Top 6 JRPGs coming out in 2016 & 2017

I'm so ready for this. It's only a matter of knowing what will the Neo offer before I decide what PS4 to buy. Because Sony said that Neo won't exceed the frame-rate of base PS4 and that's disappointing but since they have not unveiled the system yet I'm hoping for a clarification on this. Because I'm not buying a 4k tv any time soon, so the Neo would be pointless to me then if the only improvement will be resolution.

what's the point if it will not exceed the frame rate ? Single player games should have higher frame rate,unless they are pushing for 4k. but microsoft and sony will give devs the freedom to push 60 and boost graphics.

Games running in Neo mode must operate at a native rendering resolution of 1920x1080 (1080p) or higher.
A game's frame-rate must meet or exceed its equivalent performance level on base PlayStation 4 hardware."

Not on this list, but 'I am Setsuna' looks very good to me as well.

As far as this list is concerned, I hope they'll include the Japanese voices as an option.

Ni No Kuni included Japanese Audio so I think with NNK 2 they will do the same.
But I really want to see more of Ni No Kuni 2.

I saw the game running on a demo-pod in Hong Kong (Tai Po to be precise), and I didn't know what it was, but it just looked gorgeous. The text was all in Japanese, so I couldn't figure out the title (store-owner was on the phone so didn't bother him to ask), but when I got home I just did a little search, and found it was Setsuna. Since then, I've been really looking forward to it. :)

Most excited for Persona 5, KH3 and Ni No Kuni 2 from that list, but I'm looking forward to all of them, except Deep Down.

Dragon Quest 11 and Ni no Kuni 2 are my top 2, cannot wait for them.

Dragon Quest is another one I'm interested in. Never played a DQ game before. The closest was the first two hours of Blue Dragon.

Do yourself a favor and get your hands on a PS2 and Dragon Quest VIII (or go the more illegitimate route if you have to). The game has aged beautifully thanks to the graphics style, and otherwise the game is a ridiculously good JRPG. Just avoid the crippled mobile version. It's the last classic Dragon Quest style game that was truly good, which makes DQ XI very, very exciting, since it's returning to roots in what seem to be amazing ways.

Don't get me wrong, IX wasn't bad, but it was so, so limited by being stuck on the DS.

I've been looking for a good JRPG to play for years and still fall short. Last one I really enjoyed was enchanted arms which wasn't anything special, just liked the golems a lot and the combat. Any suggestions?

* Legend of Zelda: BotW....while still an Action Adventure game, it creeps slightly closer to RPG territory with the newest version of the game......but still remains mostly and mainly an action adventure game.

In all of those, only FF15 and Persona 5 have release date. Scalebound has a release window.

KH3 and Ni No Kuni 2 not only don't have release windows, but at least one of those games will probably not release in 2017 either (Hint: I am obviously talking about Kingdom Hearts 3).

With Nomura at the helm, Kingdom Hearts 3 isn't coming out soon and neither is FF7R.

As for Deep Down, it's vaporware at this point, it will never be released, it's like Agent from Rockstar.
