No Man's Sky currently sits at a 70 on metacritic, which is not bad score for such a divisive indie game. The fact that it is so successful financially is absolutely great, it means the game will get long support from both Sony and Hello Games.

Not gonna happen when you are outnumbered. This game is also not just a Playstation game it's also available on the PC but likely won't sell as well as it is on the PS4. Which is why I will keep saying how console gaming is still the way millions prefer to play regardless of the availability on the PC.

trolling by saying the game will get better once they fix it and add dlc to it? yeah sure. the game is a mess right now on the pc, the randomization between planets is low compared to the marketing of how many quidrillion planets there are. there is limit amount of interaction within the game, the space battles are rudimentary and for casual gamers, the layout and species on each planet is not very diverse at all. but the biggest complaints are your inventory management and the constant mining which is more of a grind than games like destiny.

the vision of the game is immense but the end game and the hype surrounding it could never be reached. not with 10 guys working on it.

I'm having a lot of fun playing the game. Its the first game I have seen sold out in my town since..........Wii console was released. No games are ever sold out in my town. Ever. Except this one. I'm guessing it had a lot to do with Hello Games not being able to produce "AAA" number of games at release from the factories.

Most interesting game this year so far for me. I've played a lot of great games the past 18 months, but this one is deffinatley the most interesting. I am also having a blast on that Uncharted 4 multiplayer as well.

Yeah, at least for the US sales I'd have to assume that UK tracks the closest w/ US in terms of tastes. I'd assume most anything that does well in the UK will in turn do well in the US.

Glad this one paid off for Hello Games, seems like those guys are some of the few that really deserve the success. I always had a blast w/ the Joe Danger games & I'm looking forward to trying this one out sometime soon.

If you look at the US amazon best sellers for 2016 so far you will see that no man's sky is right up there selling even more units than the division has on the xbox. Since amazon is fairly representative for the industry as a whole is safe to assume NMS is bossing America also

Im happy it is and have been enjoying it immensely. I want to clarify something. The people that have been criticizing the game have valid points, however imo the positives outweigh the negatives. It is a different and innovative experience and i commend Sony for bringing these experiences to their console instead of just regurgitated stale ips over and over again which is a big knock i have over the other console companies. Of course i commend Hello games on having the ability to push forward their vision and in creating it.

Last gen ppl tried to spread the false narrative that Sony gamers dont buy games lol even though many games sold in the millions (uncharted, lbp, GT, Killzone, etc). We as gamers support all types of games including new and innovative ones and im glad it is so because it is the reason Sony keeps either creating new innovative ips either through first parties or acquiring the games from third parties.

I was so pissed when i got to a planet that was like 80% water and toxic rain because they steered me there and there was %hit! lol but its all part of the game. I am now on a planet with tons of caves and its really cool. Just getting material, buying and selling for my hyper drive fuel.

I'm glad that in spite of the hasty reviews from the likes of Jimquisition who already wrote their review months ago that the game is doing well regardless. It is hands down my favorite game of this generation... is it perfect? No... but it's more perfect than most AAA games. Halo 5 took me about 6 hours to complete, was complete garbage and had broken online. NMS has taken me 35+ hours so far to barely scratch the surface and I've enjoyed every second of it. This means more updates to the game as times goes on and probably a sequel announcement around the time Sony reveals PS5.

To repetitive and unrewarding for me, trading my CE into Amazon for $6 more than I payed for it. Maybe if it receives countless updates and DLC I will give it another shot. As of now, going to a barren planet mining a couple minerals and learning some words, then looking for a way to clear inventory at one of the generic generated towers with a boring generated character who will give me a word or very rarely something useful just does not do it for me.

It might be for some people, but personally I don't see it. A big thing for me in games is exploring worlds people created and shaped, while this game was randomly generated by some formula. The only awesome part is driving your space ship IMO. I hope some RPG adopts this method of travel so I can actually enjoy it.

Well. What type of game do you want to play. The No Man's Sky website has an about page that tells you exactly what the game is for you, so there is no guessing.

Sean (developer) said it is not multiplayer, so get that out of your head right away.

It is a space exploration/ survival game. You get rewarded for making discoveries. You can fly and battle in space. There are space stations. It isn't all run and gun. There are benign creatures and aggressive ones.

There is trading and the chance to trade with aliens. You can even attack capital ships and steal their cargo. But, if you have valuable cargo, space pirates will come after you.

There is a loose story, but don't expect dialogue. You want to journey to the center of the galaxy.

Further, you can take your time and do as you wish. There is no building component, but there is crafting. You can buy/ find better ships, upgrade your exosuit and get a better weapon.

If that isn't for you, then choose a different game. Sean (the dev, again) said, if you want an MP sci fi shooter, play Destiny.
