Skewed and Reviewed have posted some PS 4 Pro Gameplay action of Drawn to Death which is free this month for PS Plus members.
The servers shut down today (March 25th, 2019), less than two years since the game launched.
This game just wasn't good, which is a shame because I was one of five people that actually liked the artstyle. It had a cool tutorial though, I'll give it that much
I was kind of underwhelmed when Jaffe and crew delivered this one. It felt, looked and played like a leftover ps2 era project. However, it was true to its roots.
I can honestly say that this was the worst PS exclusive in history IMO. I only played it for 10 minutes though.
In our latest editorial, we discuss Telltale's handling of their studio closure, Sony's decision to pull the plug on Drawn to Death, and the reveal of a new legendary Pokémon.
It’s a noble notion to say they should take care of their people and not worry about finishing the game, but that’s kind of a stretch realistically. Finishing the game may be the beatnik they can do at this point and it’s better than nothing. My only problem with this whole situation is how did the suits not see this coming. They were hiring couple of weeks ago and now theyre belly up. Did the finance department not know how dire things were? That part doesn’t Add up.
The inevitable has arrived for David Jaffe’s Drawn to Death.
This game was sentenced to death right from the start... PVP game with Pay2Win elements? Good luck with that...
Creator of God of war has been reduced to this.
Single player is where his strengths are at, he should focus on that instead.
Also, I didn't even know the game released.
this is what its come down to for david jaffe, offering his games now for free to sony? he was once known for god of war and twisted metal, then he hated the pressure of aaa games and made callling all cars for psn, which failed commercially. now he's back with this and its free to plus members. does david think he owes sony for his success or something? this should be another rocket league type of release. offer it free on ps4, get some recognition but also sell it on the pc and other platforms for $9.99
This game is actually really fun, runs well and is funny. Im happy i got it free on pro. Puts alot of other AAA mp games to shame.
Played some last night before I went back to Horizon, but a real great game, cleaver art style, great gameplay I'll comeback once my obsession is finished with Horizon.
People are hating on it because....
A) They Don't like David Jaffe (I know he's kind of stern and blunt... He tells it how he feels it.. But that is definitely no reason to hate the guy that created Twisted Metal and God of War... He's an industry icon. He's extremely passionate about his games and team)
B) They don't understand the theme, style, or graphics... They think it looks UGLY AND HORRIBLE... but the THING IS... IT's SUPPOSED to look UGLY AND HORRIBLE on PURPOSE...
The entire game.... Every single aspect of it is from the mind of a "teenagers notebook doodles".... The characters, the level designs, the weapons, etc, etc, all of these are the creation of this twisted teenager...
You basically are playing inside the pages of a NOTEBOOK that has been doodled in by this twisted minded teenager...
Think back to all the times you've spaced out or daydreamed or were just bored and started to doodle in your notebooks, binders, or textbooks.... That's what the WHOLE IDEA of this game is about...
The reason it looks janky, raw, and un-trained is because none of us are professional and trained artists when we're in highschool doodling inside our notebooks.
Watch some fucking developer diary videos or something people... You'll actually learn a thing or two... In fact some of the artists on the game even talk about how it is super difficult to design stuff to look HORRIBLE and SHITTY on purpose.
So fucking tired of people being close-minded to video games... Just like the judgemental ass people in real life that don't give a person the time of day because of their appearance.
Awesome game .
