Game review: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe deserves a perfect score | Metro UK

The best Mario Kart ever gets even better on Nintendo Switch, with a brand-new Battle mode making for the ultimate multiplayer game.

InTheZoneAC2552d ago

their wii u review got a 9/10 but 3 years later it gets a 10/10?

Bimkoblerutso2552d ago

There is something seriously screwy about these Switch reviews...for real.

Erik73572552d ago

the games are just really fun to play

Nitrowolf22552d ago

well it is the same game, but with more and a bit of a different experience (on the go) so is it really a surprise?

mcstorm2552d ago

But more has been added to it. and the have fixed the issues people has with the 1st. No battle arena mode. All DLC, 2 Weapons ect so for me if it was 9 out of 10 they just made it 10 out of 10 fixing the complaints.

Erik73572552d ago (Edited 2552d ago )

Another higher rates game.

The biggest complaint people had about last one was the lack of battle mode

deafdani2552d ago

Yes, because this version is much better. What's so hard to understand?

Looking Ahead: The Lingering Questions About the Next Mario Kart

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "10 years. It’s been almost 10 years since the last mainline release in the Mario Kart series. Mario Kart 8 came out for the Wii U in 2014 and became the best-selling game for the system by a sizeable margin, and later pulled the same magic trick on the Nintendo Switch under the stage name Deluxe. All in all, it's sold nearly 70 million copies over the last decade and is still selling like hot cakes to this day, so it’s no wonder Nintendo has been in no rush to replace it. However, with rumors of a new system being just around the corner, and reports a few years back that a new Mario Kart is indeed under way, it seems the era of 8 might very well be drawing to a close. It’s an exciting prospect to be sure, but after two Nintendo systems with Mario Kart 8 at their heart, a lot of questions remain about how Nintendo will choose to follow it up."

I hope they just keep building on Mario Kart 8; Add a track-creation tool, and probably open it up to more Nintendo IPs with new tracks and characters, so Metroid, Punch Out, Starfox, Animal Crossing, etc etc.

there wont be a new one until the switch 2 comes out.

nintendo needs their bangers early on

The 7 Best Selling Switch Games of All Time

The Nintendo Switch has been an undeniable success for Nintendo, but which games make the best selling chart for the console?

GotGame81861d ago

Animal crossing came out the week the entire world shutdown. Yeah I bought it.

kevco3361d ago

Agreed. I think a lot of the AC: H sales have to do with early lockdown players!

I mean, I would've played it anyway. But I guess there's a lot of people who got into it because of the hype and their new found free time!

DivineHand12561d ago

Nintendo made out like bandits with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It's the same game that was on the WiiU except they added 2 item boxes like in double dash.

kevco3361d ago

It's the Capcom method:

1. Add a new word to the end of the title and features that should've been expected first time around.
2. Charge full price for it.
3. Profit.

this is why i always say that Nintendo will always be fine. look at those numbers lol

and those are all first party games.
