We Happy Few: E3 2016’s Sleeper Hit - MONG

E3 was once again an overdose of intoxicating games: Horizon: Zero Dawn, Final Fantasy XV, Gears of War 4, Dishonored 2, South Park: The Fractured But Whole, Prey, The Last Guardian, and many more provided a gush of excitement and a pre-ordering frenzy. Among these games was Compulsion Games’ roguelike first-person survival thriller We Happy Few -- this year’s E3 sleeper hit.

while when i first saw the game in previous E3 i though another Bioshokesque -generic game . in this trailer had an unnerving horror which instantly absorbed you.. im waiting to see more

Very small development team...early access gamers are pretty much testers which help speed alomg the game...bigger companies like Activision and EA have lots of money so to them they don't need early access.

Same with ARK.

Over time I've grown a tad skeptical of early access games, however, Compulsion Games is a small team and I think they realized the potential hit they have on their hands with this game, Microsoft probably made that realization as well. Their last game Contrast was pretty poor, so going into early access will hopefully allow We Happy few to escape a similar fate by providing important feedback and more time.

The first trailer they showed for this game (at last years E3 I think) was incredible and I was very excited. Then I found out it was Early Access and a survival game and lost all interest.

this and inside from the guys who made limbo were my games of the show honestly ... such a cool and different vibe from those games compared to everything else... definitely how i think more games should be, not just insert franchise name here plus a number or subtitle ...

Quite a bit sounds rouguelike. It has procedurally generated stages and perma death. It's sounding very unique.
