The Trailer for Death Stranding Was Exactly What E3 2016 Needed

Oh yea, put the biggest narcissist on stage is EXACTLY what E3 needed. The only guy to ever put his name on the front of a game, and put himself in his games like some super dudebro.

Yet he's paraded around like a legend. When all he did was MGS, "oooooo!"....

At least this will be his first chance to prove himself in a decade. Lets see if the, "legend", has it in him.

Apparently you haven't played Snatcher or Policenauts. I've been a fan for 24 years so I don't know about the last decade comment. In my mind he was a legend by the time the 80's was wrapping up.

He's been on the gaming industry for almost 30yrs. He works on various games like Snatcher, Policenauts, Zone Of The Enders Series, MGS Series and Castlevania Lords of Shadow. He received more awards that you could probably achieve in your entire life.

The man didn't become one of the best known game devs in the world by being bad at what he does. He puts his name on the box because his name is like a seal of quality, his name sells games. He is loved by his fans because he is often genius. People are only recently appreciating what he was telling us in MGS2 because it's only now we realise he was right. What's the first thing he does when he moves away from MGS? PT Demo, y'kno, that thing that blew everyone's mind when they finally realised it was a teaser for a new Silent Hill.

This man has earned his fame and you're mad at him because he puts his name on his creations (which is perfectly acceptable in every other art medium) and because 'all he did was MGS' (which is simply ignorance on your part. Educate yourself.

He's eccentric in his design philosophies, but he makes good games, and that eccentric nature of his is why so many people are fans of his, because it's just so weird.

It was one of my favourite trailers I mind you but I wouldn't said it was needed because there were alot of great trailers and gameplay reveals this year. I'm just glad that there more trailers that didn't follow alot of the "Hollywood tropes" that make them unwatchable for me.

CG-only and live-action game trailers do nothing for me, but Death Stranding is the exception. My hype level is at a 10. I love the tone, the music was perfect, the mystery... Hook, line and sinker. I need to know more. I'll be there for any and every trickling of news for Death Stranding.

Same here...I typically don't even notice or watch a cg trailer, and I'm not even a huge Kojima fan, but that thing was just very well put together. I can actually get a sense of the narrative tones from the trailer & they are very intriguing.

Have you seen the videos breaking down the Easter eggs? The entire trailer is basically cut to mimic the introduction of Arnold in T2, pretty deliberately so that's a hint that time or space travel plays a bit role...then those dog tags on Reedus' neck have those cool call backs too. It's hard to imagine putting something like this together in such a short period. Seems like it's gotta be an idea that's been floating around in his head a very long time.

Hideo Kojima is obviously a very creative guy. Now that he is no longer with Konami and Sony has said do whatever you want while writing him a blank check, I think we are all in for a treat.

I don't know, when I watched the trailer I was like "wtf is this s**t?" It's a total eco extremist message being sent. I think Kojima must have been abducted by aliens or something, because that game trailer was too weird.

So many simple minded and salty people from people that won't be able to play the game. The trailer had so many metaphors, references, and easter eggs. One of the most creative and awarded game devs in history gets a blank check to make a game he's never been able to make and people are doubting it from a trailer that they're too ignorant to understand. How sad gaming has become.
