I'm pretty sure he meant because it was a rapid fire review whereas the Quantum Break review was the traditional Angry Review type. This one was missing all those fun skits and Joe being upfront talking about it more expressively. It was a shorter, cheaper, less entertaining type of review than people who watch Angry Joe reviews are use to. He was too busy this month compared to when Quantum Break came out to do a full, fun-filled Angry Joe Review.

One thing I do like about AJ is that he does actually qualify his reasons for criticism and praise with actual video example. I don't always agree with what he says in those examples/critiques, but it's hard to refute that he doesn't at least show you what he's talking about which puts it in context for the viewer. I like how he was able to point out negative critiques, how it compares to other games in the same genre(ROTTR in this instance), and how that effects he overall experience. To me, that's how reviews should be, and it's hard to dispute why his negative stances may not have an effect on some people over random "it sucks" with no qualification.

I might get disagrees for this but I had more fun playing Uncharted 4 multiplayer than Gears of War 4 multiplayer beta and I don't know why. I'm not saying Uncharted 4 multiplayer is better but it's fun to play. The developers have enough time to fix Gears of War multiplayer before they release the game because the beta just didn't do it for me IMO. Gears felt outdated and I got bored quick and this is coming from a long time fan of Gears multiplayer. Maybe because I was overhyped for it or probably because I played it too much. But I'm willing to give it another chance when its release this fall.

@ShadowKnight Why the hell would you get disagrees for that? So Uncharted 4's multiplayer is not allowed to be better than Gears of War 4's Beta for some reason (which was easily disappointing even to fans) or even the final version for that matter???

Gears of War 4 isn't even being made by the original team that made the series what it is. Fans will be incredibly lucky if they DON'T get another botched contamination of a series that doesn't have a leg to stand on when compared to previous versions, just like Halo since 343i took over.

Well he gave me the idea when he called me a shady lawyer. That got me thinking about what a shady lawyer does. Basically a shady lawyer will say one thing and then when he realises that he made a mistake he will manipulate the evidence to say something else. So that got me thinking about rookie editing his comments all the time to fit his agenda. Now while he can edit his comments what he can never change are fotographs of the original.

He really taught me a lot.

I'm surprised he did one at all. Notice how he mentions he needs to go back and play the 3 other games in the Nathan Drake Collection. I really wanted him to play them before this game came out but he obviously didn't have the time.
So the Rapid Fire review makes more sense, he wouldn't have been able to do the game justice with a full review, definitely not the same way he did reviews of the sequels to Mass Effect or Dragon Age as he had more passion and history with those series.
It was still a pretty good review though considering there are a lot less people out there, that prefer to game on Xbox over PlayStation, who would admit this is a recommended purchase.

It isn't bad to get a review from a fresh to the series perspective. He wasn't able to compare it wholly to the prior games like some others might, but he didn't try to make assumptions about it based on what he may have read or seen about it, which is something some reviewers do....and if they did play the others, they sometimes spend too much time on the comparisons.

Way too much climbing. And outrageous climbing at that. Nathan is definitely the best mountain climber ever, a true American ninja warrior. The whole last epilogue was unnecessary and some of the cut scenes were long especially around chapters 4-6. Could of had better pacing. The multiplayer is not good. Overall good game but it had flaws.

To me it just didn't feel like an uncharted. More of a mix. I went in expecting over the top action and awesome set pieces mixed with funny jokes etc. But instead got a narrative that dragged. Too much climbing. Open areas aren't my thing. And I didn't like Sam much.

Of course my review of the game isn't much different from Joe's regardless although maybe I wouldn't give it the same score just like DA inquisition. Just isn't my favorite narrative out there.

Just wish Sam was a better shot. Seeing that the AI dont target him AT ALL. It feels like army of two where every bad guy is agro-ing me too death with bukake bullets.

I swear, I had to stay in cover most of the game for more than 10 minutes trying pick every dude off one by one seeing that Sam is so useless while getting blasted 1000's of bullets in my direction.

The action was pretty over the top. Was shown in the review itself. All the set pieces were pretty over the top, and this game had more set pieces than all the other games combined. They were just more playable than prior set pieces which made them seem like more a part of the game instead of a set piece. As far as the jokes, the game was more serious than the others, and given the tone of Drake himself it seemed they would have been more out of place.

It had a lot of climbing/platforming, and I will agree that sometimes it dragged on too long and happened too often, but its kind of a staple of the series, and it did that climbing/platforming pretty well, with some added mechanics thrown in with the grappling hook, and puzzles integrated into those sections.

Sam I liked OK, but Joe wasn't wrong that he was under utilized as a character.

Not disagreeing just wondering what people assume justification sounds like and what evidence of it is there in his review.

Justifying is the contextulization that comes with critiquing something.

Simple example.

Game Mechanic sucks. -no other information given to contextualize why, or author goes off and discusses something else, or author goes on a tirade about how bad he thinks it is without actually describing the problem.

Justifying

Game mechanic sucks because it's clunky which often causes the players avatar perform actions which negatively effect the flow of the game, and often put them in situations where they end up having to scramble to get out of it, thus breaking the flow of game play. This particular problem happens often, and in most situations where -insert example here- which leads to frustration for what is otherwise solid gun play(contextualizing how it works within the rest of the game in this part). May also add in if that mechanic is detrimental to the overall game, and apply it to the experience as a whole to express how it either ruins the experience, or is just an annoyance one eventually over looks.

I was kind of disappointed he didn't review R&C. He reviewed the movie, and used it to simply say R&C(the game) was awesome, and people should go play it, going so far as to say he was now a fan of the series....but still would have like to see his review for the game itself.

I have to admit I like Angry Joe, but he's really fallen in my eyes. Like all he does now is trailer reactions and movie reviews. I loved him for his long in depth game reviews and telling it like it is with fact backing his claims up regardless if I agreed or didn't. Now...there's not even the same enthusiasm and it sounds like he's trying to whisper when he does these Rapid fire reviews. I don't know, I wish him all the luck, but he's not the same Joe I remembered.

He's definitely backed off on the anger aspect of his reviews. I don't watch him regularly, but the last time I actually saw him angry was during the pre-gen launch going off on MS often. I find the reviews themselves to be insightful, and full of actual critique, with reasons for that critique....which is why I always liked his reviews...although typically stayed away because of the "reaction" segments that are interlaced throughout while showing off game play.
