Please no... He's not the right person for this series...

RashBandicoot2893d ago

I hope not as well but wouldn't be surprised if it does happen

Cha0tik2893d ago

If they can't have Utada... they should go with another Japanese artist.

Eonjay2892d ago

I would rather have silence then what is being proposed in this video.
Utada, if I could take all back.. all of the illegal downloads, I swear I would.
Is this Karma?

Not necessarily Japanese, just somebody who can pull off a similar feel to the soft pop we've had so far.

xPaYDaYx2893d ago

Jesus I hope this isn't true lol

Kingdom Hearts 3 intro: *skrillex playing through space and time on his dj stand with kingdom Hearts characters passing by while dancing to his awesome beats*

shmowboyfebop2892d ago

If this is true I would be sooooooo p***** off with Square Enix. It's bad enough they are using a cover of an old song for the long awaited FF15

Utada Hikaru or nothing. She's been in the past two with great theme songs, don't f*** this up Square

RashBandicoot2893d ago

Seems square is going for a more western appeal. Again, not surprising if it does happen.

Cha0tik2893d ago (Edited 2893d ago )

but it's not up to Square-Enix... Utada herself doesn't like to have her music on Digital platforms if it's her choice. Square Enix would have to go through her label and in that case we wouldn't get a new song... we'd only get Simple and Clean or Passion / Sanctuary again...

If Utada doesn't agree to the terms to have her music on Digital platforms then they would have to find someone else. I don't agree with Skrillix... I want another Japanese Artist if possible but I'll always prefer Utada if possible.

rdgneoz32893d ago

"Simple and Clean or Passion / Sanctuary" is a lot better than doing a Skrillex theme song...

Cha0tik2893d ago (Edited 2893d ago )

@rdgneoz3 I agree but they would still have to go through a label to claim rights to this. Either way Utada or the label (Label will most likely be harder since it may be in the contract as well) before we can see these songs on any digital gaming platforms. If they wanted to continue having Utada in this game they would have to make a Physical only version of the game and Sony already told all developers that a digital version for every PS4 game must exist. I don't know about Xbox but it could be the same.

Erik73572893d ago (Edited 2893d ago )

Whattttttttt??? I am so hyped for skrillex to be in kingdom Hearts, I've always wanted this bro! When the beat drops when your taking out bad guys, will be the best moment in kingdom Heart history.

Plus he has a track record of doing this to other franchise and making fans happy....for example...Transformers was a great franchise and he worked on the sound effects and those movies HAPPEND to be the best movies....ever....so just imagine your good old kingdom Hearts plus the quality of transformers.....yea that's a dope video game.

Omnislashver362893d ago (Edited 2893d ago )

Sonny Moore is a pussy with no skills. That's why his old band From First To Last fired his ass, and his follow up band(Sonny, named after himself, self-righteous douche) never worked out. Skrillex is just another douchey take on his name. He's a tasteless loser and doesn't need to be anywhere near KH.

Lord_Sloth2892d ago

For once I agree with your raging, but there are alternatives. Just not Skrillex.

They used a different Utada Hikaru song for each of the two numbered games, so I was kind of hoping, but not really expecting, that they'd do the same for III. However, I'd choose one of the songs they've already used over this every time.

If you really have to appeal to the West SE, first make sure they like what you're trying to appeal to them with.

Cha0tik2893d ago (Edited 2893d ago )

It's not Square Enix this time... Utada does not want her music on Digital Platforms without her consent which is why we don't have a Digital version of KH 1 or 2 on PS3 or PS4. Every digital version of KH has the song without her vocals. She has to agree to creating a new theme and allow the old themes to be on digital platforms before this will change and before she can be the producer and performer for the KH3 theme song.

RashBandicoot2893d ago

Not to mention a lot of time has passed since then. Some things don't stay the same unfortunately.

Paytaa2893d ago

Skrillex sucks ass.

I never played Kingdom Hearts, but I always loved the themes when I was younger. Utada Hikaru has a beautiful voice.

Cha0tik2893d ago

While I'd normally say "I'm with you on this"... I'm not because I want to know how the story ends. Utada is in my opinion the only person perfect for the theme song but this video somewhat confirms something I've known about her music and that's the fact that all of her music must be on a physical platform of some kind and anything other than that must be agreed on by her personally... She does NOT want her songs on digital platforms for some reason which is why YouTube is starting to crack down on her music being uploaded. I'm not going to boycott the game because I want to finish the series but this is disappointing.

RashBandicoot2893d ago

Same, I really want to see how the story ends dubstep or not.

Final Fantasy XVI Has Finally Given Donald Duck A Worthy Opponent

For a long time, it's been widely accepted amongst Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts fans that Donald Duck is the most powerful mage ever to exist, mainly due to his use of the stupidly powerful Zettaflare spell towards the end of Kingdom Hearts 3. This spell is one step up from Teraflare, a spell which was used in Final Fantasy XIV that was so powerful that it completely wiped out the base game, giving the developers a canonical reason to let them bin everything and start again from scratch.

Now you're armed with this information, you can see how it was pretty surprising for Donald Duck of all characters to bust out Zettaflare and establish himself as the most powerful character in Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts lore. However, now that Final Fantasy XVI has arrived and delivered a whole new cast of characters, a new challenger has arrived to provide Donald with some much needed competition.

Final Fantasy's Strongest Canonical Magic User Is... Donald Duck?

Final Fantasy features many strong characters, but an unlikely character from Kingdom Hearts is able to cast the most powerful spell ever seen

Final Fantasy's strongest magic user is Donald Duck, who never appears in a final fantasy game.

This Kingdom Hearts Boss' Unpredictability Gave Me Sekiro Vibes

Kingdom Hearts is filled with otherworldly boss battles, but only one stands out like a phoenix dancing with ethereal grace across the night sky. Before we embark upon a discussion concerning Kingdom Hearts' exceptional boss battles, it may be prudent to first reflect on the evolution of the criteria for appraising video game bosses. This criterion has undergone a major metamorphosis over the past decade; one that owes much to the profound influence of From Software and its iconic Souls series.

"Yozora is much more than a grueling secret encounter; he is a reflection of what Kingdom Hearts' bosses should be"

No thank you. If every boss in Kingdom Hearts was like Yozora, the series would be unplayable. That's not to say that they shouldn't include such challenges, but making them fundamental to the game would be too much. And don't say that this is what the From Software games are, because Yozora is absolutely harder than most of the bosses in those games. He is waaay faster, has a ludicrous number of abilities (and does them in random order AND can chain most of them together), and punishes you severely if you make a mistake. On top of that, you have to survive this onslaught for a really long time because of how much health he has. It's borderline too much - for me at least. Still, it's a stunning battle.

OMNlPOTENT361d ago

I agree, while I do really enjoy the Yozora fight, I think it's far too difficult to be anything more than an optional boss. However, I do believe that there should be more bosses that are in the same weight and size class as Sora, as the majority of those in KH3 were the best fights. The giant heartless bosses just aren't as enjoyable.
