Top 6 JRPGs coming out in 2016 & 2017

"Announced as a PS3-exclusive titled Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Final Fantasy XV is the 15th main installment in Square Enix’ popular franchise. Following a very long development time, the game was renamed in 2013 and moved to the PS4 from PS3."

I'm so ready for this. It's only a matter of knowing what will the Neo offer before I decide what PS4 to buy. Because Sony said that Neo won't exceed the frame-rate of base PS4 and that's disappointing but since they have not unveiled the system yet I'm hoping for a clarification on this. Because I'm not buying a 4k tv any time soon, so the Neo would be pointless to me then if the only improvement will be resolution.

what's the point if it will not exceed the frame rate ? Single player games should have higher frame rate, unless they are pushing for 4k. but microsoft and sony will give devs the freedom to push 60 and boost graphics.

"Because Sony said that Neo won't exceed the frame-rate of base PS4 and that's disappointing but since they have not unveiled the system yet I'm hoping for a clarification on this."- well if going by the article you posted then ps4 neo could have better frame rate and resolution then the ps4, from the article;
"However, In terms of hard and fast technical guidelines for Neo rendering, Sony offers this:
Games running in Neo mode must operate at a native rendering resolution of 1920x1080 (1080p) or higher.
A game's frame-rate must meet or exceed its equivalent performance level on base PlayStation 4 hardware."

Not on this list, but 'I am Setsuna' looks very good to me as well.

As far as this list is concerned, I hope they'll include the Japanese voices as an option.

Good-Smurf2852d ago

Ni No Kuni included Japanese Audio so I think with NNK 2 they will do the same.
But I really want to see more of Ni No Kuni 2.

I am Setsuna is the Chrono Trigger spiritual successor! It has caught my attention

Yi-Long2852d ago

I saw the game running on a demo-pod in Hong Kong (Tai Po to be precise), and I didn't know what it was, but it just looked gorgeous. The text was all in Japanese, so I couldn't figure out the title (store-owner was on the phone so didn't bother him to ask), but when I got home I just did a little search, and found it was Setsuna. Since then, I've been really looking forward to it. :)

i don't think Deep Down will ever come, they should replace Scalebound with FF7 remake or Nioh Automata in that list.

ApolloTheBoss2852d ago

Where is the release date dammit? I need this in my life.

no_more_heroes2852d ago

Most excited for Persona 5, KH3 and Ni No Kuni 2 from that list, but I'm looking forward to all of them, except Deep Down.

I would add valkyria azure revolution only if they revert back to chronicles style gameplay.

Glad that I absolutely can't stand subscription services.

Petebloodyonion2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

I don't recall Sony forcing you to subscribe like nobody forced you to go to Blockbuster to rent games instead of buying them.

SonyStyled2d ago

Pay-per-view was almost cheaper than the cost of gas and rental fee from Blockbuster. Blockbuster doesn’t exist today. Are you being sarcastic?

Final Fantasy XV Review – A Royal Road Trip

Gary Green said: With my fondness for (most) Final Fantasy games and my side goal of finishing off games in my collection with loose ends, a return to Final Fantasy XV seemed inevitable. It also serves as my third Final Fantasy platinum trophy after VII and VIII, a reasonable substitute since Final Fantasy IX is nigh on impossible to master.
