long as PS5 is going to have a strong creative lineup to compliment its release onwards and is significantly more powerful, this whole power race is going to get messy especially for those that really, really believe power is the game changer. Which it's not.
Sony will shape the direction of PS5 pure and simple! Games have always shaped the direction of PlayStation even during PS3's era. Sony didn't stop what they were doing to see what Microsoft were doing! No they just continued to do what has worked for them every generation! And that is deliver top quality exclusive titles.
Who knows?
For Sony to maintain their position within the games console market, they need to ensure that they continue to develop compelling exclusives, as well as securing platform exclusives from third parties, and further improve PSN. But, it is also important that Sony commits to being more consumer friendly. In regards to that I hope the PS5 will be fully backwards compatible with PS4 titles for both physical and digital content, and I also hope Sony follow the example of Steam and MS in offering a similar refund scheme.
