it releases on my Birthday... anyway, I like the design but I am not a big fan of white either. Just a personal preference for my electronics. I think they resisted black because it looks too much like a PS4 sitting up vertically (as it is presented on the box). Obviously the PS4 was the inspiration for this redo. Design wise I think it looks great. Just not the color.

Some of the best consoles came in white (or an offshoot of white) NES, SNES, PSOne, Dreamcast, PS2 Slim, 360.

I like the look of a glossy ceramic white but like all other light colors they tend to show dirt from excessive use (especially the controllers). The gears one looks pretty slick. I wouldn't mind seeing a silver / platinum one. I think it would look better with my a/v equipment.

i like the white since it matches my 360...but aside from that there are several skin companies that will suit your needs i'm sure.

Unlike most, I actually want this and see the value for my current gaming situation(s). I have a 4K TV but don't necessarily need/want 4K gaming, but a 4k Blu-ray player is nice to have.

Also, I have half a gen of X1 exclusives I haven't been playing (PS4 owner). Inside, We Happy Few, Ori, etc... excited to be able to play these games now.

And it has a 2TB Hard-drive which helps because I've finally decided this gen to go all digital and my 1TB I put in my launch PS4 is great, but you can tell the ones installed yourself make the PS4 run hotter as it gets more full. I'm looking forward to having built in 2TB with X1S

Scorpio is my only reason to hold off, but it's in 1.5 years and I'd rather make a huge jump like that with PS (just preference) brand. If Scorpio had a definite price point or release date I would wait, but I am excited for the X1S.

I didn't check pre-order numbers LOL. Preordered off Amazon already. I guess from what I've read and heard about X1S is... "well if you have a X1 why get this and if you want a X1 just get scorpio".

X1S seems, to me, like a luxury/novel product similar to the new NES. Why would someone upgrade to a X1S and I bet a lot of people who don't have X1's will possibly purchase the original X1 as the slim model will cover the $300-$400 range people can buy a refurb or cheap X1 fatty for $200-$250.

But I didn't think you were rude, no issues from me.

Totally understand your decision, there are some games on the XBO I'd like to check out too, but I don't have a 4k tv so I can't really justify it yet. The games I've wanted on there haven't seemed to pan out all that well and it doesn't give me a lot of hope for the future games I'd like to play on there. Also, per the games you are missing on the XBO, Inside & We Happy Few are both timed console exclusives, so they will both be hitting PS4 at some point in the future. Pumped to play those games as well but I'm gonna hold out myself. If Recore & Gears turn out good I may reconsider, but QB & SSOD & Ori are the only games on the platform that I'm interested in as of now.

@FunkyGoron, OI wouldn't put too much stock on all these opinion articles. Nor would I pay attention to the arcade rambos putting certain devices, games etc down. Especially when those devices have not even been out and tried. While there are a lot of people on N4G, we are still a small minority of the gaming community.

Personally I believe that someone should get what they want after doing a little research. Great on you for getting the Xbox One Slim. It's 4K bluray player, bigger hard drive, smaller console, no power brick...and especially if you have a 4K TV. No one knows how much the Scorpio will cost and it is for the high end crowd. For me, I will be getting the Xbox One Slim for our upstairs media room as we have 4K TV's upstairs and right now I only have a LED 1080P #D projector downstairs. I will get the scorpio (barring the full reveal of features) next year and put it down stairs when I get a 4K projector I have my eyes one.

Enjoy the Slim and game on.

Original PS4 is still thinner and smaller than the xbox S. PS4 design was a masterpiece from the beginning. I cannot imagine a smaller PS4 but Sony engineers are masters at what they do.

Ummmm....it's an Xbox Ond. Only slightly more powerful with the ability to play 4K video and UPSCALE games to 4K as well as HDR support. What games will launch with it? This isn't a new gen. Are you okay.

It does have a release date for the controller it says and i quote "the controller can be purchased as a standalone item for $59.99USD and will also be available August 2" ......OMG i really think that there needs to be a reading test before people can join here as despite what i said being taken directly from the article itself and if you read it you can clearly see it for yourself yet somehow some people skipped that part

I'm so torn between this and the Gears bundle. I'm not really a Gears fan, but I love the console's aesthetics, and I'm not big on white due to my OCD. I would then have the UC4, Arkham Knight, and Gears 4 bundles. I just don't want to wait another two months. First world problems, eh? Everything that I've looked at and I still can't determine if the white slim is glossy or matte finish? I may just have to go with the Gears bundle.
