Titanfall 2, Watch Dogs 2 and Dishonored 2 all underperformed in the sales charts last year. Even the mighty Infinite Warfare, though still a huge seller, saw significantly fewer sales than 2015’s Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3. Team OXM debate why sequels might be losing their lustre and what this could mean for the future of games.
Cultured Vultures: These 15 unresolved video cliffhangers could be solved in the future, though if we’re really honest with ourselves, we all know there’s no chance in hell of that happening.
Never say never, I really didn't expect to ever see Space Marine 2 and 12 years later its almost here.
So there is still hope for all these games.
I've completed 5 of the games on the list, but the author forgot to include Advent Rising. It was supposed to be a trilogy, but it bombed hard, and the two sequels never got made. It was Mass Effect, a console generation before Mass Effect.
The game is buggy and unpolished, it needed a few more months of development, but the potential was there. At the end of the game, you have all these super abilities, I remember the stomp attack that created a shockwave being especially powerful.
I personally think days gone will recieve some sort of sequel at some point. I'm personally also hoping it's not the rumored multiplayer online stuff. I'd think most that enjoyed it would rather thisnto.
Sony needs to dust off Sly Cooper and Days Gone so needs a sequel two of my favorite Sony titles. Bulletstorm I love great game wish it also got a sequel. And I wish Namco would finally give Enslaved a sequel another great game.

I think Cyberpunk is close in gameplay. Sure it's a futuristic setting but I find alot of similarities with the two games.
These open world games might scratch your Grand Theft Auto itch until GTA 6 comes out.
and all of them were multiplatform titles ....here all the stupid arguments that exclusives are bad for gamers crumble like a tower of cards...we all now understand that these arguments come from payed up authors who serve specific companies that most probably currently are losing the sales war (Forbes , Polygon)....though i ill admit that all the mentioned game were generic and uninspired as hell, having boring gameplay/plot/story/mechanics that couldnt attract gamers , so developers are mainly responsible for their bad performance
Dishonored 2 is amazing and easily one of my favorite games, if not, my favorite game of 2016
It's always time for new IPs.
This generation is turning out to be a bust. It hasn't produced a single new IP that got a trilogy. Very few new IP's even got a sequel. A lot of them were really fun too.
