Releasing The PS4 Slim & PS4 Neo Together Makes Perfect Sense

Earlier this year, developer documentation leaked the existence of an up and coming PlayStation console codenamed ‘Neo’. The console was said to deliver a superior graphical capacity to that of the current PS4.

The anticipation on September 7th is driving me crazy! I cannot wait to see what Sony has in store for us.

ShadowKnight2803d ago (Edited 2803d ago )

Probably a new IP from Sucker punch! We already know Neo, PS4 Slim, and PSVR is coming

corroios2803d ago

Well i really dont believe that the Neo is gonna launch in setember. We got zero leaks, even the Slim was leaked and almost nobody was talking about the slim.

I dont understand how could sony hide the launch of neo at setember when today is 22 august.

This must be the best kept secret ever. Zero pictures.

seanpitt232803d ago (Edited 2803d ago )

Well I think they could launch it the end of October like the original ps4 and bang on 3 years.

Sony has been very busy and got there work cut out releasing the ps4 slim,PSVR and the neo all in the next 3 months!

My predictions ps4 slim $299 1TB
Ps4 slim $249 500gb

Ps4 Neo $499 2TB
Ps4 Neo $449 1TB
And I think the neo model will come with a upgraded dualshock controller like a more premium model.

freshslicepizza2803d ago

there is no way sony will lower any ps4 to $249. you will be lucky if they have any price drop at all. if there is it will be $299.

no need for a slim but sony will likely come out with one because they always had before.

What are you talking about hide? It's already been leaked so I'm pretty positive there's nothing there still hiding other than not confirming a release date.

Also the previous PlayStation revisions I've actually always released within a couple weeks or days after announcement

Maybe you better educate yourself on the company's history with releasing revisions... I think it's very likely it's going to launch at the ending of September or the beginning of October

These are great times to be a gamer! Bring it Sony.

_LarZen_2803d ago

Announcing yes. Releasing no.

Multiple hardware and poor software almost killed gaming in the 80's and it eventually killed Sega as a hardware manufacturer. Looks like the industry is ignoring that and doing it again.

seanpitt232803d ago (Edited 2803d ago )

Totally different times in the 80s people wasn't as tech savvy! and there wasn't as many people as there are now who are passionate about games it was alien to people back then.

Gaming wasn't a multi billion $ market back then it was a new thing! people really didn't understand it and it was very expensive back in the 80s all computer technology was.

This will not harm the industry it will make it more stronger. The PS360 massive 6 to 7 year cycle held the market and innovation back and everybody knew it.

_-EDMIX-_2803d ago

Your example doesn't make any sense because the comparison what companies releasing brand-new platforms with entire new markets, PlayStation 4 slim and Neo are merely revisions, something that the PlayStation has actually had since the first PlayStation.

I'm sorry but you don't know what you're talking about, ironically enough PlayStations history disproves your own stupid Theory

Phunkydiabetic12803d ago

Revisions or not these are going to be full priced (and possibly more) consoles. No one beyond the hardcore nerds will associate them as "revisions". They are effectively new consoles.

_-EDMIX-_2803d ago

@phunk- a revision is not a subjective term its object

it's irrelevant whether or not a consumer sees it as that as I'm pretty positive they know what a slim version is as they received one at every single generation of the PlayStations existence.

The PlayStation Neo is merely an option and that's going to be known because it does not have its own games a consumer would have to be pretty stupid to not understand this and in my personal opinion that's irrelevant to Sony or Microsoft that some consumers are too slow or uneducated enough to read what they're buying. At some point you need to stop trying to cater and defend dumb people.

Is the literacy something that doesn't exist to you? Do you seriously not understand how idiotic it is to try to use some sort of confusion as a defense when both companies are being very transparent about the products that are releasing?

So please explain to me for the last 20 years what have PlayStation fans been associating the slim versions with? Brand new consoles? Are you telling me every single generation a series of slow Gamers believed the slim versions are brand new consoles? Lol

If they could go three generations in a row of revisions and be able to understand that they're not brand new consoles I think they'll be fine mind you what is your point? Is Sony solution to never release it? So don't make money because some people are too slow to understand what's going on? Exactly what do you propose they do?
