After Capcom released their Fiscal Year reports, it was revealed that Street Fighter V shipped less than 100,000 copies throughout the quarter.
Michael 'BrolyLegs' Begum, beloved Street Fighter icon, has passed at 35, leaving behind a legacy of courage and inspiration.
Damn, this guy was amazing and very courageous. It was unbelieveable how good he was at Street Fighter. Playing the game basically with his mouth. RIP.
Street Fighter 5 launched in 2016, and is widely considered a misstep for the hugely popular franchise. This article explains why that is.
Every Street Fighter is called a misstep of the series since Street Fighter III..and even the Alpha games were not liked by everyone.
SF V had a miserable start but later it did a lot things actually better than SFIV and SF6.
SF6 is the first SF since SFII Turbo for that I did not buy at launch. And today, around 6 months after its launch I still have no motivation to buy it.
I grew out of fighting games, loved them as a kid but online you just get your ass kicked over and over leaving just the bare bones single player and also having no friends anymore who like fighting games either just makes me not want to buy or play them anymore.
Street Fighter documentary 'Here Comes a New Challenger' is now available for all, following a successful crowd funding campaign.
Inb4 Capcom /Yoshinori Ono share their belief that the players are to blame that there won't be a Street Fighter VI.
Good
I hope they learn their lesson that exclusive deals don't always pay off.
TR RotTR had the same fate
The Ryu pic is just as funny as the Ken duplicate posted on here.
SFV is the worse in the series so far, just an all around unappealing game. Bare bones, drip fed content, new characters with no cinematic specials, horrible new character designs that are uninteresting, over priced DLC, extreme grinding that only caters to the hardcore and being on one console and crapping on their 360 fans didn't help either.
"Capcom also recently released Capcom Pro Tour-themed DLC, including 3 new costumes (retailing $6 each), new colours, new titles and a new stage (retailing at $10) that updates based on Pro Tour events, like EVO. Proceeds from DLC sales will increase the Capcom Pro Tour prize pool."
This is part of the reason SFV is a bust.
Every time I start thinking about getting it, Capcom will turn around and do something stupid again with it. The self-censorship, the lacking of modes, the ridiculously overpriced recent DLC (25 bucks(!!!) for a new stage and a few new costumes/colours I believe...), etc etc.
I'll be looking at the alternatives (Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, etc) before I consider buying it.
Holy hell that's awful!!!! That's barely a speck of sand in the Sahara. Is this retail and digital combined?!
